After watching the original 1958 "The Long Hot Summer" with Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Lee Remick, Arson Wells, Angela Lansbury and Anthony Franciosa I would title this TV nonsense "The Long Cold Winter" Don Johnsson is no actor so do yourself a favor and watch the 1958 original to find out the superb performance by the cast, the fine directions by Martin Ritt, the beautiful Baton Rouge locations, the classic writing and off course the great soundtrack by Alex North. Just watching the beautiful Lee Remick and Joanne Woodward is enough treat, and will make you don't want to look to another woman they're truly two American peach pies.

Great movie, well written script and beautifully directed by a new director Shainee Gabel with top performances by John Travolta and Scarlet Johansson. We need more artistic movies like this. Way to go and thanks Shainee Gabel. Unfortunately Hollywood was hijacked by a money hungry lazy dumb heads who'd rather not hire good writers instead they pocket the fees and put out stupid sequels, and crappy special effects movies with disgusting flesh, blood and gore. Hollywood is following the footsteps of television production and it's stupid what they call it realty TV, which nothing more than prostitution and pimping on what it suppose to be a family television.
