The Batman
(2022)

A Dark Thriller: The Batman Promises a New Era of Superhero Movies
"The Batman" deals more with the detective side of the story than previous movies, a side that was depicted more in the Batman game series. It has a dark and dimly lit theme throughout the movie, which is completely different from other superhero pictures and gives it a realistic look. The cast put their best efforts into portraying the characters, such as Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, and Jeffrey Wright, but the best of the best were Paul Dano as the Riddler and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Good camerawork and decent soundtracks help to generate the right feelings for every scene.

In conclusion, I think "The Batman" could provide a new era for superhero movies, an era of dark thriller actions for superhero movies, and personally, I look forward to it. Matt Reeves has raised my expectations, and I hope the sequel can deliver as well.

Mass
(2021)

A moving story narrated thorough good dialog.
"Mass" depicts two parents who are going through the worst nightmare of any parents. The story is progressed only in dialog between the actors, but it does a great job in feeding the information little by little to the audience. Narration is outstanding and it's an ideal way for Fran Kranz to start his directorial debut, cast deliver good performances and Ann Dowd's work is stunning. Camerawork is steady when it needs to be, although it would be best to find different ways of conveying feeling of tension to the audience than shaky handheld camera work. Lack of soundtrack puts more pressure to actors to generate feelings but they can handle it.

The Devil All the Time
(2020)

Fascinating
"The Devil All the Time" delves into the intricacies of small-town Ohio communities, where religion and its practitioners take center stage. The film skillfully portrays the deceptive nature of religion, illustrating how it can be manipulated for nefarious purposes. With steady camerawork, a fitting soundtrack, and standout performances from the likes of Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland, the entire cast delivers commendable work. The narrative is well-structured, keeping viewers engaged throughout the story.

I highly recommend watching "The Devil All the Time" as it offers a compelling exploration of religious themes and human nature, making it a worthwhile viewing experience.

Persischstunden
(2020)

Keeping The Audience on Their Toes
Studios can Make competent movies about World war without having a big budget and stellar cast, Persian Lessons is proof of that. You feel what the main character is going through his fears, hopes, and desperations. The movie makes you sympathize with the main character. Decent camera work and soundtrack great job by the two lead actors and well narrated and worth the time to watch.

Bridge of Spies
(2015)

A Movie done by the Right People
Every aspect of this movie has been done by one of the greatest of its job. The Coen brothers and Charman's screenplay is pretty good, Cinematography by Janusz Kaminski is great although, few handheld scenes could have been avoided, Soundtrack is on point and great acting by the cast especially Tom Hanks whose always the best and at last great narration by Steven Spielberg but it would have been great if it had little more suspense. After all if this movie would have been in any other crew than this it would be one of those boring pictures but give it to the best and you get Bridge of Spies.

Secret Window
(2004)

Disappointing
Secret Window tries so hard to be suspenseful and well narrated but at last, fails at it. The twist is predictable and some of the events don't make sense which is a shame considering the good potential of the Story. Johnny Depp works his best with what he's given, decent camera work and soundtrack but when narration fails it's all for nothing.

Soul
(2020)

Another Great Movie by Pixar and Pete Doctor
Soul is everything you'd expect from a Pixar movie colorful, emotional, funny it is one of the Pixar animations that targets grownups more than kids. Voice acting of everyone is good but in my opinion, Tina Fey stands out as the best as 22. The only thing that bothered me a little was the fast and rush narration. Overall it is one of the most beautiful movies in an awful year.

Predestination
(2014)

Great Story and Acting
Whether you like the movie or not you must acknowledge the phenomenal acting of the cast especially Sarah Snook which gives the character a whole new level of depth. Good story, decent camerawork but the twists of the end is predictable. Overall I see this movie as one of the most underrated pictures.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
(2009)

Amazing Work by Bill Hader
As more studios dive into making animations which is great a problem emerges and that is cliche storylines which this movie suffers heavily from this problem. Watching 30 percent of the movie you can figure out all the rest. That being said, the voice acting of Bill Hader is right on the spot and the other casts are good as well. I hope that someday all animation movies can be as good as Pixar's animations.

Babel
(2006)

The Butterfly Effect
Good story, great narration, pretty good acting by the cast. Iñárritu has proved that he is a great director even in his early years of film making. But there is something that bothers me about the movie, Hollywood depiction of other countries and other cultures is wrong and sometimes disrespectful but from 2006 to the time of writing this review it has evolved a lot but still needs to improve.

The Mitchells vs the Machines
(2021)

Fun and Entertaining
It's great that other studios have started making animations and it's not only Disney and Pixar. The Mitchells vs Machines is one of the good animations I've seen funny, happy, relatable, the cast does a good job but Danny MacBride stands out as the best. The only thing that bothered me is the fact that the plot is cliche and so predictable. Overall it's a fun movie to watch.

Mank
(2020)

Not Enough Fincher Style
David Fincher is my favorite director but Mank is not even close to his best works and the main problem is the story. It's about an alcoholic screenwriter writing a movie that's it. It lacks the suspense you'd expect from a Fincher movie. That being said the other aspects of the movie are almost perfect the attention to detail, the soundtrack, camera work, and the cast do a decent job but the best among them is Charles Dance.

