Free Burma Rangers
(2020)

The best movie ever made probably. Everyone must see!!!!
This movie leaves me in shock and amazement. It cannot be described. The way they documented it is the most realistic experience you can ever have of a real war situation and everything is happening in front of you, with real life people in deep need, and Eubank can be seen trying to make life and death decisions by relying on God's grace and deliverance in the real face of evil and destruction. After watching this you probably would not want to watch another Hollywood movie again. Such power, heart, love and truth in this entire documentary. The cruelty of war will make you confront what life is, how evil this world is and how God's teaching to love our neighbor is worth fighting for - yet only made possible by a truly faihtful and obedient heart towards the God of Love. Jesus Christ is written all over this movie. He is the Lord over all evil. No matter how hard, if you trust Him and follow Him, He will make you to do some of the best work in the world for humanity. This movie should win all the awards out there. It is the most beautiful and honest and eye-opening movei I have ever seen.

God's Not Dead 2
(2016)

Reflects reality. Beware 1/10 reviews given by trolls.
How accurate it this movie regarding Christiatianity being oppressed by the media and social trends? Just look at how many hostile reviews giving 1/10 and mock it, and you see how much truth the movie speaks to our current social situation. It is no lie that the laws are being pushed by such people for political agenda. I know friends who are threatened to be fired for saying the name of Jesus by their boss, and another lady who works as a door person and was not allowed to talk about Jesus. Living in Chicago, I have witnessed and experienced visible persecution and oppression even in thw Christian community for speaking about my faith a way that apparently was deemed "coded" or "misleadin". One time a bunch of people laughed at my face because I said God spoke to me. They shame you or threaten you so you cannot share what actually happened. And then they slander God and you saying Christians are ignorant or are dumb. Well, except half my Christian friends hold double master degrees or doctorate. We also tend to be the most globally traveled. So honestly it's just slander. Watch all three movies and think for yourself. These are not supposed to be for entertainment, so of course you can't expect comedy or adventure. People need to understand despite perception, most real Christians are very low key about their sufferings, injustice done to them and what they do for society. So you're not gonna know true Christianity from the media or online reviews from atheists. Go to an evangelical community church and find out for yourself.

Drop Dead Diva
(2009)

Used to be good, then turn into day time crap
They need to bring back Jay Parker, hands down, and cut the "original Jane" character, and stop making Stacey make so insanely stupid decisions and being extremely dramatic, like suddenly going on needlessly urgent search for sperm donors to have a baby, sacrificing her relationship with Jane just to briefly hook up with Owen, then for no reason at all making a big deal and breaking up with Owen. It makes me sick to my stomach. Owen's character used to be so in love with Jane, for him to suddenly pick up Stacey and act all natural make it seem unbelievable and audience lose respect of him. You can tell the actor playing Owen (a very good actor) even has a hard time trying to make it seem justifiable! Any self-respecting actor will feel the writing is crap. What a waste of a good cast! If they are doing a sixth season and want to retain followers and attract new viewers, they NEED to do the following: 1) Their most urgent need right now is to bring Parker back and keep Kim around! These two are immensely appealing and drawing actors and characters. They bring depth and charisma to the show. 2) Secondly, make Stacey herself not a crazy friend betraying, sperm-crazy, lunatic mom! 3) last but not least, bring Jane and Grayson together already. It's painful and annoying to watch another episode where the show tries desperately to drag on the suspicion with irrational plots of surprises coming up last minute or interruptions during their confessions. It's not interesting anymore nor suspense. Just plain disturbance and people are losing interest fast. They need to move the show onto new grounds and stop spoiling a fresh idea by lazily adopting old tricks to fool the audience. These writers and producers need to get real and make a honest living, or most viewers will not return. If they follow these suggestions, I think they will find the show more successful. If they don't heed advice from the very people the show's trying to draw, they aren't very smart.

Identity Thief
(2013)

Not at all bad movie. In fact very a very good movie!
I have no idea why people would rate this movie so low...Sometimes I seriously feel that it has to do with American culture being dumbed down and people have become only responsive to movies filled with crass and foul topics. Because this kind of movies are almost ALWAYS rated higher! Please ask yourself why?

Today I watched two movies, one being We Are the Millers and one being Identity Theft. I am completely shocked and frustrated by the fact that the first has a much higher rating. Seriously? Why, because Jennifer Aniston is in it? We Are the Millers is not just so dumb in plot, but MAJORLY disgusting and offensive in content and suggestions. First they had a 18 year-old guy being encouraged (mind you, by the lead character who is a drug dealer who supposedly has a heart..eye roll) to give oral sex to a Mexican guy. How is this in any way entertainment or funny? Why the heck is sexual offence funny? Things like this really somethings makes me wonder if Hollywood is run by devil worshippers. After all, Charles Manson was never accepted by any place but some people from the entertainment industry, and that's where he started the whole murder schemes. Look at all these innocent young singers and actors all going in and out of rehab, going insane and dying young...seriously all this plus the endless list of crappy movies persistently attempting to shove suggestions of sexual offense in our minds ( for the past many years), I'm seriously starting to question what's going on.

