Bhaiyya Ji
(2024)

Weakest Manoj Bajpayee film in recent years
Bhaiyya Ji staring Manoj Bajpayee is the weakest movie of him I have seen in recent years. No questions on his acting skills but poor editing, direction and execution has made the film weak. Without the background story of the character i.e Bhaiyya ji his fear seems exaggerated and over-hyped. During fight sequences also I felt some scenes are illogical which I won't expect from MB. Why Bhaiyya ji's younger brother showed as step brother is also not understandable? Real brother and mother would have made his pain more authentic. Also missed good background score and music in the film which can make it more powerful.

Undekhi
(2020)

Perfect Climax in season 3
Undekhi season 3 on SonyLIV is fast paced, thrilling, full of excitement, twists and turns and gives a perfect climax to the series leaving behind the possibilities of another season. Like the last two seasons which surprise you with every episode, this one too keep you hooked to your seats. In these three seasons I like first one the most, second season was weaker but third season gives you what you wanted from this series. #HarshChaya #SuryaSharma #DibyenduBhattacharya #AnchalSingh and others keep up their good work of previous seasons. #VarunBadola is a good addition to the brilliant cast of the series.

Dunki
(2023)

heart touching
Dunki is different from other Rajkumar Hirani films in a way that it didn't talk about an issue which is popular and known to the masses or which has directly or indirectly affected them like the issues of religion in PK, education in 3 idiots and so on. The film deals with illegal immigration mainly related to Punjab region that's why it didn't become massy like them.

It didn't mean that it is a bad film and the collections are the proof which gain momentum slowly when the emotions, performance of Shah Rukh Khan, Tappsee Pannu and others spread through word of mouth.

It is emotional, hilarious like all Rajkumar Hirani movies.

Sam Bahadur
(2023)

Great Biopic
Vicky Kaushal has nailed the character of Sam Bahaudur Maneckshaw with his look and mannerism but I think talking could be better as I have watched Sam Maneckshaw's interview. The film depicts his life nicely but Meghna Gulzar lost the opportunity to make this movie more engrossing since it has shown war in it.

I also expected real Sam's old interview in the end. In spite having Gulzar and Shankar Ehsan Loy's combo we don't have any memorable song in the movie expect Badhte Chalo. Fatima Sana Sheikh looking too young as Indira Gandhi although her mannerism is same.

All other characters has not given much importance.

Animal
(2023)

Unnecessary Violent
Ranbir Kapoor has performed the character given to him well but that character is one directional not worthy of Ranbir Kapoor. The film is unnecessarily violent and show unusual love of RK with his father played by Anil Kapoor and yet he didn't talk to his father respectfully. Anil Kapoor on the other hand has nothing to do except slapping RK.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga the director of the film is also setting a wrong example of male dominance where women is only a sex slave who don't have anything to say and react. Earlier in Kabir Singh too he has done similar things but he reduced too low in this one.

Music is also not good except Satranga Song.

Tiger 3
(2023)

Blockbuster
Three parts, three different directors, three different perspective but one character that is successful with all. Tiger is synonymous with Salman Khan and as Tiger he is totally different from his other mediocre characters in other films (Kick,Radhe,KBKJ,etc).

Tiger 3 is good continuation of previous parts, the story make connections with the past events which made it more interesting. Katrina Kaif is superb in her action sequences. Emran Hashmi is perfect antagonist against Salman and has done her part superbly.

I didn't like the songs and music in this one, both earlier movies has good Music. SRK's cameo add flavor to the film, The Spy Universe is getting bigger and better.

Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video
(2023)

Exciting Thriller
Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video is a social suspense thriller which revolves around the disappearance of Sajini Shinde (Radhika Madan) after an incident.

Nimrit Kaur who is portraying a role of a cop Bela Barot investigates her disappearance and reveals the truth. In her quest the movie comments on some socially relevant issues related to women in our society.

Radhika Madan, Nimrit Kaur, Bhagyashree, Soham Majumdaar,Sumit Vyas, Chinmay Mandelakr,Subodh Bhave, etc all have did justice to their roles. Director Mikhil Musale keep the audience hooked with fast paced narrative silently commenting on the set rules for women.

Yaariyan 2
(2023)

Confused Film
With 2 or again attached to a movie title your expectations are higher but when it don't matches its prequel you have left with nothing but disappointment.

I don't know why Divya Khosla has started doing acting after her direction failed? She can remain a producer because she has to learn too much in acting and presenting herself as an actor in a movie.

Film lacks clarity in its purpose. Is it a friendship film? A love story? On broken families? Unsuccessful love? Youth Issues? Its really confusing to figure out.

Songs and Music of Yaariyan 1 was good but nothing original in the music and lyrics of this film.