Little Children
(2006)

Life of Frustrated People
The story of Little Children is about people that are tired of who they are and the kind of life they are living and their attempts, even bad attempts to live a more exciting life. Great job by Kate Winslet and Jackie Earle Haley, Patrick Wilson should have acted better and the other characters are not developed enough. Just feels that they are left out.

Citizen Kane
(1941)

A Revolution in Storytelling
It's difficult to review a movie made 80 years ago it was a revolution for its time with the way of storytelling and the production, But seeing this in 2021 I have to say I've seen this way of storytelling and it's not a new thing. However, there is something about Citizen Kane that makes it great even by today's standards and that's the fact that we see every aspect of the character, his childhood his career his friendships his love life, and Kane's character is fully developed. At last Citizen Kane is and will remain one of the most important movies ever made.

The Two Popes
(2019)

High and Low points of a Man's Lfie
Two Popes is an incredible story transforming a man from who he has been into who he is now. The cast does a great job of performing the characters the soundtrack and camera work is solid. If I could've changed one thing in the movie it would be that I liked to see a little of Pope Benedict's back story as well and I sure like to know how on earth is this movie in the comedy genre by IMDB standards. After all I highly recommend for anyone catholic or any other religion even atheists to watch this movie.

Zoolander
(2001)

Unfunny and Disrespectful
Zoolander is a movie that tries to be funny by showing over-the-top acting of stupidness now this could work in Jim Carrey movies but in this movie, it crosses the line and becomes disrespectful, making fun of how stupid and inconsiderate these characters are just doesn't work. I hope Ben Stiller Sticks to making movies like Tropic Thunder, not this one.

Hotel Rwanda
(2004)

The Terrifying History of a Nation
Hotel Rwanda is a movie where most of the attention is on the story but unlike other movies of this nature, it doesn't sacrifice other aspects of the movie for the story's sake. Actors perform their best to picture the terror of the event, decent camerawork, and a touching soundtrack. Overall I highly recommend watching this movie and hope that events like this would never happen on this planet.

V for Vendetta
(2005)

He Was All of Us
V for Vendetta breaks so many of the stereotypes you know about the comic movies followed by a great performance by the cast.

Hugo Weaving's voice is perfect for the role and Natalie Portman delivers one of her best performances, soundtracks match the scene perfectly, and decent camerawork. At last, this movie is not about one man it's not about one action it's about an idea.

The Father
(2020)

Great Drama
The father is a great drama with a great performance by the cast. Obviously age is just a number for Anthony Hopkins the man is a true legend other cast members are great as well but Imogen Poots could have been better, really good cinematography, other than some minor plot holes I saw nothing wrong with this movie and I absolutely liked it and highly recommend watching it.

You Were Never Really Here
(2017)

Should have been better
The movie has a good plot followed by a great performance by Joaquin Phoenix and fine cinematography but the main issue with this movie is the way of storytelling that is confusing, backstories could have been better told, the soundtrack is annoying but with all these issues it's a movie well worth of watching.

The Irishman
(2019)

Yet another great movie from a great director
The Irishman is exactly what you expect from Scorsese, A well-crafted movie with so much attention to detail it's almost flawless, great performance by the cast, but that being said what bothered a little was the character of frank's daughter feels left out and the movie could have been shorter had the story progress a bit faster and digitally trying to make Pesci and De Niro younger felt a bit wired.

Overall yet another Great movie by Martin Scorsese, I strongly recommend watching it.

Palm Springs
(2020)

A lost piece of Comedy Romance
Palm Spring is a classic comedy romance, it's funny without being rude or inappropriate. Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti are great as the two lead characters, their chemistry is working great throughout the movie. But that being said the movie isn't flawless, some minor plot holes, some problem with logic and science of time, but in my opinion, the worst aspect of the movie is JK Simmons's character that just feels out of place and doesn't work out the way it should. Overall Palm Spring is a fine, fine film that was missing in American comedies.

Tenet
(2020)

Expected better from Nolan
Chris Nolan likes to play with the concept of time and he has shown it in some of his movies(Memento , Interstellar , a little in inception ) but tenet takes it to a new level , It's more complicated to a point that I had to rewatch and figure out that what just happened! In my opinion this is not good for a man who proved before that he can simplify complicated subject like inception. The positive point is the amazing production of the movie and great camera work (I have absolutely no idea how you can create such a scenes and how can you act or film events like that) and the performance of all cast are great and believable but overall as long as Nolan can create Inception this movie will be considered an step back

A History of Violence
(2005)

You are done with the past but the past is not done with you
Stunning and great performance by Viggo Mortensen good story and good performance by the cast with an exception that I'll get to. the movie really gets into a man's head with his stories. But the soundtrack was so minimal it could have been better and William Hurt performance just felt fake and not believable even for a minute and the rhythm of the story was slow sometimes. at last a well crafted movie worth of watching.

Heat
(1995)

De Niro Is Stunning
The movie is an old fashioned story of a cop chasing after a thief followed by stunning performance by Robert De Niro and a good performance by Al Pacino but what caught most of my attention is De Niro's character. That being said there are some downside to this movie which is too many side characters that has no depth of their own and there only intention is to give motives to the two main character much of the story is left out and wrapped up. At last this was a good movie and the main reason is great performance by the two lead characters.
