Amulet
(2020)

Very interesting
This is definitely for those that like weird and artsy horror films, and good movie lovers. Depends on what you like. I'm an old school horror fan and it builded on me. Movie is shot very well and the 3 actors in it do a fine job....they play such odd characters. Music was great too....the intro music was creepy. So yes....it's slow and creepy....but thats what its going for. Its not an action packed Marvel film. I have no clue why the low reviews say its bad, worst film, or boring, etc. I don't think they love movies, lol. There are hundreds of worse movies out there, maybe they don't watch much. To me, if its shot great, has good acting, keeps me interested, has me going what the hell at times and trying to figure it out, has good music, is creepy and arty, and has me looking up more about it after I watched it, then thats a good movie. It did its job. I give it a 6 or 7. The intro and outro credits even look cool, lol. Very cool new and different movie.

After Midnight
(2019)

Thought it was cool
It gets better. Its nothing special....but it's worth a watch. I thought the main male actor was good. I think there's one long scene of dialogue from his girlfriend and it's one long take with no cut, which was cool. Those saying its bad in the reviews, sorry....but there are way worse movies out there. Maybe I've seen too many, so maybe my opinion has a bit more weight. This movie is not bad. Wife and I thought it was okay. Especially the ending. I thought the ending was cool. No, it's not action action action all throughout the movie people. The story and the dialogue and the connection between 2 people is the film....with something creepy mixed in.

The Voices
(2020)

Pretty good
Pretty good movie for an evening watch. Really covers the mental illness ground. The ending was like, "What?!" Not in a bad way though. Wife and I enjoyed it. Worse movies out there. I can't say anything bad about it. The older sister plays her part well.....creepy and kooky, Haha.

Mary
(2019)

True opinion...no bs
This movie is definitely a 5, 6, or even 7 rating for sure....compared to all the terrible horror movies out there. And there are some really bad ones. I enjoyed it. It takes place out in the water....family on a boat that's haunted. Simple. Some cool shots in it. Creepy music. One shot in particular was really creepy. Wife and I have never seen a shot like that in a horror film. It's a scene when the dad is staring out into the ocean with a flashlight. So....good/decent acting....well shot....good creepy music....and it was entertaining. It's not rocket science. It was a decent horror film. I think the only thing that bothered my wife was the very end. I hope for a sequel. True opinion.

The Predator
(2018)

As others have said
I too am a big fan and saw the original when I was young in the 80s. Part 2 was good. Both movie had a scary vibe to them. I remember the 1st one definitely had a scary vibe to it and stayed with me for a long time. This mew movie is a mess. Sci fi channel kinda movie. Bad cgi....predator dogs....hybrid cgi predator for most of the film instead of someone in a suit....overdone jokes and curse words....Predator spares them at times....predator robot suit for humans as a twist for the end?! That was supposed to wow us before the credits roll? It sucks because Shane Black has some good past credit history on films, and he's from the original, and talked a big game in bringing this back for the fans and meant well in doing so....but that's not what I got at all. I feel bad for the guy and those that put money behind this. Having a crappy movie like this does not help in having more sequels to it. Even the best actor was like the least used....the Mist and Punisher guy. He should have been the lead. Him and the kevin and peel guy were the only things i liked about the film. Yeah, why does the scientist lady know how to parkour and fight like a superhero? This movie was all over the place. I just finished till the end just to say I saw it all. Cut the cgi predator, take out the cgi predator dogs, take out too many jokes, take out thr overdone cursing, make the film more on a scary horror level, no hybrid and cyborg stuff, dont have humans fighting each other for most of the film, and use better lead actors.

Blade Runner 2049
(2017)

Amazing film for film lovers!
As many have said, this film is amazing! All the actors are good, all the set designs are great, the camera shots are great, the atmosphere is cold and wonderful, the story is interesting, and the musical score was great! Even though the film is almost 3 hours long, to me it didn't feel like it. I didn't want the movie to end. Its a cold and dark sci film with perfect pacing to grab you in the story. Some say its boring or too slow paced...but the pacing is what gives it it's character. Having certain lights and sounds go over certain areas of the set take you into the world. It's the little things and that attention to detail that the cast, crew, and director use to bring the audience into the story and the world of Blade Runner. This sequel definitely honors the 1st blade runner film, ten fold. You can't cut scenes and dumb it down to just action, jokes, and explosions...and make the movie only 1 hour and 30 minutes...we have too many movies like that already. The 1st movie proved there is an audience for this type of film. And some say that the 1st film was boring....well that 1st film happens to be a cult classic among many others. This movie will go down the exact same way...as a classic film experience. Not everyone will get it. Some people like deep meaningful films....even some films where there is no dialogue at all....but they still get pulled into the film, and escape in the story. I have about over 3,000 movies in my collection, and I love movies. I've loved movies ever since I rented them in the 80s on beta cassette tapes as a kid. I know a good movie when I see one, and damn, I'm backing this film as an awesome movie experience that I cant wait to see again.
