Outstanding Storyline-Boring Period Piece Season one completely and totally enjoyed 100%. The present day story line was a much easier watch for me then season two. The switch from modern day in season one and the jump to season period piece meant a complete change for the entire season that came with many levels of twists but the appeal of a present day Witch/Vampire story line was much more engaging. I really struggled through the period piece although the story line as such was too engaging to continue you watching however finally at the flip of a return to home for the two left us with a cliff hanger that for me I needed after season 4. I felt like get me out of here for the entire season. Matthew Goode's performance was incredibly amazing with the hidden blood rage coming to light and present us with a whole new side of his character that was quite terrifying. He does cray cray extremely well. Theresa's performance revolving around her gathering control over her powers and bring but an even more complex character with incredible powers beyond imagination. There are a few flaws in the is character though regarding her powers and the lack of use of them only being in incredibly dangerous situations, it would have been a little more cohesive if we saw her using her powers in more subtle ways, for me it would have made her character a little more cohesive and believable. So I still gave it a ten because of the incredible first season opening but for season two I would substantially lower my rating had it not been for the incredible writing and engaging story line. Season two episode 10, be prepared for a lead balloon drop of an ending that is a cliff hanger done in bad taste. I am looking forward to season three's jump to present day and with both season 1 and 2 leading up to a very thrilling season three with an even more interesting story line and finally bring all characters back together from season one. Another criticism for season two was the length of time it took for us to come back to present day events, with too much emphasis in the jump to the past it was almost as if the first season story line was becoming unhinged from season one story line which again left two much of a gap that almost tore the story line apart. Now that the setting for season three is the jump back to present day I suggest the sometimes endless suffering to watch is worth it for what's to come in season three. Thank god that's over and I can now come back to the original present day story line rather that the overdone period pieces of both witches and vampires. There are countless stories of vampires and witches from history, the refreshing new present day was much more interesting than the presentation of an already overdone topic in movie making taking place in periods from the past.
