Pee Mak Phrakanong (2013)
An excellent mix of Comedy, Romance and Horror.
Pee mak Phrakanong was a movie that was surprisely good. The Director managed to have a nice mix of Comedy, Romance and Horror. It wasn't too much of anything.
I think you have to get adapted to the Thai humor. It is completely different compared western comedies, but I must admit that I can appreciate the Thai humor more than nowadays.
The movie didn't have way too much romance and the horror part was good. It wasn't the best horror or romance movie you'll probably have watched, but this three genre's are making it into a great movie. One of the better ones for me in 2013.

Jack Reacher (2012)
Expectations too high
I thought 'Jack Reacher' was going to be a great movie compared to the book 'One Shot'. It's a great book and it doesn't really matter if the actors were changed a bit to reach a bigger group, but the movie is way overrated.
There's way too less action and Tom Cruise just doesn't fit in as main character. I guess the author could do a much better job by selecting better qualified actors for those roles instead of finding famous actors.
I think this movie has been overrated by the public and it doesn't deserve a positive note. Just because the story is a quite unfamiliar story for Hollywood, I'll give it a 5/10 and than I'm still generous.

Mi in (2000)
Different, but Surprising.
When I was watching the Trailer of the movie 'Mi in/La Belle' and I must admit that I didn't expect much of it. I just gave it a chance to watch it though and it ended up in quite a good story.
I never expected a movie like this to be that good which is only based on 2 actors. The Guy that's a soft boring guy and a woman that's trying to be confident and sure about herself while she's totally not confident.
It's a beautiful story what the producer is trying to show to us. It's sometimes quite hard to understand what he really wants to show to us, but the story is mostly understandable if you keep watching it without any influence of friends or alcohol.

Love Summer (2011)
A Real Comedy
Love Summer is a Thai comedy about three guys (1 foreigner and 2 Thai) that are planning to make a trip to Phuket from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport). During their road trip to Phuket (famous island for Tourists in Thailand), they'll meet two more girls which will join them on their trip which ends up in a few dilemmas. I'm not going to tell you guys more about it, but that's up to you to watch it or not.
Thai comedy is a style of humor that you've to love as person. I could quite respect the Thai humor, cause I've been growing up with Thai persons. It's quite different than Hollywood humor. Of course you'll notice that the budgets are lower in Thailand for comedy movies, but you'll see that those small budgets end up quite well with producing some movies, sceneries et cetera.
The movie didn't have any boring moment between it. There was always something that kept your attention to watch it. The only thing that I was missing is that their were some scenes that they had to show some more things to make it funnier and nicer.

USS Seaviper (2012)
Disappointment first class
I thought there was finally an new upcoming submarine movie after a while when I saw him on IMDb, but afterwards when I watched it, it was seriously one big disappointment. I couldn't follow the story at all. The story was not clear and I have no idea why there was a fight between the Chief and Cutter (At least not the cause). Bad acting as well and I've seen some great movies who achieved a nice movie with an much lower budget. I wouldn't recommend you guys to watch it. It's not worth to pay for it. Waste of money. I seriously hope there is someone who's still able to overclass 'Das Boot'. Das Boot is seriously an masterpiece. Director disappointed me
Nova Zembla (2011)
A different dutch movie
Firstable I thought this will be a typical dutch movie when I ordered a ticket to watch this movie with a load sex etc in it.
When I start watching it in the cinema, it became clearly that it's an different style of movie. It was clearly about our own history and nothing more, but be aware that you know something about our history to know what's happening about it. Even there aren't big acting stars in it, but that's making the movie more realistic and of course it's an tribute to those heroes which have been trying it to reach the far east via the north of Nova Zembla (the first ship who was able to was invented in 1932 by an Russian ship)
It's absolutely worth to watch.
