I Care a Lot
(2020)

Grotesque!!!
Honestly, not even an 80s comedy with Eddie Murphy could have made such a script. Total idiocy, where the cheap swindler, hateful to the core, acts as the gangster, and the gangster looks like a street mugger! Absolutely beyond any possible and minimal logic. Moreover, seasoned with a murder that makes no sense, in the logic of the screenplay, as it was enough to bribe the female doctor to free the mother and be able to prey on the tormentor in four and four eights. I'm very sorry for the actors, in first instance for the great Dianne Wiest, who all in all, seems like a dopey old woman, in the end, for Peter Dinklage who, as mentioned, seems like an inept puppet at the end of the day. If they wanted to do a mix between comedy and crime, I'd say the experiment completely failed. In summary, the film does not belong to any genre, except the grotesque!!! Annoying film, from every point of view.

The Prisoner
(2009)

Totally unwatchable.
One of the remakes, and in general one of the worst TV series ever seen!!! Confused, without a thread of logic, with frenetic and irritating images, not a thread that connects one episode to another, and in the episodes themselves not a thread that connects the beginning to the end, a complete disaster. Boring, senseless, illogical, without rhyme or reason, each episode seems like the screenwriter's personal ruminations, almost and as much worse than David Lynch's worst films ("Lost Highway", "Eraserhead", "Inland Empire"). Totally unwatchable. Sorry for the actors who have their own reputation, but they put themselves in the hands of screenwriters and directors who are completely inadequate and completely incompetent in constructing a plot that unfolds in a manner that is at least minimally logical, albeit in the mystery that covers everything. .. but this way we are truly at the pure subjective madness of someone who has woken up from a nightmare and needs to tell you about it in detail, aka "but who cares!!!".

Mayans M.C.
(2018)

DEFINITELY NO!!!
I loved Sons of Anarchy a lot, even if it took me a while to get used to it. The story was well written, the characters were intriguing and overall the plot flowed smoothly. Mayans MC, on the contrary, starts off even worse, and never gets going, while the characters leave you completely indifferent. They all look like puppets. It all seems fake. Definitely uninteresting. I gave up on it after a few episodes, maybe in a few years I'll try to watch it again, but at the moment it's a DEFINITE NO!!! Furthermore, enough with these TV series spoken in the original language to give a semblance of reality, they are bored!!!!!

What a disappointment!!!
What a disappointment!!! I approached this thriller TV series blindly trusting the many positive reviews... nothing could be more wrong nowadays, where professional reviews are often entrusted to business interests and amateur ones to donkeys who are satisfied with banal plots, some visual effects, and ridiculous twists from kids' films. This series, a mix between The Silent of the Lambs, Saw, True Detective, Nikita... and many others even mentioned, here with an excellent sense of humour, by the actors during the development of the plot, does not make an impression anywhere, and, indeed, it leaks from all of them. It's a loop of scenes with no purpose, and ends in themselves, to arrive at nothing, except a very banal ending, which could have been resolved in a 5 minute short film. The beginning is promising, certainly intriguing, as the plot unravels, it makes us wonder why we wasted almost 7 hours for... NOTHING!!! THE VOID!!! Negative, from all points of view, even the characters do not create any empathy. FAILED!!!

Doctor Who
(2005)

Not for me!!!
I'm sorry to go against the trend, I've never been a fan of Doctor Who, I started watching it again, after several years, in this period... from memory I never liked it, I confirm!!! It's a children's show, with an entirely uninteresting plot, a totally irritating underlying do-goodism, and characters that don't create any kind of empathy. I don't know, call me an idiot, but in this genre I stick to Star Trek, classics and all the others, The X-Files, The Boys, The Walking Dead, Stranger Things and so on. I tried years ago, and stopped following it, for the same reason, now I'm trying again, but I'd say that the feeling is exactly the same. This show bores me terribly, and tells me nothing! Probably in 10 years, at the 25th season 😁, I will try again, but I highly doubt anything will change. TV series for teenagers, from the characters, to the plots, to the settings.

