Love Action Drama
(2019)

Total Waste of a film
No Love, No Drama and terrible action.

This film is a total waste. I watched it for Nayantara. But even she couldnt save this sinking ship.

Awful!
Shankar disappoints bigtime. A film just for graphics without any soul whatsoever.

Boring and not worth the money. When will these people realize that graphics should further the story not the other way around..

Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall
(2017)
Episode 6, Season 7

Worst Written Episode of the Series
For me it is the worst written episode of the entire series...

There are lot of stupid writing for this episode and I am left wondering whether the writers get carried away by the success of the show.

First of all... Assembling the team itself felt a little unimaginative. Are you telling me that the wildings captured the Hound, and the brotherhood without the banners without a proper fight in the first place? It would be a lot better if instead of all going together as a team, Jon's team had met with the brotherhood beyond the wall.

From the first episode, the night watch rangers always go beyond the wall on horses. And somehow the King in the North and the former lord commander decided to go on foot for this suicide mission. If they would have gone on horses gendry rushing back towards the wall at least would have made more sense (although it doesn't make any sense at all).

Also gendry comes to the wall send an express raven to daenerys and daenerys comes for the rescue and all... all this feels idiotic and stupid. Gendry left when the wights starts attacking, and he has to run back all the way to the wall and then send a raven to Dragonstone and then daenerys somehow managed to come with her dragons beyond the wall on time. Also note that she doesn't know the North and it is the first time she is riding north. Unless she had a GPS tracker on somebody it doesn't make any sense. If you are saying so many hours passed in between, then the north is not as cold as it shows for the lake to be frozen.

Jon and his team were ideally waiting in the middle for the lake to be frozen. Instead they should have broken the ice and created a circle around them as a barrier for wights. That would have made more sense for the time that passed.

Instead of all this Gendry-Raven-Daeneys business, they could have shown that daenerys herself decided to see if Jon is telling the truth or decided to support his expedition on her own and could have shown she left dragonstone before even the wights started attacking.

Also when Beric says we can kill the Night King and all the wights will be dead, Jon says No, we need one to take back to King's Landing. Come on, if the Night King is dead the war is literally over, They don't need to take back anything south, then. STUPID! STUPID STUPID Dialogue...

Now when the Night King took his ice spear in hand, we could clearly see that Drogon was on ground while everybody started climbing on him. The better aim for the night king is obviously a bigger Drogon on the ground rather than a smaller flying Visereon. Yet somehow he decided to throw at Visereon. A better scenario will be that the Night King arrived after dany reaches the north and after she starts carrying of everybody and he only has visereon to aim at.

I would have imagined that after Visereon died, Dany and Drogon would have gone mad and would have lit the entire place on fire and then when the night king starts picking up the spear they fled. But instead all we got was a roar from drogon and a look from Dany.

Benjen sacrificing himself for Jon doesn't make any sense at all as well. He had enough time to carry Jon on his horse and flee. Remember how he rescued bran and meera on the same horse.

After i watched this episode, i was utterly disappointed with the writing of this episode. It felt forced which never happened with GOT (except for Dorne scenes in season5). Add to the fact that the penultimate episode have always been the best and they decided to do this. Dan and David should understand that special effects and all the budget is only secondary and the primary thing that needs to be outstanding is the writing. That is the one thing we all fell in love with in the first place.

I also hate to see Tyrion been sidelined. He was a much intelligent person and much better written character until this season.

One of the good thing about this episode is Sansa and Arya going against each other. Arya was the favorite character for a lot of fans and after watching this episode, I believe most of them will like Sansa more than Arya.

Hope we have a better season finale.

Truly worth watching!!!
KG George has never failed to amuse me as a director (with the exception of Elavancode Desam). This film is no different. Here the director focus on an autobiographical tale of a prostitute but shown through the people around her during the investigation of her murder. The script is well written and if somebody asks about the genre of this film, it will be hard to explain. It is a Drama, a Thriller, and a Biography simultaneously. The work by which the director has unfold his story is praiseworthy. This film can be explained as a mixture of yavanika and kariyilakkattupole. And as always after watching a KG George film, I feel sorry for the industry that he is not making films anymore...

The movie that makes you engraved into your soul
KG George is one director who never fail to impress me. I was searching this movie for a long time. And finally when i watched it, it was worth the waiting. The story revolves around a village and follows the path of a beautiful young innocent woman (Menaka) and how the villagers write her fate. Every character in the film is well written. The characterization in this film is one among the best ever written for Malayalam screen. After watching the film, you will remember every character for a long time. The boat rider Paili, the landlord Nair, the tea shop of keshavan and the rowdy Paramu. The female characters chantha mariya and eliyamma and their disputes stand aside in the film and rajam k nair did a wonderful job enacting maria. Venu nagavally's character drives the film along after the initial stage and all the characters and incidents leads the story into a climax that will give you throat-ache. Once the film is finished you will sit back and wonder about the quality of film you just watched. And you will eventually exclaim why KG George is not making films anymore?

