Unser täglich Brot
(2005)

What do you want to eat today?
Don't watch this movie if you have bad stomach or you won't be able to eat for a while. It shows quite a bit of shocking footage of modern food processing facilities. Dehumanization of food processing is well shown by creative camera placement. Camera placement resembles Kubrick's in some scenes - scenes of machines and people moving through corridors. Some of machines and procedures shown in the movie are really shocking. Movie doesn't have any narration, only sounds that you hear are sounds of the environment. A bit of well picked music would make this movie even better. If you want to know how the food you eat comes to your table this is the movie to watch.

Klatka
(2003)

Fights and Violence
Movie is about fights between young people in Poland. Title "Klatka" comes from fights in cage. Except that fights between football fans is in the centre of attention. First half of movie was filmed too frenetically with too short scenes jumping from one scene to another and sometimes without audio commentary for too long so if you are not familiar with topic you won't know what the movie is about. In the second half there is more narration (by football fans, KLATKA fighters..) and in this part there is significant rise in quality.

The 13th Floor
(1988)

wrong comments
not really a comment but there seems to be a lot of comments here that refer to 13th floor from 1999 and not this movie

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
(1981)

Good, but not as good as book
Having read the book two times before I was a bit disappointed by the series. I expected a true masterpiece being made from my favourite book but while it is rather good it isn't a masterpiece. It becomes dull at moments which doesn't happen in the book.

As of special effects they are rather weak but that can be ignored considering when they were made. But voice of super computer was so distorted with "special effects" that it is very difficult to understand what is it saying.

Brazil
(1985)

European version is too long
I watched European version and I must say it is too long. Although the idea for movie is good it is spolied by too long scenes like Samurai fighting which could carry same message if it was cut in half.

King Solomon's Mines
(1985)

Rather good parody
I am not sure if this movie was meant to be a parody (at least that was omitted from description of the movie in TV guide) but it sure looked like that. And that is what makes this movie good - james bond and indiana jones action exaggerated so it seems funny.

There's Something About Mary
(1998)

Wasted idea
I was totally dissapointed how idea of several men trying to get one girl can be totaly spolied by directors. Spilling body fluids or character jumping around with a dog that has bitten him is just plain stupid. The only thing of this film that should be left out in some new directors cut should be tangling the web of lies by Leary and maybe the cop scenes.

Vampires
(1998)

Better than expected
When I got this movie I thought that this was yet another vampire movie but I was nicely surprised when I watched it. Although the story is more or less typical for this genre (but then again there is no much room for original stories in vampire-hunter movies) realisation of the movie was rather good. That can especially be contributed to very good photography (I do not mean killing scenes, although vampire burning effect is very good) and excellent music.

Heat
(1995)

Too long and full of cliches
The movie length and concentrating on too many subplots makes movie hard to watch.

Combined with many cliches such as ending "main good guy chasing main bad guy" scene and rather unconvincing firefight scene this does not make a good movie

The only good part of the movie was Pacino-De Niro dialogue while drinking coffee. That scene is just excellent

Le coup du lapin
(2000)

One of best wedding films
This film is about preparations for wedding of Sophie and Jean and troubles they encounter day before wedding. It has many funny moments and is a lot more realistic than similar films of the same thematics.

Generalov carski osmijeh
(2002)

A rather good movie
This is one of the better recent Croatian TV movies. Since there is no plot summary I'll tell what the movie is about. It is a quite entertaining story about small and not so small frauds in the art and antique trade business.
