Altered Carbon: Shadow of a Doubt
(2020)
Episode 4, Season 2

I keep waiting for it to get better
I keep waiting for it to get better but it only gets worse. The series is nothing without Joel Kinnaman and Martha Higareda. You need at least one of these leads to carry the story.

Kovacs has absolutely no depth, no hidden compassion, just a self centered aggressive prick. Falcon without a shield. He has no range and no connection.

Poe is the only character that makes this season watchable, except when Kovass is verbally abusing him.

You Could At Least Try
You could at least try to act remotely like Tak since you're supposed to just be in a new sleeve. Instead this Tak is an angry, flat character with no redeeming characteristics in his personality. Tak was emotionally complex. This actor is just not right and the allure of this show is gone.

Boring.

More Episodes Please
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 6 episodes then Covid hit. I'm assuming that's why there aren't more. Bring it back!

Season 2 Soars!
I will admit that I wasn't a huge fan of this show at the beginning but it grew on me. I gave it a solid 6.

And then came Season 2 which is just simply put, a masterpiece. The complexity of the storyline, the intensity of the acting, the mystery of the prophecy and the hilarious and brilliant interaction between Divis and Cait is just incredible. It's stunning to watch as well if only for the beauty of the scenery, costumes and more. This season also has a bit more levity mixed with the gore which is a welcome break from some very intense scenes.

Just watch it!

Supernatural: Carry On

Goodbye Boys
Episode 19 Inherit the Earth would have made the perfect series finale.

They really should have stopped there. This was a completely unnecessary and rushed ending. It's nice to have them live happily ever after (well die happily ever after) but completely not in keeping with the show. But, at least there was pie.

Goodbye boys. I am now in The Empty.

Until I start season 1 episode 1 and watch all over again.

The Epitome of Arrogant Annoying Americans Abroad
Ugh so hard to watch without cringing. Is that the intention? If so, they nailed it.

Ozark: Fire Pink
(2020)
Episode 9, Season 3

Phenomenal Depth
Tom Pelphrey blew this out of the lake water with his phenomenal depth of character in this episode. The genius writing and his dynamic acting really highlight the twisted juxtaposition of "normal" vs "crazy." I know people who feel and see the world the way this character does and he nailed it.

Horrible in Every Way
A right-wing high-jack of a cult classic. Take the non-popular kids and turn them into the popular kids, make jocks and rich girls the bullied ones and the diverse gay, fat or arty and "politically correct" ones the bullies. Anyone who has set foot in a high school lately would see what complete BS this is.

This is a complete waste of time.

Entertaining
I'm an avid fan of paranromal investigation shows which have become a bit stale on the premise. This show offers a completely new and original premise that is actually rather fascinating. As some other reviewers said Season 1 has parts that may seem a bit stiff and rehearsed sounding but after all, there are some reinactments and storytelling by the people who reportedly experienced the activity, not professional actors. The premise of the show is that several haunting are happening in a quant and picturesque West Virginia town rife with history. They do a good job of tying in history and research and don't rely on the cliched "what was that?! " and "oh my god!" exclamations.

Season 2 is even better! The premise in this season is that the paranormal activity has spread to nearby towns. It pulls you along tying the paranormal activity together into a pretty believable story. This is a well organized storyline that is both entertaining, intriguing and chilling. If this were the storyline of a horror movie, it would be a hit. This is one of the most original paranormal investigator shows out there.

Skins: Tony

Seriously Terrible and Shallow Remake
Why is it we feel we have to rip off UK series and turn them "American?" This so called American version is such a poor imitation of the original its extremely difficult to watch. Its poorly cast, badly acted (aside from the actor playing "Stanley") and lacking the complexity and depth that the UK series captured. I don't have this on good authority but it appears to be filmed in Canada and the accents are clearly Canadian. The actor playing Tony is so lifeless its pathetic.

All the comparisons aside, I can't help but think if I didn't see the UK series first, I would have yawned through this one or turned the channel.
