I think this movie displays the struggles of separation in a family very well, and in a way that is different from most media i have seen. Separation is complicated and everyone copes with it differently and i appreciate the way this movie shows the perspective of everyone in the family.

I really like walt's character development throughout the movie, he's blinded by his fathers subtle manipulation and struggles to see his mothers side of the story, but counselling seems to help him remember that there is more to his mother than what he thought early in the separation.

Frank seems to recognize and consider both sides of the story and his struggles present with substance abuse and unusual sexual behaviour. I think his character is very well written and preformed, the scenes in which he engaged in the sexual behaviour were unsettling to watch, but in a way that gets the point across well.

As a person that is not a fan of many horror movies especially those involving human torture i was not very thrilled about seeing this movie, but i was pleasantly surprised by it! I have not seen all of the saw movies and i didn't remember all of what happened in the first one but i knew enough to understand the significance of some details which made the watching experience fun and interesting. I enjoyed the movie until it started nearing the end, something about the last 30 minutes or so felt unnatural and awkward which took a lot away from the suspense they were going for. Overall a good plot, and good watching experience but ending was a little disappointing.

This film was hard to sit through, not because of the gore, not because of the message, it was just plain boring!

The metaphor as others mentioned made the movie somewhat bearable, and i will give point for creativity but even with a story line i've never seen before it was just a boring movie.

We didn't learn enough about the characters to be upset about them dying, it's not like other movies made for and about teens, we know almost nothing about these people so the message isn't hitting as hard as i think the writers intended.

In some parts the acting was just bad, it wasn't believable, it didn't feel real, that's another reason it was hard to get through.

Overall the movie was decent but i won't be watching again and i wouldn't recommend it.

I'm a sucker for jason sudeikis, i usually swoon over his work, but this movie is lacking something, the story has definitely been done before and the acting was off.

My sibling and i were absolutely obsessed with this show when we were younger, we haven't stopped talking about it since 2014 and we're currently rewatching it!