A lot of smoke and no roast
A lot of smoke and no roast. The film wanted to be, i suppose, something like a new Blade Runner, in the end it just turns into an Independence Day, already poor of it, with some interludes from The Fifth Element. I can't give it a passing grade in the slightest, given the very little emotional effect it gave me, in fact i found it rather flat and superficial in many aspects, as well as full of clichés, the bad guys being bad guys, the good guys being good guys, all terribly flat and devoid of any credibility, complete flatness. So much noise, almost too much, so much so that you can't even hear the few, scant, dialogues, many special effects, beautiful yes, but they also broke the balls, if an end in themselves, little meat on fire. In conclusion, i was expecting a big film, at least something above average, i find myself commenting on an empty, flat film with characters straight out of some random Disney film. I couldn't wait for it to end. Ugly.

Clone of Shattered Glass
An almost perfect copy of the great Shattered Glass. I believe that the film is set up precisely in this sense, although it is based on real events, it is a true clone of the American film, which dealt with the story of an identical character in every detail. Not only is the plot identical, based on very similar facts, but also the direction, focusing on almost comical moments and truly dramatic moments. I've seen Shattered Glass at least five times, and every time i see it again, because I see it often :-) , i find it more and more brilliant, in the setting of the story, in the detail of the characters. This german clone isn't bad, but having too much "in front of" Shattered Glass, i feel like i'm entering a deja-vu. All in all, however, it deserves full approval.

Sufficient, only for the presence of Jessie Buckley!
Sufficient, only for the presence of Jessie Buckley, who is truly magnificent! The film is along the lines of that little masterpiece that is Perfect Sense, but much simpler, not superficial but... too simple. Let's say it could be a good episode of Black Mirror, but nothing more. The direction and acting are very good, but it's all too clear from the start. Slow film, at times soporific, but not boring, full of good intentions, but never takes flight. At least they avoided honeyed and ridiculous scenes. The plot is a little ridiculous, but perhaps it is intentional, a metaphor of how the modern generation uses technology not to help itself, but to guide its own life, entrusting its own free will to dubious scientific theses relating to the human soul, at least as the film shows them. Jessie Buckley is beautiful!!!

Fringe
(2008)

Sinusoidal!
Season 1 and 2 are wonderful, with hints at X-Files that are not even mentioned too much, but properly mentioned, and with completely spot-on characters, above all obviously Walter and the nice symbiosis with Astrid, and Torv who is very good. Subsequently, seasons 3 and 4 are dull, stupid and even poorly acted, with b-movie and soap opera scripts, with each episode you can't wait for it to end! In these seasons we willingly follow only the events of Walter, the only character who remains "reliable". The final season, season 5, picks up and becomes even tougher. Overall, when I saw it for the first time, around 2011, it made a good impression on me, more than years later I would say that it has aged badly, with the conditions described above. All in all, still an enjoyable series.

Boring, useless, stupid, superficial, ridiculous TV series.
Horrible! The show is also well shot, and the editing, with the classic flashback method, isn't bad either, technically nothing to complain about. The problem is the script, ridiculous and bordering on shameful, with characters that are absolutely not credible or, worse, completely insipid, they all seem like 15-year-olds in heat. Difficult to find the dumbest character in this show, I think they compete for the worst human being on planet earth or at least the most stupid. If 15-year-olds had shot it, it would have been more believable, unwatchable, but more believable! Boring, useless, stupid, superficial, ridiculous TV series. 4 only for cinematic technique. Annoying!

Now and Then
(2022)

Not enough to make it a fully watchable product.
The script of this TV series is not original, we have already seen it adopted in many films, but this does not imply that the product could not still be good and enjoyable. Too bad, unfortunately, this is not the case. The plot can be disassembled within 5 seconds, any scientific relief, even superficial, of the car accident of 2000, where it all began, would have immediately revealed the presence of at least 2, if not more people present in the passenger compartment (traces from bloody wounds, position of the same wounds, traces of footprints on the body of the deceased boy, as can be clearly seen in some frames in which the boy, removed from his position, is repeatedly touched and even caressed on his face covered in blood) , which would have immediately closed the first circle, i.e. The first definitive conclusion that only the deceased boy was in the car. The rest of the series leaves a lot to be desired, I don't like how it's acted, and it's far too full of huge plot holes, beyond those already mentioned. Not enough to make it a fully watchable product.