Ganapath
(2023)

Ganpath - A Movie Gone Wrong
Body and Dance can grab the eyeballs but that will not give you success in long run. Tiger Shroff has not evolved as an actor in all these days. He still think he can vow the audience with his action and dance without having a movie with good content, story and performances.

The film was wrong from the beginning with set up and story-line. Futuristic movie has thoughts in the past. How the presence of Amitabh Bachchan is wasted in the movie. Why producers didn't spend money on writing and if going with this writing than why not worked on good VFX, music, costumes, dialogues, etc.

Why to chose such films Kriti after Mimi and a national award?

Dono
(2023)

Cute Love Story
Rajshree successful expertise in Indian marriages and stories around it is repeated again in this movie which marks the debut of director Avinash S Barjatya ( son of Sooraj Barjataya), Rajveer Deol (son of Sunny Deol) and Polomi.

Story and direction is good, its simple but good but performances are ordinary. Sorry to say but Rajveer like his elder brother Karan Deol has not properly prepared himself for the film industry of today. He looks good but expression wise, dance wise ,body wise he still in the era of his father whereas other recent new comers like Varun, Tiger, has worked on themselves.

You can wait for its OTT release to watch the film.

Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue
(2023)

thrilling
Mission Raniganj is a well scripted and directed film. The creative liberty taken by the movie to represent a real life story perfectly suits the narration and made the film more interesting. This is among the best Akshay Kumar movie after Lockdown till now (Atrangi Re and OMG2 don't belong to him but Dhanush-Sara and Pankaj Tripathi).

Yet the film is not doing good on the box office due to half-hearted efforts of Akshay Kumar. His fake beard is clearly visible and even as Gill he was same AK we see in each film. I think his over exposure to the audience has decreased his charm. Moreover expectations from his decreased but its a good film.

The Great Indian Family
(2023)

Good Family Entertainer
The Great Indian Family reassures the values of India we all missing in our societies these days thanks to the misconceptions spread by the media (one sided media). Vicky Kaushal perfectly portrays the dilemma and misconceptions among common Hindu majority people regarding 'The Others'

Kudos to Yash Rah Films and Director Vijay Krishna Acharya for giving this film in this crucial time. Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa give justice to their characters. Manushi Chillar has not much to do in this film except one or two songs.

Along with the social message film also comment on the family values. Expected some more emotional scenes but the movie is good family entertainer.

Jaane Jaan
(2023)

An expected movie with unexpected climax
As the movie started I predicted what's going to happen as soon as all characters were revealed due to the obviousness of the plot. But as the film progressed you get involved with the characters and the story line takes an unexpected turn which surprises the viewers and made it a must watch.

Since Pataal Lok, Jaideep Ahlawat has not shined much but he surely impresses the audience with his performance in the film. Kareena Kapoor Khan portrays her role well and so is Vijay Verma.

Director Sujoy Ghosh again proved his mastery over thrillers. Location, background score and cinematography is also impressive. Must watch.

Jawan
(2023)

Meaningful Mass Entertainer
We all know SRK as a romantic star but he has done great performances also in movies which are not love stories namely, Don,Don 2, Fan, Raees, Dear Zindagi, Duplicate and his recent movies Pathan and now this Jawan.

Jawan is full south Indian type of mass action based film having a good story and great performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupatti, Nayanthara, the girl gang and the others. Anirudh's music again is a plus in this movie. Atlee continued his journey of blockbusters with this one becoming the biggest of all his previous movies.

Watch it for SRK's performances and masala entertainment.

Dream Girl 2
(2023)

Weak Dream of a Dream Girl.
Dream Girl 2 lack the fun, humor, punch lines and situations we enjoyed in Dream Girl 1. It is not the comedy of errors but errors in errors. Ayushman Khurana is the savior with his performance but he alone can't do anything without good script and direction.

Abhishek Bannerjee's talent was not utilized properly. Others like Vijay Raj, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav,Annu Kapoor also didn't make much impact with their performances because whatever given to them is not worthy of what they can do.

Music is also bad in this sequel. I don't know what Ananya Pandey is doing in this film, recently she appeared on TV in a dance show in which she had don more than what was given to her in the movie.

Taali
(2023)

Sushmita Shining
Sushmita Sen is the reason you must watch this biography of transgender activist Shree Gauri Sawant. She has carried the character so well that at times you forget that it's not the story of her but someone else whose character she is portraying.

The crisp screenplay and perfect direction make you feel the struggle of Gauri in Sushmita. I like that series is not stretched unnecessarily in the name of creative liberty but focused on the life, struggle, fight and success of Gauri which inspires the viewers. The emotional scenes also makes viewers emotional.

If you still haven't watched it please do watch.

