The Last Samurai
(2003)

If you liked Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan, then check this movie out.
Superb acting by Tom Cruise and superb directing by Edward Zwick. This film takes place 1876. A very depressed decorated civil war soldier named Nathan Algren(Tom Cruise) is asked to go to Japan to train the Japanese men into shooting soldiers. During a battle with a Samurai. Another Samurai warrior(Ken Wantanbe) takes interest in him. When Algren wounded in battle. The Samurai leader takes him to there country. Where Algren soon learns to adapt. The best war movie so for. It's Braveheart and Dances With Wolves mix together almost. It had great scenery and great battle scenes. Also a great performance by Tom Cruise. And great acting by the rest of the cast. And terrific directing by Edward Zwick.

Brother Bear
(2003)

Great story with great animation.
Disney has done it again with another great animated story. The movie starts out with a young named Kenai(well voiced by Joaquin Phoenix) who believes that bear is the cause for his older brothers death. But when he finally takes his revenge. The spirits magically transform him into a bear. Kenai must go on a journey to get himself back to normal. During that time he meets up with a cub bear named Koda(Jeremy Suarez). A great film for the whole family, it's touching as well has funny. With memorable characters. Don't miss it.

The Cat in the Hat
(2003)

Don't listen to the critics, go see this movie and form your own opinion.
Jim Carrey was The Grinch, and know Mike Myers is The Cat In The Hat. A good kids story taken from the pages of Dr.Seuss. A magical feline(well played by Mike Myers) goes in the home of two siblings named Conrad(Spencer Breslin from last years The Santa Clause 2) and Sally(Dakota Fanning from this years Uptown Girls) and tries to teach them on how to have a fun time, while there mother(Kelly Preston) is at work. But what happens when there scumbag neighbor(perfectly well played by Alec Baldwin) begins to suspect what there up to, and trying to woo there mother at the same time. I liked this movie, it is not overacted like The Grinch was. Mike Myers plays the part in his own way, and his own comic style. And it also had cool special effects. I don't care what the other critics say, I liked this movie.

Elf
(2003)

Holiday slapstick
Will Ferrell is at his funniest. He plays Buddy, an ordinary human who was raised by elves in the North Pole at Santas workshop. When Buddy feels that he is not fitting in. He advised by elf stepfather(Bob Newhart) to go to New York City to find his real father named Walter Hobbs(James Caan). But Buddy has yet to discover that this world is very different from the world he grew up in. A great holiday movie since The Santa Clause. It's funny and touching, that makes you feel good about the holidays. A really must see

Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica
(2003)

Married life is not perfect.
Even if your famous. Why Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey would ever agree to have a reality show on there life. But it kinda shows that Jessica is beautiful and sweet, but shows she can be whinny and complain a lot. And Nick can prince charming most of of it, but it shows he can be irritably and brash for the other part. Will they stay together? Only time will tell. Will this show last? Probably not long enough. But it really shows, that even famous married people have there up and downs like everybody else.

Radio
(2003)

IT'S JUST A TRULY GREAT FILM.
I thought Uptown Girls was the most touching movies of 2003. But after seeing this movie, I now think it comes in a tie with Uptown Girls. It's perfectly well acted by Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding Jr. The story is set in 1976,football coach Harold Jones(Ed Harris) is hard drivin in pratice, he seems to have very little time for his wife and daughter(Debra Winger and Sarah Drew). But his view on life begins to change, when he meets James Robert Kennedy(Cuba Gooding Jr) who has a very slow learning process. Harold asks him to come to practice and help out a little. The two form a friendship, and Harold gives him the nickname Radio. But they soon begin to learn a lot from each other. A very beautiful film. That teaches us a lot about the human spirit. I shore hope that Cuba Gooding Jr gets nominated for an oscar.

Good Boy!
(2003)

It's My Dog Skip meets E.T.
This is a very entertaining lighthearted film, it's for anybody who has a pet. 12 year old Owen Baker(Liam Aiken) is a very lonely boy, who's best friends so far seem to be the neighbors dogs he walks everyday. Owen really wants one of his own. One day his parents take him to the pound to get one. He finds a cute dog and names him Hubble. But Owen slowly discovers, this is no ordinary dog. Who just happens to be a very intelligent dog from outer space. A pure delight for the whole family. Matthew Broderick is also good as the voice of Hubble. It's funny and delightful. Please don't quit making movies like this.

Jeepers Creepers 2
(2003)

This should have been part one.
I mean this one was more exciting then the first, and we got to know the creeper a little. It takes place several days after the first one. The Creeper traps a bunch of teenagers on a school bus. The teenagers are filled with fear on how are they gonna think there way out of this. During that time a father(Ray Wise) is hot the creepers trail, wants for revenge for killing his son. It kinda reminds you of Jaws 2 almost. It was exciting, with heart pounding suspence, and a little humor mixed in. I can't wait for this come out on DVD.