We are the Millers is literally half a step from full blown pedophilia. Then they had the guy being taught french kissing with a woman his mother's age and transferring that spit by french kissing the girl who's supposed to act like his sister. And then Hollywood try to popularize AGAIN the concept of "swinging", shoving a scene down our throat even though it makes most people want to puke thinking about the idea. These people who write crap like that probably do it personally and are desperate to get approval from people thinking if they show it enough people will be sick as they are. Sorry, not gonna happen.

You may think I'm getting off track there. But no. My point for mentioning all that is just to bring up one question: HOW IN THE WORLD can people say a crap movie like the Millers is better than truly touchingly funny movies like Identity Theft.

If one thing, I would say, Identity Theft is actually funny without trying to use shock value. But other crappy comedies have to use shock and foul language to batter you because the story in itself is not funny or great in the first place. When every character in a movie has to be a hooker, stripper, drug dealer, a cruel sicko or foul mouth, you know you have a lame script.

Unlike other lame so-called comedies,Identity Theft is a whole level higher and better. I suspect that's perhaps why the intellectually and emotionally regressing culture can appreciate. I've seen McCarthy in other movies, but she was never this good in any other movies. In this movies, she showed her talent as an actor who can portray a deeper personality, emotion WHILST being silly and crazy. There are fast actions, slapstick and perfectly-timed quiet moments coming perfectly together into great stitch work here. Bateman's seriousness and great acting skills constantly reassures the viewer the character is really not aware what's happening next and his ever so slightly perplexed reactions to situations gives the movie a real life believability. Somehow the movie just draws me and makes me believe they are not actors, but really in these situations. It's a unique brand of comedy. It's bubbly, frustrating and realistically emotionally indecisive. It makes you wonder and keeps things interesting, provided you have a certain level of ability to appreciate subtlety and eclectic textures in a movie.

The characters seriously grow on you, because they have layers that gets peeled away. I love that they didn't "Hollywood" the characters so much that they are completely good-hearted or wonderful, nor completely insane and crass. They each had their selfishness, but also reasonable development into sympathesizing for the other, unlike some movies that just make everybody magically go from a jack to a saint in one day, or find excuses for every stupid thing a character does.

I've always been one who appreciates a reasonable level of emotional quotient and character depth in a movie. It doesn't matter what genre. I hate complete fantasies, and unfortunately that's what Hollywood does. I suppose if you are a complete sci-fi freak or someone who can only appreciate Chris Farley type thing and have no time for subtlety or character dept, you will not like this movie.

This movie is underrated, along with many other great movies. But I suppose that doesn't come as a surprise, because they same people are probably those who think Titanic and Avatar are great. Believe me, if you 'love' either one, I highly doubt you would like this movie.

What Women Want
(2000)

Romantic comedy done just right.
I really like this movie, because it can be watched over and over again. Everything about it is done right. It's funny, romantic, warm and creative. Everyone agrees that Helen Hunt is a good actor, but I've always felt that Mel Gibson has been underrated in the past. He's one of those actors who draws you into the movie with not much of an effort. There's lightness and charm to both actors' acting that the story just feels extremely real and relevant. And it doesn't hard that the dialog are funny and not overdone. Chicago is a charming city with history and elegance. It works so well with this movie. For me, this movie warms my heart.

Purple Violets
(2007)

Good premise, strange casting & below par acting by the leads.
The truth is the movie has a mediocre plot, which means the movie could turn out either way, good or bad, and it all depends on the execution by the actors and directing. Personally, I am okay with the directing. It's somewhat realistic. However, I am really bored by the acting by the 2 leads. The supposed leads Blair and Wilson have almost zero chemistry, almost devoid of any honesty and feelings in their interactions. I am annoyed by the obvious 'acting" by Wilson, and the lack of energy and presence from both. It's totally unpersuasive that Blair's character could be a "talented, passionate and honest" writer. Neither the script nor the acting could convince us either way. What's really funny was the scene where Logue broke up with Blair. She was hardly really upset, but then the dialogue made it sound like she should have.

There are three really awesome actors in this movie, who saved the movie by keeping the audience from walking away midway. And that's Messing, Burns and Logue. Messing and Burns should have been the leads. They simply steal the show, especially Messing. The thing is she has presence, and lots of authenticity to her acting, that convinces you that she is the character, even though the plot makes her out to be an unlikely grumpy woman. Donal Logue did a fantastic job to show himself a talented actor in this movie, where he was cast a character much different than he was type-casted into before. Even his body language and postures adapted to a younger and more sophisticated New York resident with a foreign background. For a second there, I though this was a younger foreign actor. But the confidence and presence drew me to notice it was indeed Logue! Great job.

Yes, I must agree. There's a degree of trying too hard to be woody Allen in this movie, but lacked all the essence of acting. All I got to say is that if they redo this movie, and make Messing and Burns the lead, they may make triple the box office. Not for the names, but for the acting.
