Digital Broadcast
(2006)

This is no ordinary documentary.
Paul Gambaccini is perhaps one of the most iconic broadcasters in Britain.

Paul is in fact American.

He started his career as a writer for the Rolling Stones magazine.

It is the first time Paul agreed to take part in a feature-documentary.

This is no ordinary documentary.

It has a an interesting concept maybe a bit confusing at times, revolving around the different colors of the spectrum.

I'm not sure if I understood the concept very well.

The concept is some kind of distraction, as a result we tend to focus more of the sound and what he has to say.

Being mainly known for being a radio broadcaster and DJ it does seem appropriate.

Speed of Light
(2007)

Breathtaking
It starts on a ship bound to a small almost deserted island.

The two leading actors, two young boys discover an almost abandoned warehouse.

It's getting dark and from then on their imagination is running wild.

It's breathtaking as the film is sometimes moving very fast backwards and sometimes forward.

That's the speed of light 'zoomed in'.

There was a lot of fun when it came out about a rape scene. I'm not sure why.

The real or imaginary people living there, a gangster and his girlfriend are rolling around on the floor.

She is not very happy about it but they are still going out together. It's hardly criminal.

Complete Map of the Universe
(2007)

The original TV reality game show
It says it is a thriller. I'm not sure I agree with it.

It's like Big brother but every day the contestants are psychoanalyzed.

It's insane. It has a lot of nudity but it's all in a good taste.

The whole film has been shot with infra-red cameras except the game show host.

The film was originally conceived in 1992. There was a book before that. I saw an interview with the director Nick Peterson/Virtual Alien where he said that the only reason he didn't sue the makers of Big Brother was that George Orwell should first have the copyright on the TV show.

Full mark for the music score!

In and Out of Planet Earth
(2008)

Swimming underwater for 60 minutes
There is so much description of sex in this film.

That's crazy.

Everything is multiplied tenfold underwater.

But it's well done not rude or cheap.

Is the girl at the beginning his girlfriend? I saw the film 3 times so far and I still don't get bored.

Even the scenes with no dialog and just some fish floating around.

I'm not sure if some of the scenes are meant to be funny or what? There was a play before the film. I wished I'd seen it.

The music is a stroke of genius, it fits the movie perfectly.
