Great premise, ok execution
The premise is great and the ending of the season is super ballsy, however the main dude (the stalker) has a very boring voice and about 80-90% of the show is voice over by him so you can see how that can be a problem. some people will point out that is how he is supposed to sound (emotionless and monotone) but a good example is dexter and how his stream of consciousness sounded.

there are also almost no secondary story arcs, and the ones there just don't last or go anywhere. now that might be because it is like that in the book(s) but then it wasn't adapted too well since tv shows are structured differently than books. and since you have only 1 story arc going on most of the time, the show constantly loses steam especially towards the middle of the season when i had to force myself to get thru a few episodes.

the characters are extremely stereotypical and one dimensional. and everyone is in love with books and keeps name dropping obscure books and authors. now i love books and read a lot but this is just dumb.

but the premise is very strong and the season ending was very cool, but with a few problems. they basically didn't show a very important moment, and i do not get why.

overall i did enjoy the show a lot, and after it ended I was a bit distrought which is very good. there was some really boring episodes but overall worth it.

Makes up with a heart
Hi everyone, I really really enjoyed the first season. Granted, as some have said in their reviews, there are some plotholes... however the show has so much heart in it that i pretty much didn't notice/mind. The characters are really really fun, the dialog is hilarious, and there is scarcely a scene where you are not either balling on the floor or tense as hell. Ezra, Jules, and Richarch are so funny together, and Maddie is just amazing. There are some reviwers that compare this show to other con shows such as sneaky pete and good behavior but I think this one pretty much gives them at least a very good fight. I also think this is very different than those two since good behavior is a very dark drama, and sneaky pete while a dark comedy is very different. I can't really say sneaky pete is even a con show per se since it is more about a smart cheater in a very different setting. personally i can relate more to this since it is set in a big cities and the things the protagonists go thru are a lot more worldly and human. all in all if you want to laugh your butt off i highly recommend it.

other shows i've enjoyed like this one would be iZombie, Supernatural and Lucifer... and I know those might seem like very different genres but there is a common thread between all three - the people making them are having a lot of fun and i just can't help but have fun watching them.

Stranger Things

Amazing
Only saw the first episode and was floored. Had to review this!

Story is awesome and the characters are freaking good. I mean for everyone that has watched anything they know how bad child actors are from the Walking Dead to the strain and basically every other show where there is a child actor... not here, i mean, they were freaking awesome. It is been so long with Carls and Maxes and whatever other **** child actors.

Then there are the the props and direction, it is like watching a genuine freaking 80s stuff.

so freaking good! max thumbs, tomatoes, freshness, whatever! bye

The Strain
(2014)

Very nice
The pilot looked very promising and it just started getting better and better. The story is very nice and the effects are quite good for cable television.

The acting is nice but is not the main point of the show, some characters are not as believable as they should but generally it is pretty good.

Of course I am a little biased since this like apocalypse stuff + vampires + fallen angels and all kind of stuff that I love.

Anyhow if you don't like the genre then don't watch it just because of Del Torro. It is not like super original and incredible enough to make a fan of someone that is not a fan of the genre.
