Dance Dads
(2022)

Adam Sandler ish fun
This movie reminded me of something Adam Sandler would make just because of the whimsical characters. They're all silly and fun. My favorite scene stealer for sure was Jenkins and the fight scene had me truly laughing out loud. Watched as a Shadowhunters and watch Katherine McNamara with her Sookie from True a blood accent was fantastic. Karen truly fit her name but the actress playing her was so good at being awful. I rented this on Apple TV but am going to purchase for sure. It was a fun wholesome movie with many laugh out loud characters and moments. The fight scene was an absolute highlight.

The Wedding Year
(2019)

Very cute!
It's a very cute and well acted movie! It's not the best/funniest work by any of the big names in it , so I can understand some of the lower ratings. But it keeps your attention, has charming and likable characters and was the perfect length of time. I was also a big fan of the outfits! The secondary characters did get the better comedic bits which is sad considering who the main characters are but it works! I don't think this will be anyones favorite movie ever but not a waste of time by any means. Sarah Hyland just nails these types of roles and I will continue to watch any comedy she's a part of of, same for Tyler James Williams.

Death of a Telemarketer
(2020)

Watched for Lamorne and Alisha
Lamorne Morris really carried this so well! It's not a big movie and there are few other characters so it relies heavily on him and he delivered as he always does. It's a lot different than his New Girl or Game Night acting and it was just as fun.

The minor characters also keep you entertained, especially Haley Joel Osment in his weird role. His scenes with the actor who played Barry and Lamorne were some of the funniest parts for me.

Alisha Wainwright is stunning and does great in her little amount of screen time especially towards the end.

Loved Barry's minor storyline too

The plot is a little silly but all the actors have the talent to carry it and you feel a lot of sympathy for telemarketers in the end

I guess the motivations are a little off and hard to believe but the actors all do their best to sell it and letting go of that disbelief helped sell the movie for me.

I was almost put off by some of the other reviews but I'm glad I watched, though not sure if would watch it over and over again.

I'd for sure recommend it and say it's far better than I expected from the reviews!

Me Time
(2022)

Exactly what you'd expect
It's got Kevin Hart in it so if course it's hilarious. No departure from his usual character type and I mean that as a compliment because I think it works every time. All the background characters were just as funny. I laughed the whole time. I also really enjoyed Mark Wahlberg. Just as funny as Kevin and their friendship chemistry was superb. Wish Regina Hall got to be funny as well as it seemed every other character got funny bits but her. I get that and yes the story is pretty predictable but if you go in with the right expectations it's a great time.

Will definitely watch again.

No parts in it that I think dragged or were off/unfunny. I hope they make more movies together. Their styles really mesh.

Adrift
(2018)

Enjoyed the use of flashbacks
This movie was excellent. Both main actors are believable and good. Especially Shailene Woolley since she has a lot more to do. Usually flashbacks take me out of the movie but this use to me made it better and helped develop the personal story between the two. Ending was sad but touching.

Barefoot
(2014)

Heartwarming and sweet
Evan Rachel Wood was so lovely in this and Scott Speeedman was so charming! I loved watching them fall and love and him grow to understand her. The plot wasn't the most interesting but it was a fun watch and their chemistry was sweet.

On the Count of Three
(2021)

More drama than comedy
Like other reviewers have mentioned, it's more drama than comedy but the comedy is top notch. It's understated for sure, but well timed and well done. The acting is great and the storyline is believable and interesting. The story didn't drag or end too abruptly. The Donny character was a scene stealer for sure and he was one of my favorite parts, right after the friendship between the two leads.

Day Shift
(2022)

I'd have watched in theaters
This movie was so good! All the main actors are charismatic and entertaining, as always, the plot is engaging and funny, lots of action and I was never bored. Would watch again.

Witness Unprotected
(2018)

Lifetime but not as entertaining
Very much a lifetime type movie but not one I'd want to watch. The main actress is good but I think the rest really weren't that great. The plot doesn't really make sense. Lots of other movies with similar plots that I'd prefer.