Guns & Gulaabs
(2023)

Quirky and Nostalgic
Raj and DK explores the 90,s era this time. This series is totally different from their other web series like The Family Man and Farzi. Guns and Gulaab is different from them in its setting and a story line which keeps you engage till the end even when it is not has suspense and thrill of The Family Man and surprise of the Farzi. The highlight of the series is the performances of Rajkumar Rao,Dulquer Salmaan,Gulshan Devaiah, the school kids and others.

I missed the thrill require in such kind of a web series. But the series still entertain you with nostalgia, quirky dialogues and innocence of many characters.

The Jengaburu Curse
(2023)

thrilling
The Jengaburu curse is beautifully crafted web series which a binge watch due to its content and great performances by Faria Abdullah, Nasser, Makrand Deshpande and others . The show looks at the discomforting impact of man's endless greed and exploitation of natural resources without caring how it is affecting the lives of indigenous tribes and environment. The narration of each episode keep you hooked to it till the end. The cinematography explores the nature and surroundings in such way that you started feeling for the nature and the people associated with them. The Jengaburu Curse is a must watch series.

OMG 2
(2023)

God comes to save Bollywood
This is the second good film of Akshay Kumar after lockdown (first is Atrangi Re) where he appeared in extended cameo and not as the main lead. The topic of sex education is beautifully woven in the script which is written and directed superbly. Censor boards' cut and changes do affect the narrative but its still a movie which should be watched by the teenagers. Pankaj Tripathi as Kanti Sharan Mudgal has nailed his character. Pavan Malhotra as judge and Yami Gautam as defense lawyer also give justice to their characters. This film is a must watch for every parents who have young children and also by education institutions and boards.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
(2023)

Not an Amar Prem Kahani
Knowing that Karan Johar is coming back with a movie directed by him is always exciting but this one is not what I expected from him. Yes it has large scale, big sets, big multistar cast but an important thing is missing that a good story. A concept inspired from Subhash Ghai's Saudagar mixed with recently released Jio Cinema's Ishq-e-Nadaan sprinkled with badly sung evergreen songs (why didn't he use old songs in background with original voices) and added K3G like drama.

Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Alia Bhat are only saving grace. Good music and songs which are always highlight of KJo movies are also missing barring only Tum Kya Mile.

Bawaal
(2023)

Nitesh's Masterpiece
Bawaal is war between emotions inside us and the world outside. Nitesh Tiwari has proved it again after Chillar Party, Bhootnath Returns, Dangal, Chichore and other films written by him that he is master in such kind of films.

Bad time that such movie which deserves a theater release premiered on an OTT platform which increase its reach but downsize importance of such film. Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor shares nice chemistry on screen and delivers one of the best performances of their career.

Style of narration, references to world war and simple but effective story line keep the audience glued. A Must watch.

The Trial
(2023)

More Family Drama than Court Drama
I was excited to watch Kajol as a lawyer first time in her career. But all expectations faded away after watching the series because it was centered around the family drama instead of the court room drama and whatever they have shown failed to entertain me.

Kajol as lawyer was missing most of the time, I would have love to watch her debating in the court in spite of having personal problems. The start look promising and setting stage for that court room drama but as it progressed further into more episodes that excitement ended. Characters are good and performed well but Disney-hotstar need to inspire from Criminal Justice for this series.

Satyaprem Ki Katha
(2023)

Old story but better treatment
Satyaprem Ki Katha has amazing ensemble which give a bigger chance for better entertainment but I think the opportunity is lost. The movie entirely concentrates between two protagonist leaving others without any effective dialogue or scene in the movie.

Kartik Aryan is good in his role and better than his last film Shahzada but when we have seen him in Freddy like movie giving surprise so we can hope for trying something different in the future also apart from his lover boy roles. But he has done a good job and so is the performance of Kiara Advani who did justice to her character. But the movie has more opportunity with other characters which I think has lost.

Lust Stories 2
(2023)

Not better than the first installment
First installment's take on lust is unique and worth watching and I am sure people would still be watching first part again after watching this one.

It do have different stories with different characters some of whom have given nice performances but they are not proving any point neither they are entertaining enough to be memorable. Neena Gupta, Tillotama Shome, Kajol, Tamannah do have some good performances but the stories are not that impactful. Even after having good directors audience not left with surprise or excitement or entertained after watching these short stories. I will rate stories from 1 to 4 as Konkana, Amit Sharma,Sujoy Ghosh and R. Balki.

Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side
(2020)

Thrilling Binge Watch
Asur part 1 was thrilling, full of suspense and have some nice performances but part 2 is perfect sequel to this kind of series. The story derives references from mythology and fits it perfectly in the present time with a mastermind antagonist played by Abhishek Chauhaan of Cubicle fame and Vishesh Bansal (as teenage).

Entire ensemble is up to the mark Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti,Nidhi Dogra,Anupriya Goenka, child artist Atharva as Anant ,etc they all played their part well and keep the audience glued to their seats.

We need more such well researched, written, performed and directed series in our country.
