On Promised Land
(1994)

Charming
Set in Atlanta, Georgia. This is probably one of my favorite TV movies. It's about a black family who is not very wealthy living near a very rich older white woman. Every day the young boy would walk to the school bus and the old white woman's dog would tug at the boys legs and this scared the boy badly. One day, while he and his father were out hunting for small animals, the boy takes the dog and captures him in one of the hunting boxes. Later that night it begins to rain and the dog causes the box to fall over and he drowns to death. The old woman's family is furious about this and orders the black family beat the boy for his wrong doing. When the father refuses calling it an accident the family leaves in a rage. The old white woman begins to hang out with the young black boy after realizing that her dog really was mean to the boy. They become one another's only friends. In the end, the boy has to move away because of such racism and hatred going on. He says goodbye to the woman and gives her his dog, and promises to come back to visit.

Truly one of the best, and saddest TV movies I've ever seen. Take a look next time it comes on Disney. You will be shedding a tear every moment!

Holes
(2003)

This is a kid's movie?
Oh, Holes... one of my favorite books of all time. I first read the book in 8th grade for a book report and thought, "Oh, my God, this is so good!" I loved it, and read it three times more! When I heard that this movie was going to be made, and with Shia LaBeouf in it as well, I was so excited. Well, my wait is over, I went on opening night, and the theatre was packed! My friends and I had to split up it was so crowded.

I was very impressed with this movie. All the characters were great, and very memorable. I enjoyed the way they did the flashbacks. Since it has been over 3 years now since I last read the book, I still questioned things, and wondered, "Hmmm....what? OH YEAH!" This is the best kid's movie... which to me, it shouldn't be one... cause I loved it, and I'm 17. Great job, Disney... great job, Shia! Holes... no holes to fuss about... 8/10.

Tru Confessions
(2002)

Disney, did you actually try on this one? GREAT JOB!
Disney movies are always cute, but not good. I enjoy Disney, all the shows, especially Even Stevens. The Reason, Mr. Shia LaBeouf. On Even Stevens your trying desperately not to laugh, but when he hits the screen, you do. However, on Tru Confessions you don't laugh very much, there's more sadness coming from Mr. Shia LaBeouf. Disney really worked hard on this movie, and it shows! The movie is so believable, you'll wonder, "how does this kid stay in character?" So, do I recommend this movie? YES! It easily receives 8/10 stars.

The Santa Clause 2
(2002)

Captures some of you, not the heart
The first SC was very good! I was only 8 years old when it was released and fell in love with it! 8 years later, when SC2 came out I was so excited!!! I was 16, but I didn't care, I had to see it! What I saw was great, magical, funny, and a tear-jerker! However, *uh-oh* this one captured the some of you, unlike the SC1 that captures your whole heart. This one (SC2) captures your feelings rarely. The parts I saw were the Secret Santa scene, the scenes with his son and Charlie, and him and Neal still not on good terms. But these things are easily outweighed. I fell in love with the fact they used some mythical characters! I also loved that the whole original cast was back! Minus, Judy who couldn't be in it for obvious reasons *age concern*. In a few words go see this movie, you'll love it... but as with any sequel you'll never see it as good as the first one. Also look for Peter Boyle who played Scott's Boss in the SC1 with the famous saying "You should see a doctor, a dietion, anything!" who plays Father Time in SC2.

4/5