The Indian 300!!!!
I have heard a lot about this film, even though i didn't know Telugu. So as soon as i got the chance to watch this film , i saw it and was stunned. Though it is basically a remake of the Jackie Chan starrer film San wa (The Myth) it is far better than the original. Actually what the director did was that he used all the usual Telugu movie clichés and raised his film into an extraordinary visual treat...

The computer graphics used in this film is one of the best i have seen in Indian screen. The artwork and visuals of Udhaigar was mind blowing. I thought that i was watching an English Movie. But there were some scenes were the graphics looked very ordinary especially in the modern day scenes.

The story was pretty effective in Indian Screen. As for we are related to the reincarnation theme.

Ram Charan Teja looked too good for a 2 movie old star. Kajal Agarwal was also perfect.

Srihari did a wonderful job. As far as i'm concerned he is the show stealer.

The music is one thing that let me down though the background score and the Udhaigar song was awesome...

All credits go to SS Rajamouli for this film and it is a must watch for all the Indian movie fans.

Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha
(2009)

Best work of Renjith till date!!!
First of all, hats of to "Renjith & Crew" for this excellent masterpiece....

As i heard that Renjith is making the film, i read the novel... To tell the truth, I didn't think anyone could make the novel a decent movie... the novel was basically so complex... but on seeing the film i changed my opinion.. though it misses out on several aspect of the novel, i really liked the movie...

The casting was so perfect that no one will feel that the majority of the cast were fresh faces.

Mammootty is like wine that get better and better with age.. not only for his acting, but also his choice of roles.

There were some memorable scenes like the one shot in which Manikyam is both seen entering and leaving (as a corpse) Paleri... And the other memorable scene is when Keshavan says To Haridas that he is just a barber

The whole film revolves around one character and that is Ahamed Haji. The real beauty of the film is that Ahamed Haji has got only 5-6 scenes. His character is actually developed through the others voices..

But the one scene that really misses out from the novel is the scene in which Ahammed Haji asks the barber to cut his pubic hair. It would be better if Renjith included that scene in the movie...

Also i don't like the third Mammootty role...it would be better if that role is just mentioned and not really shown..

There was some differences from the novel though that are quite acceptable...

Anyway, this is the best Work of Renjith till date!!!

Thalapathi
(1991)

superb till climax!!!!!!!!!!!
first of all, let me remind u the climax of this film is not the one you've actually seen. In the original climax it was Deva who avenges the death of his 'Thalapathi'. It would be a far better film if it had stayed that way, unfortunately it was not meant to be.....

apart from these, it is a real classic....

hats of to some brilliant technical and acting performances!!!! Santosh Sivan proves why he is considered among the top class cinematographer with every frame..

melody king Ilayaraja is as usual excellent!! the theme music he created was awesome!!! from the acting point of view, undoubtedly this is Rajnikanth's best performance..

Mammootty is brilliant as usual. If it had been the original climax, he would have scored more...

Arvindswamy, Banupriya and shobana are good too.

But the standout performance for me in this film is Srividhya...

Maniratnam is the best director in India...

Thalappavu
(2008)

Madhpal, hats off to you!!
There are certain films that are a whole way ahead of its time. Thalappavu is one of them.

The so called malayalam film critics may think only adoor's films are best, but this one is a gem. It's way above Adoor's 'Naalu Pennunghal'

Never in any frame it look liked a debut director's venture..

Don't go by the rating.. this film will be considered a classic in the future..

It is a story of a man who has committed one mistake (and only one) in his lifetime and how his life turn over him after that. Madhupal has done a great job with a great script. hats off to him..

Lal has given the lifetime best performance and Prithviraj was good as usual.

Background score was awesome.

well Madhpal, Give me more....

Abhiyum Naanum
(2008)

Awesome!
The Prakash Raj-Radha Mohan team is back after the much acclaimed "Mozhi" And it's one of the best comedy i've seen in recent pasts.... those who think of the usual slapstick comedy the best, think again...

Prakash Raj shoulders this film all alone..... He steals the show right from the beginning..... the script was awesome and so was the direction.

And the one actor who stands apart was Kumaravel as Ravi Shastri..

It is one of the rare movies where everything comes to place...

There are some fabulous scenes in the movie.. the scene where Trisha asks Prakash Raj to give her his shirt, the seen where Prakash Raj first see his Son in law, the seen with Kumaravel in the hotel, the list is endless....

Go watch it! It will entertain and will make you think....