The Son
(2022)

Very touching movie.
Very touching movie. Tackle a very important problem, mental health, without excessive use of melodramatic tones. Anyone who hasn't gone through states of mind like the ones Nicholas faces cannot understand and empathize with the disturbances that pass through the human mind. Unfortunately this is one of the enormous problems and misunderstandings in dealing with the relationship with people suffering from these pathologies, because those who are outside of them are unable to rationalize in any way, mainly because there is no real rationality in the behavior that these mental problems bring about . Often, in fact, these symptoms are trivially underestimated and considered as minor problems, easily overcome, but often this is not the case, if not with the help of medicines and a lot of reactivity, the time and strength to want to get out of them, then, often, they make the difference. The film is shot very well, played masterfully by all the actors, and the direction and editing done very well, without excesses. A beautiful film, without a shadow of a doubt, that you already know how it will go on, but that doesn't detract from the force of the impact it has on the viewer and the feelings it arouses. Unconditional love for a beloved son.

Lunatics
(2019)

It doesn't take!
Amusing, funny, at times bordering on the grotesque, as it clearly wants to be. The basic problem is that it is, on the whole, boring and not intriguing, like other much more acclaimed shows such as THE OFFICE (both the brilliant version of Ricky Gervais, and the American version with an incredible cast of actors, where Steve Carell reigns supreme , and a perfect direction to say the least) and PARKS AND RECREATION, another show that I loved and devoured. Sufficient, but nothing significant. I also believe that every single episode, although it should be focused on the events of six misfits, is too long, half was enough, and this aspect justifies the lack of interest for the observer. Furthermore, unlike the aforementioned THE OFFICE and PARKS AND RECREATION, no character manages to convince, in their grotesque and social side, as for example a Gervais did and, even better, Carell, that you managed to love, hate and blame.

God's Country
(2022)

Underrated!!!
This film is completely underrated, looking at the IMDB ratings that place it even below the sufficiency. It is an extraordinary film, among the best indies ever seen. We remove the breathtaking natural settings of Montana, unquestionably beautiful landscapes, and fully aligned with the personality of the character of Sandra (a monumental Thandiwe Newton). The film is essentially a simple and basic psychological journey into the personality of Sandra, an "ordinary" woman with her own personal story behind ("human suffering" is mentioned in clear terms at the beginning of the film), which made very sensitive to human themes, and to the hypocrisies that reign over these plots. The spark ignites at the beginning of the film, when Sandra notices the red van for the first time, and goes out at the end, in the way of a mind, now disturbed by mankind.

Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area
(2022)

It is a matter of different cultures.
It is a matter of different cultures. It is often very difficult for us westerners to appreciate works of cinema and TV series of oriental origin, for various aspects: the sense of humour, some childish traits, the acting. Having said that, I'm a huge fan of so many great oriental directors, and Korean cinema has been producing some amazing talent and works as well in recent years (Park Chan-wook is a genius to me!!!). I literally loved the original Spanish LA CASA DE PAPEL and I started this version, which would seem to start as a real remake, but I understand that slowly something changes, making it more of a spinoff than a real remake. I have to be honest, for now it's not exciting me much (I still have the whole epic of the original fresh in my mind, where the characters are exceptional, the acting better, the plot absurd and therefore exciting!), but sufficiency if it deserves ... let's see with the passing of the episodes if I remain of the same idea.

Elvis
(2022)

Frenetic as time is!
The movie isn't bad. It starts with slow rhythms, then too frenetic, in full Luhrmann style, then it settles down. Ultimately this is not a real film about Elvis Presley, as a man and an artist, but a fictionalized reconstruction of how his iconic character has been exploited by people and the media. There is very little introspection, the characters are very superficial, especially on a human level, there is no analysis of them. However, it remains an interesting work which, in any case, runs through the various stages of the artist in the world of show business, with little emphasis on the actor's part, although in a joke the character Elvis reveals his intent to "be an actor" before still than a rock singer. I think the man Elvis could have been told much better.

Good Girls
(2018)

In the middle of the sea...
This TV series starts very well, especially the mix between pure comedy and crime genre. The first two seasons are very enjoyable. Then something happens, as it often does. I think the writers never really decided whether to focus on the comedy or the crime genre, failing in the end to maintain the correct mix of genres, arriving at an inevitable season finale between the grotesque and the disappointing. Let's face it, Beth (an always wonderful Hendricks), for me, but perhaps also for many, seems to advance slowly in the hope of seeing her take on the role of the "counterpart" Walter White (Bryan Cranston), unfortunately this step will never happen and one will always remain in the middle and in the incomplete. Too bad, the potential was there.

