Kaboom
(2010)

Could have been a good movie if it wasn't for the weird ending
Let's make it straight i'm not 20 year old anymore since a long time ...but this "teen" (?) movie entertained me with joy :^) pretty chicks , good sex humor and lots of pretty guy & girl ..what do you want more ? ..mmmh..euh..well with a good scenario (i mean by that until the end ) i will have rated it 7 or 8 , but the 15 last Mn leave the audience with a strange taste of ? i don't know what . It makes you feel like they already plan a "Kaboom II" ? Or did they ran out of budget with a urgent need to finish it ?. Too bad it could have been very enjoyable film (thought more oriented for teens) and it's only the 2/3 of a good entertaining movie. I rated 6 ( the director should thanks all those beautiful bodies, faces and ..hmmm :^) )

Freight
(2010)

Seems It can turn deaf in France and blind in the UK
Yes i'm french ...and Yes again i also love British Cinema. Hopefully unlike the Italian author cinema the British one is still Alive ! and brings to us from time to time a real jewel : Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch , Swallow Grave, Trainspotting, Revolver,This Is England, Four lions, all the Stanley Kubrick movies etc. Off course there's too many to mention all of them.

So Far from me the will to light up an ancient rivalry or to start another 100 Years War :^)...but i am quit surprise to see that only British reviewer love that movie ( how can it be !).

The only one that i agree with is a Russian cinephile. And if you ask me i can't understand how such a bad movie script, hawfully play by mediocre acting ( and directing i guess ) can be so much positively misjudge .

As a Latin proverb says "love turns you blind !". Perhaps ..! Can't see another plausible explanation.

Watching this movie so dull was a pain for the mind. Even the "action" sequence were boring. I better not say what i think in detail of the script ! Someone says it's a kind of British "Taken" , well to me "Taken" is at best an average action movie with a predictable story. "Freight" is a lot worse than that !. Spare your money guy , rent a video, DL a movie and choose a _real_ movie.

Amer
(2009)

Art & Essai
This movie is a awesome example of camera technique & photography of movie maker. The only pb comes from the lack of interest of the script. It's definitely a masterpiece in picture, color, light, photography, camera movement and angle of vision management. To me it's more "Art" than "Cinema" . The filmmaker is obviously putting camera technique at his best but he should also more consider the storyline. At some point it seems that all those skills in technique are a waste in a quit boredom plot. I will categorize this "Amer" (bitter) in a "Art & Essai" film. Of course past the fascination in the skills of the filmmaker, come the moment when you feel like watching a succession of handsome image & picture ...but it seems pointless because of the lack of interest of the story. Even a slide of beautiful women/men become interest-less ( topless or not !:^) when it last for too long.

I'm still admired of the way "Amer" was shooting but too bad the plot is interest-less.As a cinema lover i can only recommend to have a look for the sake of beauty but don't expect to be entertain. It is definitely not a "blockbuster" Hollywood or bollywood like !. To be short it a very good example of what American call "like a french movie" :^) ( despite it's also part of very good Belgian cinema !) 8/10 for the camera but only 4/10 for the plot

PS : a funny thing i've seen on the statement of the end, someone was "stunt" girl for the scene with an insect . It seem the actress Maria Bos was afraid of spider & Ant :)))) and couldn't let those little thing wander on her skin !

The Tortured
(2010)

Don't worth the time spend to watch it ...
Let's get straight:it's not a good horror not even as a thriller movie! The script is really poor and completely underexploited especially the psychological aspect. By psychological i mean the reaction of people when they had to actually torture a man which is not easy at all. It's a thing to wish Killing/torturing someone ,it's another to did it !. Not mention the end of the movie where it seems they run out of budget and they find a way to solve the (poor) plot in only a few minutes !. As a medic i only find "interesting" the very few torture scene but it won't save a poor movie poorly act poorly directed. Only for fans/enthusiast of that kind of movie (like me !).

The Gingerbread Man
(1998)

So banal !
A very commonplace movie with a predictable scenario. ( by the way how a attorney can be so naive ???? ) An heavily disappointing Robert Altman work. Spare your time without seeing it ! Try
