A poem for film making Fincher managed to turn the work of a hitman into a metaphor for filmmaking. Making a movie is about having absolute control over every single department: sets, wardrobe, transportation, acting, cameras, electricity, VFX, etc. And Fincher managed to tell that same story but using the hitman as a prop. He has to control every aspect, his breathing, the routes of escape, the weapons of choice, his disguise, his fake I. D., etc.
Some users complain the movie has no plot... that may be true but i think the movie is intended to be this way, in some points it feels like a nouvelle vague film in that sense.
Fassbender managed to bring an incredible performance after some years out of acting. He came back in full strength.
This movie was completely different than what i had expected yet, it managed to surprise and amaze me.
Bravo, Maestro Fincher.
(The 8 stars are because in some scenes i personally found the lighting to be too dark and that bothered me a bit trying to compensate with altering the HUE of the tv).