Nymphomaniac: Vol. I
(2013)

A really good drama...becomes a soft porno.
The film deals with very interesting themes, and with a very high descriptive, philosophical, moral and ethical quality. Definitely a very touching theme, and of clear human interest. What puzzles me, very puzzles, is the visual style. I mean, does it make sense to insert scenes and dialogues that are in all respects pornography, when a good author could easily describe them with "lightness", arriving at the exact same focal point? I really don't understand the eagerness of these authors, who necessarily want to exaggerate and give a sensationalist touch to their works. We have examples of much more capable authors, who have dealt with issues of the same level, making the visual part much more "soft", modest, without necessarily wanting to create a sensation. Trier definitely feels above everything and everyone, he's a great author, but he suffers, IMO, from that sleazy sense of unconventionality, which leads to having to represent reality ... too real. He has no poetry on the visual side. Too bad, it could have been a really cult film. Thus it remains a very good soft porn film.

Night Sky
(2022)

What a pity!!!
This TV series definitely has an excellent prologue, it develops decently and with interesting imagination, while not inventing anything new. As a sensation, I believe that whoever wrote the plot took a cue from many sci-fi novels and recent TV series, but without, unfortunately, adding anything new ... nor, damn it, writing an ending! They could have developed a 2,3,4 seasons, with a plot that could lead to interesting intrigues and mysteries to be discovered, but I would say that marketing had the upper hand and they did not allow the story to develop, because, otherwise, I would have expected at least a final episode that would unravel many of the mysteries never solved, but not even the least hinted at during the course. It starts well, continues with dignity ... it has no end !!! Overall, a real wasted opportunity. A waste of a good resource. Pity.

In italiano...
CAGNA MALEDETTA!!!", ma estenderei all'intero cast: "CANI!!! CANI MALEDETTI!!!". 3 giusto perchè, in fondo, si sono pure impegnati per produrre questa schifezza e, in fondo, Mastandrea comunque è l'unico a salvarsi!!!

The Tinder Swindler
(2022)

Grow up, little fools!
A very normal story of little intelligent people, little grown up, immature, slightly "frivolous" and still with a baby bottle in their mouth. Little fools, watch Disney cartoons and stay home, rather than playing "Pretty Women" role games. Fools!!!

¿Dónde está Marta?
(2021)

Shocking!!!
A great, shocking documentary to enter the miserable human mind. To be seen together with "Sarah - The girl from Avetrana", where similar events lead to reveal the true misery of the people. Discomforting, but unfortunately reality, heavy and harsh reality.

The Raincoat Killer: Chasing a Predator in Korea
(2021)

Boring and contrived
Boring and contrived. Three hours devoted to a sleazy psychopath are heavy. Also because this fact, ugly, in the news, has nothing "exceptional". A documentary that can be interesting in Korea, not much in Western countries, where crazy people of this kind, unfortunately, have written the history of the crime news.

12 Angry Men
(1957)

Truth does not exist
This film is a masterpiece. I've seen it at least a dozen times, and every time it's more and more beautiful! It is not a treatise on how to discover the truth, on the contrary ... the truth often does not exist, except in those who have actually carried out certain actions, but Justice, in almost the whole world, is based precisely on trying to get as close to the truth as possible. Very often this approach is horrible, as we have seen many cases of acquittal, as there is the classic "reasonable doubt", and it is precisely here that the authors take us. The truth does not exist, even the Juror 8 repeatedly says so, the fate of many men and women is linked to a very thin thread, which other men and women have to decide whether to cut or not. Justice, when addressed in any film or novel, is a very hot topic (see O. J. Simpson or Robert Durst, but there will be hundreds of them we don't know), because it involves so many variables. I believe that this film must be seen and analyzed by anyone who approaches the subject of Justice, whether it is his job or a "normal" juror or citizen who wants to judge!

What/If
(2019)

A total waste of time
A glossy idiocy, moreover boring and with a very flat plot Also, has it become MANDATORY to include sex scenes and clichés about homosexuals in all these glossy dramas? 10 episodes that could be summed up in 3. Definitely annoying show and a total waste of time.
