Kara Sevda
(2015)

Best drama series - give you a complete dish of everything
The main storyline is beautiful. It shows us how we can be stronger as long as we have someone to love and be loved. This series also highlighted the value of family, personal value. Although Emir character is unbelievable evil, I still can feel how lonely he is. Burak, Neslihan and Kaan are the main ingredients in this long series. It's an emotional roller coaster. I can feel the strong connection between Kemal and Nihan. But I can't deny an amazing chemistry between Nihan and Emir although in a negative way. The trio is unbelievably make the characters alive. Other supporting roles which is a scene stealer is Leyla. What a wonderful lady, incredible character. This is the best Turkish drama I've ever seen. No wonder this series got an Emmy. Bravo.

Muhtesem Yüzyil: Kösem
(2015)

Season 1 is remarkable, but not season 2
The most exciting and amazing part of 60 episodes is when Beren Saat become Kösem Sultan. That's what the 9 is for. The chemistry between Beren and Ekin is so beautiful. Especially the last days of Sultan Ahmed. But have to admit that I'm very disappointed with season 2. I'm not familiar with the Ottoman history, but I find it difficult to follow Season 2. I couldn't find the magnificent Kösem Sultan and all I see is the rudeness of Sultan Murad and bad relationship between mother and son.

Hayat Sirlari
(2017)

9 for ...
9 for the chemistry between Burak and Seher. Also for the sibling bond among Kemal, Seher and Shirin. The plot is neat at the beginning. I was disappointed for the ending although it is happy ending. But not solving the main problem.

Aladdin
(2019)

New refreshing Aladdin and Jasmine
It's kinda unfair to wish this live action movie is exactly the same with the original animated version. It's an adaptation and with a little bit surprising plotline, I enjoyed it very much. Mena Massoud is the real deal as Aladdin. Naomi Scott is strong as the new version of Jasmine. And Will Smith appears as a genie with brotherly character for Aladdin. Full of CGI? Of course. If we want to see Abu and Magic Carpet and the Cave of Wonder, prepare yourself for the world of CGI. My suggestion is simple. Watch this movie without comparing anything with the original one. Enjoy it.

Mary Poppins Returns
(2018)

EMILY BLUNT IS THE SOUL OF MARY POPPINS RETURNS
Emily Blunt is amazing. Although it's quite slow started, but it's getting more excited and entertaining through the rest of the movie. Full of values and positive messages not only for children but also for adults. I don't mind about the songs. Afterall this is a story, not a biopic or real experience from someone. So I let myself enjoy all the songs, costumes, magic, Emily Blunt and the little Georgie Banks.

A Man Called Ahok
(2018)

INSPIRING
Let's not think about anything related to cinematography. Focus on the storyline and you'll be amazed that you were drown into Ahok's family. After all this time, this is the first Indonesian movie that really inspiring. That helping people is very important. That our act of kindness will linger forever in other people's memory. That you suppose to use your skills and knowledge to help people to get a better life. Not to mention that Denny Sumargo is amazing as Ahok's father. To me, this is his best performance. The screenwriter and the director really know exactly when to stop telling story. If people think that this movie is to make Ahok as a hero, you are 100000% wrong. This movie show us that nobody's perfect. That everything in this world should have a purpose and you have to do the best that you can to earn it. Worth to watch with your teen children.