The Return of the Incredible Hulk
(1977)

THE MOST EXCITING ONE OF ALL.
It takes place several weeks later. David Banner find refuge when a rich family takes him in, David takes on a new alias, and also strikes a friendship with a young lady(Laurie Prange) who seems to have trouble walking. But David soon suspects that the medicine her rich family is giving her might be poison. They soon try to get rid of him. But what they'll find out, making him anger will be a big mistake. Bill Bixby always gives great performance has the charming but sad David Banner. Not even Eric Bana played the part as good as Bill Bixby did. Lou Ferrigno is always good as the anger but sensitve monster. This episode has great tension, and action. Also an exciting scene where the hulk slugs it out with a grizzly bear. In a way it puts the 2003 to shame.

The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire
(2003)

An enjoyable dramatic/funny show.
This show is about three brothers(Randy Quaid, John Carroll Lynch, Chris Penn) deal with life in a small town, and trying to keep there marriages together. I saw two episodes, I really find this show enjoyable. It shows these brothers are very insecure about issues, sometimes it gets funny and sad most of the time. I hope this show will be on a while!

Out of Time
(2003)

Denzel Washington maybe out of time, but not out of an enjoyable thriller.
This movie has it. Humor, tension, and suspence. Matt Whitlock(Denzel Washington) who is the chief of police in Miami, discovers that a woman he has been secretly seeing (Sanaa Lathan) and her husband (Dean Cain) where burned to death in there house. But as he begins to investigate, he must get rid of the evidence of their affair, before his soon to be ex-wife(Eva Mendes) also a detective, begin to close in on him, and they name him the big suspect. Okay maybe the plot seems similar to No Way Out(1987), but in some ways it's different. It has some cool plot twists. Denzel is memorable as always, so is the rest of the cast. Enjoy the film Denzel fans.

Spy Kids 3: Game Over
(2003)

Not to good the third time around.
It almost seems like a remake of Tron(1982). The only good thing about this movie are the special effects, and Sylvester Stallones somewhat amusing performance has the Toymaker. But the rest of the movie gets drag out with really weak acting and horrible one liners, that made it annoying to sit through. The magic that made the first two Spy Kids a hit was gone.

Secondhand Lions
(2003)

A great coming of age story.
This story has it all, a great story and great acting. Its funny and touching. Set in the late 1950's, thirteen year old Walter(Haley Joel Osment) is sent to live with his two esentric uncles named Hub and Gath(Robert Duvall and Michael Caine) in Texas, by his trampy mother(Kyra Sedgwick). First Walter thinks that his uncles are pretty dried up. But as days go on, Walter discovers that his uncles are full of surprises. Haley Joel Osment had trouble having a follow up success to The Sixth Sense. But I hope this movie does it. Working with two great actors Michael Caine and Robert Duvall could do it. I hope this movie gets nominated for an oscar.

Spy Kids
(2001)

James Bond was also a kid too.
A cool family film with awesome special effects. Two sibilings(Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara) are suddenly pulled into danger, when they discover that there parents(Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino) are secret agents, and they captured by a madman. It's up to these young ones to rescue them. A film you can enjoy again, again, and again. It's well acted by everyone.

Family Guy
(1999)

It's The Simpsons, The Critic, and South Park all mixed together.
Some may think this is a Simpsons, but I don't care. It's a funny show. That keeps you laughing so hard you would not know when to stop. It's unperdictable humor makes it amusing to watch. It's a shame it got cancelled, but I'm glad it's finding a new audience on DVD and Cartoon Network. It's the funniest cartoon show for adults since The Simpsons. You may laugh ten times harder with this show. Seth MacFarlane is a talented genius, when he created this show. And has talented voice training, when he does the voice of Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, and Brian(the dog)Griffin. His talent in that because all of those voices sound nothing alike. I hope there will be a Family Guy movie!

Shark Attack 2
(2000)

A ripp off of Jaws and Deep Blue Sea anyone.
Put those two movies together, and you got Shark Attack 2. Although I did not see the first Shark Attack movie, I seriously doubt I will. Even though the actors seem to do pretty well. The story falls flat on itself, because if you saw Jaws and Deep Blue Sea, well you know what I'm talking about. It's right up there with Jaws:The Revenge. It might has been called Jaws:The Next Generation.

Underworld
(2003)

Nothing original, but still enjoyable.
It's Blade and The Matrix all mixed up into one. Look at Kate Beckinsales attire in this movie, looks suprisingly similar. A good horror action movie. That definitly delivers the thrills. Kate Beckinsale plays Slena, a beautiful vampire warrior who hunts lycons(Werewolfs), but discovers something interesting during this endless war. I won't say what it is, you'll half to see the movie. You won't be dissapointed. I mean next to Blade and The Matrix you'll have a good time. Awesome action, made with gothicness. I hope there will be a sequel in the future!

Uptown Girls
(2003)

One of the most touching movies of 2003.
Britney Murphy and Dakota Fanning give sweet performances. Molly Gunn(Britney Murphy) a dead rock stars daughter, who never seems to grow up. And lives like a queen in her highly decorated apartment. One day goes bankrupet. She soon gets a job has a nanny for Ray(Dakota Fanning)an 8 year old girl, who tries to grow up to fast. Put these together and you'll get odd couple of funny perportions. A sweet touching film. Britney Murphy and Dakota Fanning have funny comic chemistry. If you're in the mood for a funny lighthearted film, then check this out.

