Down to Earth
(2000)

It's like two different shows
I watched the first two series of this show + it was fantastic. Cosy Sunday drama kinda thing, so not everyone's cup of tea, but it was quite unique as far as I'm concerned...very quirky and different. It was not afraid to put major setbacks in the family's life, and not afraid to have a sad ending to an episode unlike other cosy dramas I've seen. However, at the beginning of series 3, when the original family moved out and a new one moved in, the show lost something for me. I had grown attached to the old family, and to replace them so suddenly made me stop watching, so I can't really comment on the show post series 2, but from what I saw it wasn't a patch on the first two series.

Shallow Hal
(2001)

the plot was good in theory...
I heard about this film from a friend who said it was really good...she told me the basic idea of the film - a normally very shallow man bewitched to see the inner beauty of women. that has the potential to be extremely funny, but the film disappointed me - I don't think I laughed once! however, jack black and gwyneth paltrow were very convincing in their roles and the plot was fairly original though predictable...perhaps there could be a re-make?

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
(2003)

wow!!!
jack sparrow has got to be one of the best characters in movie history!!! I loved him before he even said his first line. johnny depp played him fantastically, and orlando bloom, keira knightley and geoffrey rush were brilliant in role too, and not forgetting mackenzie crook from TV series "the office". the whole film was thoroughly enjoyable, and perhaps the best thing about it was its' unpredictability!!! it has action, romance, and the part with the crew walking across the sea bed was quite creepy! I think that whoever you are, there is bound to be an aspect of this film you will love.

A Little Princess
(1995)

best film ever
I just love this film...it has brilliant acting, particularly from liesel matthews who plays the little princess sara crewe and the setting and storyline are faultless. there is a presence throughout the film of something special, and at the end, you are left believing in yourself. a fantastic film that has everything you could ask for in a heart-warming classic.
