It doesn't deserve all the abuse it gets, but isn't exactly perfect I had very high hopes for LAND OF THE LOST, although I think the TV show was a total snooze-fest. First, you got will Ferrell, and I am a HUGE fan of Will Ferrell. Second, it looks like a combo between JURASSIC PARK, INDIANA JONES, Monty Python, and David Letterman from the trailer. When I saw this movie at the theater I was quite impressed but was let down a bit. One, even though I don't have a kid or plan on having one anytime soon this really was not for little kids. There's a lot of crudeness in it, it's not as crude as JACKASS but is still not really suitable for anyone under age 12, plus a mouthed instance of the F word. Second, the redneck dude was not funny. You know how in action movies there's usually an annoying sidekick, butt buddy to the hero? Well Danny McBride was Will Ferrell's butt buddy in this movie, and I just didn't find him the least bit funny. Otherwise, the movie was pretty good. On IMDb I'd give it a 7.4, but don't let your little ones under age 12 see this, or you'll be cursing yourself out for letting them see it in the first place.