Jake 2.0
(2003)

A new hero for the smallscreen.
Most superheros are real big on the big screen, like Blade, Spider-Man, DareDevil, and Neo from The Matrix. With the success of Smallville, and the not so successful Birds Of Prey on the smallscreen. I guess T.V. needs a new superhero. It starts out with Jake Foley(Christopher Gorham) a young twenty something repairman, who dreams of being a secret agent. One day gets exposed to some dangerous chemicals after a labortary accident. The chemicals give him amazing superpowers. Then he is asked to be a spy for the government. I hope this show will be around for a while. I hope it does not suffer like Birds Of Prey did. Christopher Gorham gives a good charmingly awkward performance as Jake. The show so far has great action and great effects. Keep it up.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
(2003)

The whole picture is Johnny Depp.
I really mean it, he was givin everything to work on. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly were not givin much of anything. Johnny Depp performance has the swashbuckling but unscrupulous Captain Jack Sparrow is cleverly funny and watchable. Orlando Bloom seems to allright as Will Turner, so does the beautiful Keira Knightly has Elizabeth Swann. And Geoffrey Rush as the leader of the cursed pirates is pretty good also. And the special effects are pretty awesome. But it's Johnny Depp that steals the picture the whole way.

The Medallion
(2003)

Almost seems like a slapstick MATRIX.
This was not to bad, but it was not that great either. The comedy was pretty funny. But most of the acting was almost hoaky. Jackie Chan had better chemistry with Claire Forlani then he did Jennifer Love Hewitt in The Tuxedo. He plays Eddie Yang a police detective who is tracking a mysterious crook named Snakehead(Jullian Sands). When he gets to Hong Kong he is teamed up with Nicole James(the lovely Claire Forlani), a detective and old girlfriend. He is also teamed with Arthur Watson(Lee Evans), a smart but happless detective. They all soon discover that Snakehead wants a boy with a mysterious medallion. When Eddie comes close to death trying to protect the boy. The boy puts the Medallion in Eddies hand. When Eddie comes too, he soon discovers the Medallion has giving him incredible superpowers. An okay film, but not Jackie Chans best. I would consider Rush Hour 1 and 2 a slight bit better. The special effects seem alright. Claire Forlani is quite charming. Lee Evans seems like the next Petter Sellers.

Freddy vs. Jason
(2003)

The most exciting fight since KING KONG vs GODZILLA
For some viewers if you don't like slasher flicks, then this movie will make you profoundly unhappy. But for Jason and Freddy fans, its a movie dream come true. To have two horror icons go head to head with each other. Forget the cast of characters in this movie. It's Freddy the supernatural dream killer, and Jason the mindless killing hulk that pretty much make this movie. If you are a big fan of both Freddy and Jason, then I'm begging you do not miss this one.

Freaky Friday
(2003)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FREAKY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the body switching genre was dead, especially after Dream A Little Dream(1989). But this movie somewhat brings it back. The performances are strong in this delightful remake of the 1976 classic. Jammie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan seem pretty belivable in there roles has mother and daughter who switch bodies. Jammie Lee Curtis is very funny playing a 15 year old girl stuck in a 40 year old womans body. And Lindsay Lohan is pretty delightful has a 40 year old woman stuck in a 15 year old girls body. Mark Harmon is also good has Ryan. Very enjoyable. AHH FREAK OUT.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
(2003)

It is quite effective has X-Men and The Hulk.
This movie is quite extraordinary. Taken some people from sci-novels and turning them into a league. I really enjoyed this movie a lot. I'll admit it kind of started out slow. But it picked up has it went a long. Aging adventurer Alan Quartermain(Sean Connery) is asked to recruit a team of extraordinary people to help stop a madman know has the Fantom. an invisible man named Rodney Skinner(Tony Curran), a half vampire named Mina Harker(Peta Wilson), an immortal named Dorian Gray(Stuart Townsend), a Scientist named Captain Nemo(Naseeruddin Shah), an all grown up Tom Sawyer, who is now a spy(Shane West), and shapshifter Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde(Jason Flemyng). I shore hope there will be a sequel. Connery is quite charming, so is the rest of the cast. If your in the mood for good time. Next to X-Men and The Hulk you'll love this one.

The In-Laws
(2003)

It's THE ODD COUPLE meets TRUE LIES.
The best comedy all year. Even funnier then Bruce Almighty, at least the jokes never seem to wear out in this movie. The film is about Jerry Peyser(Albert Brooks) an uptight foot doctor, preparing for his daughter Melissa's(Lindsay Sloane, big red from Bring It On) wedding. He finally meets the grooms father named Steve Tobias( Michael Douglas). But things really get crazy when Jerry discovers that Steve is actually a secret agent, and he gets dragged in on one of his missions. Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks are laugh out loud funny team. You can really tell they were having a ball. It has great action and great laughs.
