All of Us Strangers
(2023)

Dumb, Melodramatic, Pointless and Affected
I am not sure what the rest of the 31 reviewers watched, but it can't be the same movie I just dragged myself through. Toward the end I leaned over to a friend and whispered, "If he's been dead and rotting on the bed the whole time, I am done with this move," and voila. Here we are.

I will make one point: gay men are not destined to be miserable, alone, addicted and sad, so I wish we would stop making movies that always have these miserable endings. It is not to say there aren't problems that make a big impact, but to say that, yes, we can be over come and have happy endings in our lives. End.

Midsomer Murders: Dressed to Kill
(2023)
Episode 4, Season 23

Painful to Watch
Wow, was this episode bad. So uncomfortable to watch the actors try to take it seriously. It felt like a farce instead of a crime drama. Exaggerated stereotypes, forced topical messaging, annoying characters. It was like Midommer Horror Picture Show where everyone ends up in some form of women's lingerie even though it makes no sense for the character. I think it was intended to be fun but it ended up coming across with weird, awkward vibe like you walked in on your dad wearing your mom's clothes and lip-synching to Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" while looking at himself in the mirror. Lastly, the murder weapon was a high-heeled shoe to the head as if the skull is weaker than the heel of a shoe, and I'm not sure why they wasted Clare Hingott on the part of the victim.

House of the Dragon
(2022)

"S" For Satisfactory
Production value is great and a lot of talented people stood up what we have seen for first half of the season. But the things wrong are all the things wrong with the last few scenes of GOT with none of the intrigue. A rushed yet drab plot, boring scenes, anything graphic feels affected (violence, sex, etc) and flat characters whose names all start with R and sound the same - don't get me started in why we had to have two actors for young and old roles with not much aging between the two. I really want to like this show and I will probably watch a few more episodes but may give up and face terms with the fact that GOT is over and it's time for something new.

Obi-Wan Kenobi
(2022)

80s-Level Quality
I'm NOT a Star Wars "fanboy" and don't look at everything the franchise produces through a critical lens. But, this show is just dumb. An Oscar-level lead with top-notch special effects coupled with low-rent writing, directing and supporting cast. The Leia chases are for shows that infants watch. Reva is terribly cast. The plot is for an ABC after school special. You have to REALLY want to like this show to like it.

Everything's Gonna Be Okay
(2020)

So, So, So Bad
It's an uncomfortable plot that drives close to inappropriate...a lot. I hate the boyfriend and don't believe for a minute that either he or Nicolas work anywhere but maybe a GAP (dentist and entomologist tho?). I think Josh Thomas is the weakest part of the show because he's just too "Josh Thomas" to be anyone but himself. There is a huge potential with all the kids and they should have made Matilda and Genevieve the lead roles.

I love Please Like Me and Josh Thomas, but this one needs a lot of work.
