The Old Man
(2022)

Its not that good IMO
Starts well, but quickly grinds to a halt. A spy thriller a lot like that Russell Crown Brad Pitt garbage at times. Its held together by good characters, good directing, and decent dialogue, but it becomes dependent on dialogue which is bad for a spy movie. The action is average at best. Almost no comedy as well.

The King's Man
(2021)

Garbage revisionist history
This was painful to watch. The script is boring. The action is repetitive. It seems like its nothing more than post WWI propaganda.

Even down to the priest muttering "it is sweet and proper to die for ones country", as if it were scripture, this garbage portrays real situations in the light of making WW I seem based on the nonsense of monarchy dispute, and not what we all know it was all about.

Five Minutes of Heaven
(2009)

Total Originality for once
Not only is this film original, but it pulls off a powerful emotion that can make anyone feel whats its like for some redemption in an otherwise lost life.

The Tax Collector
(2020)

"Are you serious?" Guy is 100% right
This is a joke of a script that is directed so well that you get into it, only to have the rug completely yanked out from under you by the ridiculously bad story line that goes from unknown to never was. Go ahead, watch it and come away with theatrical blue balls.

Noah
(2014)

I was in this ...
Sadly I was in this as an extra for this abomination. I had no idea how unscriptural it was going to turn out. And it's just an awful film too.

Added to which I got hypothermia under that ark in the stupid arboretum in Long Island while they dumped millions of gallons of water through high pressure hoses hooked up to 100 foot high scaffolding on us all night in the cold of late September. Not cool.

The Story of Ruth
(1960)

Contradiction
I had high hopes that this amazing story wouldn't contradict scripture but it does in 1 significant way.

In the Bible, Naomi tells her daughter-in-laws to go back to their families instead of with her. If this story were true that would've never happened.

This is an incredibly romantic story however and I feel like it is a time machine into the darkness of child sacrifice and paganism with a powerful presence of God persists in the Israelites. It is some of the most emotionally charged cinema I've ever seen.

Honestly, I loved it, but sadly the contradiction prevents me from loving it in truth. After all, truth is 100%, not 99%.

Lethal Weapon
(2016)

Decent but Riggs watered down
My biggest problem with this show is that Riggs is nowhere near the bad@ss he is in the movie. He fights like garbage, he misses the occasional shot and he lacks the insanity of Gibson's Riggs. Otherwise its a decent cop show. Wayans is OK in his older years. His family is good supporting cast. Police psych lady is a hottie.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers
(2017)

Goon's Legend Tarnished
Goon was a cult-classic, and while Goon 2 brought back the majority of the cast, making it sentimental, most of them looked older, and the writing was awful.

Other than a decent villain (Cain) and a strong performance by Schrieber (Ross the Boss Rhea) there was no real story to enjoy, regurgitated jokes and lines from the original lacked any flavor, the lock-out (?), what the hell did that even have to do with anything?

There was no growth from the ending of Goon for anyone, especially LaFlamme, which makes me sad. My imagination had him soaring to the Hall of Fame after Doug resurrected his career, but no. The jokes were way stupider, and overall this film is horrible.

I hate it when this stuff happens. I'll always remember the original as one of the best surprise films I've ever seen.

Spider-Man: Homecoming
(2017)

Not even top 3 of the Spiderman flicks
The disaster of Sam Remi's SpiderMan 3 is the only reason I don't totally long for days gone past with SpiderMan films. The first two were amazing, with 2 being even better than 1. Garfield's two films were equally decent, which leaves all but Spiderman 3 as better than this film.

Bad villain. Bad Flash. Bad love interests. Average comedy. Decent sidekick. Stupid premise. Too many dark scenes ( I miss Remi's bright "power ranger" take on the costume and scenes). The new suit could've been so much better also.

Other than a good performance by Holland, this film is a bad movie in a pretty bow. Sad they can't even make good superhero movies anymore.
