Howards End
(2017)

Story doesn't hold up well
I haven't read the book that this series was based on, but the story played out here is pretty revolting to a twenty first century girl. Margaret should have kicked this Henry slimeball to the curb soon after meeting him, being the strong, financially independent woman that she was. Other than being rich and handsome he had zero else to offer, and indeed makes life worse for those around him, even for some he can't seem to remember.

I enjoyed the production, scenery and actors, and found it engaging enough to finish the full series. I rooted for all the Schlegel kids, and particularly liked Alex Lawther as Tibby. Having seen the 1992 movie version I was not expecting to like certain characters in the story, but wow. My exposure Matthew Macfadyen suggests that he Is recently being typecast as a real scumbag (see also the series 'Succession'), and a very fine job he does at that, bless his heart.

Dynasty
(2017)

Pleasantly surprised
I hated this series at first. It seemed like a typical corny soap opera with fat-fetched, over-the-top characters and situations. Actually, it's all of that, and but with a sense of humor. I loved Elizabeth Gillies - she made the whole show. She's hilarious and, fortunately, gets to sing cuz she has an amazing voice.

Anyway, got hooked pretty hard on the seasons available on Netflix. I'll try to watch season four as soon as possible.

1 Night in San Diego
(2020)

Way better than IMDb rating says
Super low budget but all the actors in this movie were hilarious as was the dialogue. I wanted to give it a 10 just to bring up the ridiculously low overall rating, but it is a solid 7 for me. I watched this movie because I'm a San Diego girl and was curious to see what their night here would entail. Those girls blew it every step of the way but it was a fun adventure to watch. I'll definitely watch again one day.

Avenue 5
(2020)

Humor falls so flat
I thought Veep was hilarious so I was happy to find this series from the same creator. I like the story on this series but the attempts at humorous dialogue are a bit excruciating to listen to. The failure of the show's fictional stand-up comedian to be funny kind of sum up the real-life dilemma of the whole show. Still, I'll watch season 2 when it's available. Sometimes a series can improve with age.