Upgrade
(2018)

Just a really cool movie
This movie was fantastic! Acting was great, futuristic ideas were fun but terrifying, and the fight scenes were incredible. I guess I didn't love the ending but it was probably the only "logical" way this could end.

Everything Everywhere All at Once
(2022)

Perfectly named
This movie made me laugh and cry! It was beautiful. The acting was amazing and scenes that out of context are bizarre were truly gut wrenching. Often times there are movies I love that I know a friend would loathe but I can't picture this movie not being beloved by anyone. Harry Shum Jr crushed it his role.

Fourth Man Out
(2015)

Sweet watch
A very sweet and charming movie that was enjoyable to watch. The friendships were funny and relatable, Chord Overstreet really nailed his delivery on each ridiculous thing he said.

Into the Blue
(2005)

Exactly what you expect
A beautiful movie with beautiful people that's got a decent plot and is a lot of fun. Perfect movie for any night of the week and I think enjoyable for anyone.

The Lost City
(2022)

Funny!
This movie was good fun and everyone is fantastic in it. It's not AS funny as expected but still funny and worth a watch or a few. I didn't like the romance as much as the comedy but it was still sweet and light headers.

Shark Bait
(2022)

Better than typical
I think this movie is better than the typical shark movies! Good acting and suspenseful enough. I didn't enjoy the ending as much though, it felt a little silly.

Accident Man
(2018)

Entertaining
This movie held my attention and was fast and fun. I think the lead actor was great, showed all the right emotions and was great during all action scenes.

Wild Game
(2021)

Weekday watch
A very pretty movie, loved the scenery. Didn't enjoy the good bit of animal violence (even though I guess some was expected given it's about an elk hunt). More character driven since the action happens towards the end. Enjoyed the banter moments with Banjo and Clay. The mom and game warden really stole the show with their brief scenes.

Broadcast Signal Intrusion
(2021)

90s slow burn horror
I watched this a huge Harry Shum Jr fan and he didn't disappoint. He was wonderful as was Kelley Mack! The directing and music score were very 90s which I enjoyed as a child of that decade. The score truly brought each scene to life. The beginning is a rather slow but helped to build the characters motivations and mind set. The last twenty minutes or so is where it hugely picks up and I think people will love or hate the way it ended but I liked it!

We Have Always Lived in the Castle
(2018)

Knowing beforehand
I enjoyed the movie but agree with even the lower rated reviews that it's rather slow/dull at points. Good acting, very pretty etc and faithful adaptation of the book. I think it's best to go into this type of movie aware of the movie and honest reviews. Without either I probably would have rated it lower

The Holiday Calendar
(2018)

Cute & Well-Acted but it does drag at point
I really like the entire cast and think they did a great job. They were all adorable and I think the plot was fun, but as others have said it does drag a good bit and the romance part wasn't as good at the magic calendar which I think was underused. But a good Christmas movie that warms your heart nonetheless. Love Nicola and want to see her in more even if she was just in this a few minutes

The Hurricane Heist
(2018)

It is what it is
I think everything you need to know about this movie can be surmised from the title and the actors involved. I don't mean it insultingly at all. Good, entertaining fun but at times a bit ridiculous, especially the accents. Enjoyable movie to stream.

The Endless
(2017)

Gets better
My title isn't the nicest, but I think it's the best way to describe the feel/tone of this movie for me as a viewer. It started at a 5 and ended on a 8. I enjoyed the progress of the story line.

Shimmer Lake
(2017)

Good, on brand Netflix flick
I really enjoyed this. I read some reviews and they didn't like the little comedy bits but I think that made it more enjoyable and authenticated the 'small town' feel of it all. I think Adam Pally is hilarious so that might make me bias. The format was a bit confusing at times but helped the reveal at the end become all the more unexpected.

The Spy Who Dumped Me
(2018)

Good fun
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was just good, laugh out loud fun throughout. It was ridiculous and I loved every second of it.

Set It Up
(2018)

Rom-Com Resurgence
I adored this movie. It was charming and well-paced and perfectly ridiculous in the way all good romantic comedies are. Zoey & Glen are great. Would have loved a bit more Lucy & Taye - my only critique
