This is a Dutch re-make of the Israeli original Yellow Pepper. Which was remade in the UK as the A-Word. This Dutch version is a copy of the UK version. And it's not good.

The subject deserves a good movie. But the acting is very poor, it ruins the movie. What were they thinking? Throw in a few hasbeens and nobody will notice?

I liked the first series of Penoza. It was pretty succesful so they desided to do series 2-5. Which went from good to very mediocre. And then came this movie... What were they thinking? This is completely over the top nonsense. I do not recommend it.

This film is made with some Dutch Youtube-'stars'. I went with my 5 year old daughter. She did not like it at all. And she is right (proud daddy). Bad acting (by people who aren't actors, so what do you expect) and a silly story makes a very bad movie. I've seen a lot of (Dutch) kids movies and this is one of the worst. It's horrible!

This is a very mediocre crime series from Holland. The acting is not good (especially Thijs Römer, who is from an acting family but cannot act at all) and the storytelling is sloppy. But the biggest problem of this series is, is that none of the characters is likeable.

The bombing of Rotterdam deserves a good movie as it is such a defining happening in Dutch history. This movie isn't it. In fact it is horrible.

Jan Smit, a Dutch singer (who cannot sing) is not an actor (so he cannot act as well) and he is not from Rotterdam. So he does not know Rotterdams sentiment about the bombing. Why does he have the lead role?

Rotterdam was bombed by the Germans, early may 1940. Because of this bombing the Dutch army surrendered. Rotterdam was destroyed in under 15 minutes during the bombing and (in 2015) is still recovering).

This movie is a love story during the days before and after the bombing. And it is horrible. Do not watch this movie.

I really wanted to like this series so I tried watching it again and again and again and again. And again, but it just is not good enough.

I do not like the actor who plays the lead, his face has no expressions. The acting is not good in general.

The stories are messy. This may be caused by the very bad editing, incomplete shots and very bad stunts.

Furthermore this series is supposed to be funny, well I never laughed.

Not in series 1. Not in 2 nor in 3.

What's good about this is is the scenery,.

I will not watch this again. Ever.

As a Dutch I am very interested in WWI. In Holland we do not know much about this war as we were not in it.

This series follow the family Boesman from Gent.

The 2 sons are fighting in the war. They are very different. One is a bit of a hustler, the other is in love with a girl he has never met.

The daughter escapes from occupied Gent to England to become a nurse. During the series their paths cross.

Father is a gynecologist who seems to make all the wrong choices.

Mother is trying to get through the war as good as she can with 2 Germans living in her house and all her children at the front line.

Overall this is a good series. Good story lines with some decent action.

I enjoyed it, although I found the end a bit daft.

This series goes from good (series 1), OK (series 2) to bad and boring (series 3). And now there's talk about a series 4. Please don't.

The series is about a woman (Carmen) whose family is in the drug business. As her husband is killed her happy family life is overand she becomes very much involved in the business.

We all know these kind of stories, but being set in Amsterdam and with good acting the first series was very good.

Series 2 brought in some new characters and was pretty much OK, although it didn't have the good story lines.

Series 3 was completely unbelievable (Carnen takes on the Russian as well as the Mexican Maffia).

So if you wanna see some decent dutch acting, watch series 1 and leave it at that.
