Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
(2024)

Like a high 8 if I could buy pushed to a 9 as I would like to see more from this Universe
Film was awesome overall but the ending dragged in my opinion along with the dialogue taking a dip and being cheesey near the end.

Anya Taylor Joy was phenomenal as Furiosa, totally fit the character and added a lot of depth. Alyla Browne as a young Furiosa also had a larger role to play than I thought and was incredible, completely aced the character. Movie was a perfect addition into the Mad Max universe and would love to see other stories as well.

Music was amazing as it pumped the blood and got you involved into the action scenes.

Great cinematography as well, making you feel there, along with fantastic action, especially one good length scene mid-way through the movie which is worth the price of admission alone.

Story was excellent as we learn a lot more about Furiosa and the struggles she had to go through, along with the struggles of the wasteland leading to great world building.

I do believe the end could have been shortened and then the pacing would have been improved overall as it did begin to drag then, tighten it up for a definite 9 or even 10.

Overall, for sure worth the watch.

Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen
(2022)

An insane revival!
Bleach came back in a HUGE way. Massive improvements to art style and animation and the colouring which weren't even any issues in the original, they just made everything better.

A continuation from Bleach, this Thousand Year Blood War arc starts off incredibly strong and fast paced, so much so I got whiplash and then I strapped myself in for the ride. Incredible story that has amazing reveals and an introduction to an array of new characters that are amazing.

Voice acting is top notch, I previously didn't like the new Kenpachi Zaraki voice actor but definitely has grown on me, everyone brings their A game and it's really good to hear Ichigos voice again.

Music is also top notch, some moments all you can focus on is the music, scene stealers sometimes but my God does the story hold up every second of every episode.

Pacing is incredible, basically no downtime and constantly epic fights or new twist reveals or amazing next steps happening, Tite Kubo has outdone himself here.

Very much looking forward to all the new seasons!

Bleach: Burîchi
(2004)

A great anime and worth your time
I would give like an 8/10 for the show including fillers but near a 10/10 without. There's some questionable moments for sure but honestly it's completely outweighed by the hype and great characters.

Fantastic music first of all, soundtracks that becomes iconic after listening to them for 300 plus episodes and you'll never get tired of it.

Great animation as well, holds up the whole way, they do it smart and manage to save extra frames for fights so there's really good moment.

The first major arc in the story that is built to, the soul society arc, is top tier and incredibly hype, Introduction of all sorts of new characters and powers, great stakes and reveals all give an incredibly compelling and 10/10 first major arc. I would advise watching the next big arc which is the Bounty despite it being filler as it fit in quite well, then leave all fillers after as they ruin the pacing however you could also skip the Bounty arc for better pacing overall.

I watched the English Dub and an all around great cast for voice actors, literally everyone nails their role; voice actor for Kenpachi Zaraki changed at one point which was out of left field as he is my favourite character however I think it gets fixed later.

Worth the watch and now I am on my way to Thousand Year Blood War!

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver
(2024)

Better than the first for sure
I thought the first Rebel Moon was alright, showed promise as a universe. Script needed to be tighter and that's what they did here. The universe always had interesting elements and I want way more, love TV series across multiple aspects of it; politics, war, diplomacy. Hopefully they expand.

Part 2 fleshes out the characters with more breathing time and the action is great imo, what Zack is best at, some moments were heartfelt too.

The universe was more fleshed out with backstories, you could see inspirations from various points in history, Rome and industrial revolution specifically. Plan was good on the ground and each had some moments to shine.

All in all, I do wish the script was like this from Part 1, would have been tighter but for sure want more from this universe.

VFX was great, acting good, sounds design good along with in universe weapons.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
(2021)

Fantastic MCU show expanding on the characters of Bucky and Sam!
Incredibly well directed and written touching on a lot of themes.

Expanded the characters of Bucky and Sam incredibly well too, providing much needed and much more depth than I ever thought they had. Both had great character arcs to grow and to beginning fitting into the shoes of heroes more so, for Sam especially important as taking up the mantle of Captain America proper after Steve left it to him.

The villain was meh, she was greatly well acted but was meh by the end however for a first season villian, totally and completely fits to propel the other characters!

Action scenes were great.

Went into this show expecting mediocre but came out blown away by the amount of added characterisation and new characters, particularly John!

10/10.

