Minecraft
(2009)

A Unique Sandbox
Minecraft has been a staple for online gaming. The constant updates, such as the recent cherry blossom update, makes the game exciting to play. I would like to see updates for new food items and new craftable items as well. The different game modes and singleplayer/mutliplayer modes add a new layer of depth to the amount of things you can do in the game. The achievements also help with this as well. However, there should be more goals in the game, other than beating the Ender Dragon. It would be interesting to see what kind of goals would be added in the future updates of the game. Overall, Minecraft is enjoyable and awesome.

Dogs in Space
(2021)

Barktastic!
This show combines cute animated dogs and space action filled with fantasy violence. The characters are relatable and the plot ages well with modern kid's cartoons. Even though the age rating is TV-Y7 for me in the United States, this cartoon is also enjoyable for an older audience. There is also a diverse section of dog breeds, like Corgis and Boston Terriers. A storyline of what happens in the dogs' space base mashed with dogs fighting space monsters makes for an interesting and conceptually stunning show. The cinematography in this show also ages well with the modern era of kids cartoons. However, it would be nice to dig deep into the dogs' personal lives and how they play into the show.

Drink Masters
(2022)

Visually Stunning Concept
I have rewatched this series and the cinematography is stunning and holds up well in this modern era of reality television. The selection of judges for this competition is awesome and the judges really are the masters of their craft. The diversity of the cast is great. However, there could have been more diversity from the cast, including those outside of North America. The cast selected for this show are really the masters of their craft. Watching the cast create amazing and visually compelling cocktails is the reasons that this show was rewatched on my end. After rewatching this, I had no guilt at all.

Dragon City
(2012)

Rawr!
The concept of this game is amazing, as it encourages users to collect as many dragons as they can. There are a lot of fun unlockable features and fun dragons to collect along the way. The graphics and animation styles in this game are of the best quality. The variety of dragons you can collect and the different dragons to get after breeding some of your own dragons is a unique feature to this game as well. However, because of the game's age, some of the interactive features are a bit outdated. Overall, this game is interesting and it's a great game for collecting different creatures and having them battle with each other.

Tian Guan Ci Fu
(2020)

Intriguing!
The animation in this series is beautiful, especially with the intro! The complex folklore that follows as well is especially intriguing. However, the plot was a bit repetitive and some of the characters were a bit lackluster. Overall, there is a lot of actionable and interesting content in this previous Netflix series. This series makes me want to read the book and learn more about the fictional universe that the characters live in. There's a lot to learn and discover when watching this series and I hope that Netflix adds it again to their diverse selection of series. For now, feel free to check out the book!

Kim's Convenience
(2016)

Quirky and Funny with Teachable Moments
This show is charming and most of the raunchy jokes will make you laugh. Mr. Kim is especially one of the characters that will make you laugh the most with his easy-going yet stubborn character. It's also amazing how you see shots with members of the Kim Family and their daily lives while focusing on Mr. And Ms. Kim themselves. Mr and Ms. Kim try to interact and get to know their customers better, despite their backgrounds. It's very heartwarming to see. Enrique and Mr. Metha are great examples of this. You also get to learn more about Toronto and Korean culture while being engrossed into the interesting story line. However, there are some offensive moments where there are stereotypes. These stereotypes are also teachable, which enhance plot. It's a great and laughable Canadian sitcom.

Fizzy's Lunch Lab
(2009)

Colorful Cooking meets PBSKids
I absolutely loved this web series and the games that came with it. This series encouraged kids to eat healthy in a non-forceful way. Because this series was focused on healthy eating, I was encouraged to try foods like falafel, gyros, and sushi. I've never seen a web series (other than this one) that combines catchy music and eye-appealing games in such a fun and creative way. It was one of the more memorable series of PBSKIds (along with WordGirl ofc) because of the eye-appealing thematic elements. I would definitely recommend this to any kid who is wanting to learn more about eating habits. Kudos to PBSKids for creating yet another wonderful show.

The Amazing Digital Circus
(2023)

Let's Get Right Into the Show!
This web series is very tragic and surreal at the same time. However, it does have that circus-like feel with being dragged into the crazy antics the characters get into. I really do like despite being TV-PG, the characters' swearing is censored in a creative way. There's also such a likeable cast of characters that make you want to watch this series more. However, the series was left on such a cliffhanger and I would like to know what happens next. The surreal horror makes me want to watch this more, despite not being a fan of the genre. I would recommend this to horror geeks/nerds and people who get nostalgic from looking at circuses.

Barbie
(2023)

Masculinity/Femininity at it's finest~
I was really excited to see this movie in theaters. It takes a well-loved franchise and turns it into a quirky smash-hit. There is also a lot of racial representation and there is a character who is a wheelchair user as well. I think this movie did a good job portraying mental health challenges as well. The scene portraying a Barbie doll who sits on the couch eating junk food also made me laugh and it was memorable. I remember talking about that scene a lot after the movie. I enjoyed the use of many pastels and the music is also catchy and adds to the plot. However, there are references to death and women's health issues. This movie isn't recommended for younger kids, but it's definitely recommended for older fans of Mattel's famous doll line.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
(1999)

Alternate Universe South Park
South Park is infamous for it's satire. It's especially present in this raunchy movie featuring our favorite South Park boys. However, this movie takes it to the next level and plays with the idea of Terrance and Phillip being a violent piece of media for the classic South Park gang. The comedic nature of the boys sneaking to see an R-rated movie, despite being underage, really teaches the audience about exposure to media meant for an older audience through storytelling and action. However, scenes featuring constant war could be toned down, as they are filled with malice. They weren't as enjoyable as the other scenes. Therefore, it's an enjoyable movie oding to the classic South Park franchise.

Bee & Puppycat: Lazy in Space
(2022)

Cozy and Sweet
This show is very cozy and I really like the anime vibes that it has along with it. Every episode felt like you were transported in the world. It feels enjoyable watching Bee and Puppycat get up to crazy antics while they were completing tasks for TempBot. Each mission felt colorful and psychedelic, while being suitable for the eye. The characters also added a lot to show, as each character has a distinct personality. I really enjoyed Howell and Crispin the most because they were the most stoic, while opening up to the people they felt most comfortable with. I would definitely recommend this show for someone who likes Adventure Time or something similar.

Atsumare doubutsu no mori
(2020)

Mayhaps a bit too consumeristic?
I was so excited when I got this game as a present in May of 2020! I saw a lot of the game play on YouTube and I was constantly thinking about my island. While the ease of play is nice and understandable, there are a lot of features that you would have to buy to make the experience more enjoyable, including the DLC, Amiibo Cards, and Nintendo Online. I think that having these consumeristic features in the game makes it more P2P, rather than F2P and it gives F2P players a disadvantage. Other than all of the buyable features, I really like how there is a lot to do in the game, like fishing, bug hunting, completing collections, and expanding your island. The events are also a fun touch. Overall, I would recommend this game for someone who has completionist urges.

WordGirl
(2007)

Word Up it's WordGirl~
This show is a massive W. I feel like there needs to be more shows like this on PBS Kids because it teaches kids new words in such a creative way, while providing a plot line that is compelling and keeps the viewer on the edge of their feet. The show also did it's best to teach kids new words that aren't basic like "arc," or "computer." They did their best to teach kids words like "allure," or "dazzling," and I appreciate that. I also appreciated that the narrator was genuinely funny, while also adding to the story. He didn't take away from it, like most cartoon/book narrators. While teaching kids words and keeping them entertained, they also provided lots of representation that is needed in a kids show. Kudos to the creators for creating such a good and educational show.
