Stay
(2006)

Less about honesty; more about full disclosure.
Less about honesty; more about full disclosure. She had no obligation to tell him about this singular incident in order to be honest. He did not ask her if she had ever done what she did.

Weeds

Maybe I'm too old
Nancy Botwin was an interesting combination of naive and capable. For awhile. Unfortunately the more she learns the less she knows. The less she knows the more despicable she becomes. That's okay. The fact the other characters in this show never seem to get it, no matter how unbelievably horrible she treats everyone, gets old. The incredibly weak circumstances that keep drawing them all back in is frustrating to watch. I do not like to leave a show unfinished. I never walk out on a bad movie. I want it to redeem itself. I am watching the final episode of the seventh season. If it was so stupid it was funny then I could endure the stupid. I just don't think I can make it through thirteen more episodes of everyone wanting to cling to the Nancy train when she clearly could not care less about any of them and makes no effort to hide it.

The Blacklist

A Mixed Bag!
Spader is well worth the watch and all 5 of my stars are for him.

However..........

If you are watching Batman, or the like, you can suspend all belief as it is fiction inside of fiction. This show tries too hard to make the task force seem like a real task force while having them bend too easily at Red's every whim. They must be incompetent much too often to allow each episode to spin out of control only to have Red save it. It gets old fast.

Red gives Keen, and the task force, very little for his own personal gain, and they rationalize it every time. It feels as if the show runners are aware the premise is weak requiring a weekly scene explaining, poorly, why this works. He kills people right in front of them and they don't seem to mind. It has become cartoonish.

He has crossed and double crossed Lizzy to the point of no return yet she goes along over and over and over. Often she justifiably hates him and then oddly loves him, as if the awful thing he did never happened. Many complain about Boone's acting. It is not the best. But it is also an awful character to portray. Her character is used to push us out and reel us back in, constantly. She really serves no other purpose.

If I were not watching on Netflix during the Virus Lockdown I most likely would have abandoned it by now. Spader has been given a character he can sink his teeth into and he has done so. The rest is mindless and misguided fodder.