Eternals
(2021)

As an MCU movie, amazing!
Thought it was great! Only just got into the phase 4 binge for the MCU

Loved the directing, gave it quite the grounded feel and the cinematography, some shots were just gorgeous

The mythos and lore to do with the eternals is amazing, being some ancient figures or people that spawned legends, they were all quirky and great characterisation for the amount of characters in this one movie, all memorable and their interactions so deffo a good team movie

The action scenes great, especially Ikaros with his flight and the speedster, Athena has some really cool choreography as well

The story was pretty damn good to, the twist of the Celestials and the evolving deviants and Ikaros, the comedy scenes are done quite well too

Honestly loved it, like a 10/10 for the MCU.

Loki
(2021)

Absolutely fire of 2 seasons, imo the best thing the MCU has produced next to infinity war and Endgame
Incredible, all across the board, this is a reviews for 2 seasons and no spoilers

Best performance by Tom Huddleston, incredible acting by him and across the board by everyone on the cast, also special shout out for the actress who played Sylvie

Added an incredible amount of depth towards Loki's character that was unprecedented to me, instantly shot him up to one of my favourite characters ever and definitely within the MCU, many of the characters in the show have great evolution or a great end to their character arc, along with the plot also being an incredible driving factor in all of this with fantastic consequences

The music and sound design is also great, especially the main theme for this show, always hits hard when it pops out

The set design and special effects were also fantastic.

Dune: Part Two
(2024)

The best sci-fi film
One of the best cinema experiences I've ever had, watched it three times back to back within 3 days so I can say this with my personal, utmost bias and clear thoughts.

A direct continuation from Part 1, which is absolutely recommended and required to watch. Following Paul's house being destroyed and being forced to take cover with the Fremen, it follows Paul's insertion and ascension to the Prophet mentioned and how he engrains himself into the Fremen culture and move pieces across the galaxy board.

Story wise, impeccable. Every scene adds something enriching from connecting characters to progressing themes or plots or adding or introducing characters. Dennis nailed and refined the script to make every scene captivating. It also includes some of the best sci-fi visuals I've ever seen, the home world of the Harkonens with the black sun leading to the rest of the people having white skin was incredible awe-inspiring. Paul's personal growth was incredible, from becoming a Fremen via various tasks like riding a sand worm to the immediate switch when he drank the Water of Life switching the pacing to another height entirely. Incredible growth from major characters especially Paul's mother and Chani besides Paul whilst also expanding among other large characters in the Dune universe such as the Emporer and the Na-Baron Feyd, the Baron's nephew.

Acting, A+ from literally everyone across the board. Not one lacking, everyone brought their utmost to every role, no matter how minor and it's incredible to see considering how many big actors are in the roles.

The cinematography and visuals were on another level this movie, I would highly recommend IMAX, anything else would reduce the movie's quality. The cinematographer did their best work ever with many of the shots and scenes becoming iconic already; concise and clear, never wobbly with the greatest visuals imagery in any sci-fi movie.

Sound design also impeccable, honestly this may be considered the best aspect from the movie perspective. Every boom, bass, just completely gripped you into the world, helps it stand out and be remembered long after the movie has ended.

TL;DR: best in literally aspect a movie could be, worth many rewatches and in IMAX. A mighty achievement of a sci-fi movie and just any movie generally and will become an all-time classic. Dennis Villeneuve once again proves he's one of the best directors working today and my personal favourite.

Halo
(2022)

Started of a mixed bag and has now come into it's own at S2 Ep 4
As mentioned, this is a review at S2 EP 4 which was phenomenal imo, great action, touching scenes, some questionable choices but very minor imo

I know there's one big thing most Halo fans might not like but it's a universe based of halo, no a 1:1 recreation so remember that

Main actor for John is perfect, it would have been nice to keep the helmet on more season 1 but I didn't mind by the end, it was nice seeing some of Chief's touching moments, S2 a great start so far

There's a couple story lines I don't like, mainly Makes and Kwan's character as I can't see how that would fit in and seems to detract from the more important stuff and what we came here to see, Chief, the UNSC and the covenant

I'm not a big halo lore nut or anything but know of it, I'm interested to see where the changes lead, defo some storylines feel added in for TV purposes

Acting all around good, sound design and set work good, CGI imo is good considering how much they gotta do, none of it looks jank

