Wristcutters: A Love Story
(2006)

Quite Possibly The Best Mistake I Have Ever Made!
I actually found this film about a month ago, mistaking it for something else. However I sat down and watched it anyway, and was almost instantly captivated. I once heard someone say that all the creativity in the world has been used up and everything is becoming either re-makes or one enormous copy-cat act. This film alone makes me completely disregard this cynicism and has reclaimed my faith in the art of film. The sheer brilliance and originality of the story flawlessly molds with the cleverly assembled array of characters to make something any one can enjoy. It carefully covers each necessary component a great film needs, for a good laugh, a fun and inspiring sense of adventure, the right amount of drama, and just the right touch of romance. It even features a great soundtrack; which I was surprised to find, features one of my all-time favorite bands Gogol Bordello (the character Eugene is based on the band's vocalist Eugene Hutz). On top of it all, this film has great replay value, to watch over again for no matter what mood you may be in.

Filth and Wisdom
(2008)

Well, to be realistic...
You can actually get pretty good insight by looking at an unwashed pair of underpants. You can tell a lot about a person by studying their hygiene habits. Also by noticing either an abundance or lack of stains, faults, holes, tears, overall condition, even what kind of underpants they are. So this tells me you don't know much about gaining insight from anything unless it's put in very literal terms for your struggling mind to understand. Anyone can sound like an expert on the internet, but I can tell by your forced attempts of using advanced vocabulary that you're not at all what you attempt to be. So don't waste peoples' time by trying to help them with deceiving remarks hiding your misunderstanding. Perhaps I am biased because I am a fan of Eugene Hutz, but I find it hard to believe anyone could get nothing out of this film. Sure anyone who dislikes Madonna will disregard it simply because of a childish hatred, but I do not care for her myself, and I still thoroughly enjoyed this film. Rarely do I comment films based on my opinion, and even more rarely do I rate one 10 out of 10 stars. I do this because I feel this film has been very misunderstood and unappreciated, as do I feel that the extremely biased general media has given it a bad hype it does not deserve. So I hope others may watch it with an open mind, and disregard your personal opinions of the crew and cast, and watch it as a film, and nothing more. If you do that there is really something to be appreciated here.

What We Do Is Secret
(2007)

Great depiction
This movie was great, both to inform people who care to learn, and people who are already interested in the subject and punks in general. I read a comment in here that said this movie was too "clean" and that punks were "scum and proud". If this is a reason to dislike this movie then you obviously are not seeing things how you're supposed to. The whole mind set of punks is being themselves and being individual because they feel that's what is right. In their minds they're not doing anything wrong; in their minds, they were the ones who were truly clean, where as the high and mighty assholes of society living their fake lives were the ones who were scum and proud. This film is through the viewpoint of the punks, to better relate to them. Keep that in mind when watching this film, it isn't like every other punk movie spat out by the media to show how outrageous and unethical punk is, whoring it like it's some kind of circus act, if you're looking for that in a punk movie, you're missing the point and should steer clear of this film.