Overall, as a series so far, 8/10, S2 so far is a 9/10 and I hope they keep it up, S2 EP4 defo the best of the the entire series so far

I would like them to take note, this is more of what we want, like S2 EP4: John Master Chief, his team, his interactions with marines, the politics with ONI is fine but tbh they make ONI look stupid as hell lol, UNSC overall and more covenant combat and parts into their society (just not Makee imo as off now, she had a natural end in S1, should have kept that)

Narcos
(2015)

Favourite series of all time
Stellar performances all around from every actor, incredible scenarios and mind-numnlingly good TV that puts you on the edge of your seat. All based on a real story, the truth.

Tells the story of the drug war against the Medellin Cartel and Cali Cartel and the incredible dangers, skills and bravery people had to good through to bring them down. Also the obscene amount of corruption that can be caused by money alone; bringing down nations and killing thousands of innocence.

Every scene is as captivating as the last making you want to binge it with a fantastic finale and final season, culminating to an excellent show.

Gojira -1.0
(2023)

GREAT FILM
TL:DR great film overall, phenomenally well made and exactly what I've been looking for in a Godzilla/ Monster movie

Directing/photography: Incredible, no wasted scenes, great shots, fantastic pacing, just perfect imo

Story: Very good, competently well made, no downsides or "stupid moments", characters were great with a great character arc for the main character. The only reason I have a 9 overall and not 10 is that the story would need more "depth" but that's un-needed for this type of movie, if it had a 10/10 then.

Designs: Perfect, Godzilla looked creepy as hell and everything around added to the aesthetic of the time period set post WW2.

Music: Great, using the iconic Godzilla theme, when it came on it fit in and felt perfect. The rest of the music fit in as well.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire
(2023)

Enjoyed it to a degree
So, first of all the TL:DR, the lore and world seem really interesting and would benefit greatly from a TV series, the movie's plot itself is alright, meh.

I would give the movie script itself 6/10 but raised a point as I actually want more from this world, the lore seems really interesting and cool to see so 7/10.

Acting: great, had no qualms, stand outs imo are Sofia Boutella as the main character, she was great and much better than what I would have thought from the trailers, along with of course Anthony Hopkins voice acting although his role is brief in this part.

Story: Absolutely meh, felt rushed and garbled, very quick, sometimes break neck speeds. This story would have muuuch better benefitted from a TV series that allowed each character and backstory breath as some of them sounded interested; also we teleport from planet to planet sometimes.

A good twist involved, basic boss fight at the end. All in all alright but more excited for part 2.

Music: seemed cool but can't remember a stand out, maybe one but need to recheck the soundtrack to fit but the music did fit in well into the universe.

Design: Very cool, mix of practical and CG that blended quite well giving quite phenomenal shots. This universe looks well lived in, very cool already iconic weapons and ship designs.

Directing/photography: As mentioned in the prior paragraph, some great shots, good directing in terms of at least consistent pace, I believe Zack kept as much or the necessary scenes as needed to make the film "work" but it barely does as it feels rushed: defo needed a series.

The Terminal List
(2022)

Incredible all across the board
The acting, directing, had no idea Chris Pratt could do a serious diverse role, barely any stupid decisions in the show, enough to make it negligible so really good writing.

All in all, a great spec ops/black ops/ terrorist style show that delved into the mind of soldiers.

First of all, directing. Fantastic shots and pacing, nothing unclear, all clearly told and easy to follow while providing great vistas.

Acting top notch across the board with some real tear jerker moments.

Writing, great characters and as the mystery unfolds you see some of their motivations and it makes sense from their pov rather than some one-dimenssional stuff.

Jack Ryan
(2018)

Amazing spy espionage with some great action
Did not expect John Krasinski to be as good as he is here but he nails the role of someone attempting to keep their morality across all the chaos.

Every episode is meaningful as in it adds something and is never dull.

Every season was great, not necessarily top notch as there were a few faults with writing here and there but acting top notch along with the special effects and designs on set.

A varied locale and story per season that was engaging. Personally Season 4, the finale season was the best, then 1, 3 and 2 but 2 was average, not bad.

All in all, worth the watch, action, twists, espionage, betrayals, set ups, good character progression. Enjoyed it very much and one of those shows that leaves you with wanting more.
