Special Ops: Lioness
(2023)

Ignore the Good Reviews
When they talk about room clearing, it's not tactically entering a structure and clear rooms of possible threats. It means this awful show clears living room of viewers.

All these good reviews talk about how this is a great espionage show. There's almost no espionage, but just one plant partying with the target. They do more domestic action than actual ones overseas. We all know that TV CIA does not do any domestic spying. All that is done by TV FBI.

The family life of the lead will give you a headache. Way too much domestic life trauma.

The problem of this show that it takes liberties of things that we all know in these types of shows. Like you don't shoot someone with a suicide vest. 99.9% of the time, they'll have a dead-man trigger.

Terror on the Prairie
(2022)

Robotic and Razzie Worthy
Carano cancels herself again with terrible and stiff acting. Reviewers are saying this is her comeback from the backlash of her insensitive comments. But this is merely a statement of what a horrible actor she is...

When they try to cancel Sean Penn, he wins Oscars. But Carano is worthy of winning the Razzies.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Elysian Kingdom
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 1

A Different Voyage
I was getting TOS vibes. It felt nostalgic. The writers are differently pulling all the stops. I have to admit, I was getting impatient, but it paid off at the end.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach
(2022)
Episode 6, Season 1

Another "Star Trek" Win
It's rare that I rate anything a "10." It means it's perfect. This is why I watch so many Star Trek shows after TNG, in hopes to get that perfect show. None came up until now. The episodes keeps getting better and better.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Spock Amok
(2022)
Episode 5, Season 1

I Smiled... A Lot
This episode surprised me. I smiled a lot. I mean, I laughed a few times. Aside from the very light side stories, Captain Pike delivered a memorable and quotable speech at the end.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
(2022)

Carrying on the tradition
Star Trek has always been "woke." Some are commenting on that.

I'm looking for more adventures. Looking for more connections and discoveries. So far, it's seems to be in the right path.

So welcome. Enjoy this 5 year mission into more.

Moon Knight

Yes! Finally. Disney+ has a winner
We all feel like Steven with a V and want to be like Marc dealing with all the crap in the world.

Great action, and character development from the get go. Woo haaa! Yes!

The Guilty

Intense Performance; Biased Reviews Compares to Original
Folks will always compare movies if it was a remake to original. Often giving a lower rating than the original.

I didn't see the original so I don't have a biased review.

This was intense.

Free Guy
(2021)

Lego the Movie meets the Matrix
It gave me that Master Builder meets Neo vibe. Down to songs, "Everything is Awesome" and Mariah's "Fantasy" playing constantly in the background.

Nevertheless, I really, really enjoyed this movie with my wife and son, along with 3 others in the theater. It felt good coming back to an actual theater. I always waited at the end of a movie's run until I go out watch and this kind of felt like that. But, this was the very first movie I watched on opening day. And this was a real good one to watch.

Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 2
(2021)
Episode 13, Season 3

Three Seasons to Finally "Boldy Go..."
Most of the reviews missed the entire plot for this season, or entire series. While most series establishes a premise for the how a show will go in a few episodes, it took Discovery 3 seasons. It's a launch of new "discoveries." I admit, I was impatient. I was bothered by seeing this is very different than all the other Star Treks. But it wasn't. It took time, heck it took over 700 hundred years, to finally establish its intent to discover.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue
(2020)
Episode 8, Season 2

Watched with Tears of Awe
I saw the original in the movies when it was released in 1978. As a kid, I was awestruck. Now I watched this episode with my kid and I saw the look in his eyes was the same as mine when I first experienced SW.

By the way, he called it. I said, NOOOO!

The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi
(2020)
Episode 5, Season 2

A Legit Martial Artist - Bruce Lee and Danny Inosanto
Diana Lee Inosanto is a practitioner of Jeet Kun Do and Filipino Martial Arts. I didn't recognize her until the credits but her skills with weapons made me realize she really knew her stuff. It's awesome to see Bruce Lee and Danny Inosanto represented by Ms. Inosanto. Awesome!

The Queen's Gambit
(2020)

A Series that's a Chess Analogy
It takes patience and you'll see it's brilliant storytelling.

Suits

One of the Two Best Lawyers
If you ever need a good civil lawyer, you can never go wrong with one of these two Mike or Harvey. But if need a good criminal lawyer, better call Saul.

It's official. Will Ferrell has become the Nick Cage of comedy.

Breaking Bad

Best Show to Binge Watch During Lockdown
Rewatched it after it ended a few years back. I remembered the plot, I remembered that I enjoyed it. But I forgot the subtle nuances and it made it more enjoyable the second time around. Best watched during this lockdown.

Star Trek: Picard: Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2
(2020)
Episode 10, Season 1

A Worthy Continuation of a Trek
There are many types of Star Trek fans. And many of those fans hate change. One thing for sure that we all love as trekkies is to "boldly go..."

"Picard" just does that. It continues the tradition of going to places we have yet to discover. Whether it be space, subspace or our conscience, "Picard" carries that tradition.

Crown Vic
(2019)

Low Budget Street Masterpiece
It's up there with End Of Watch and Training Day when it comes with grit.

The Morning Show: The Interview
(2019)
Episode 10, Season 1

And the Emmy Goes to
This episode will help get the entire series and cast some deserving Emmies.

They were able to put a lot of twists in one episode. I found myself cursing and cheering, laughing and crying.

Nancy Drew
(2019)

Adults are bad, teens good.
I get it. The teens are much more "woke" than the bumbling adults. I found the commercials in between scenes more entertaining than this.

Cool Hand Luke
(1967)

Worked at the Prison
After the Marine Corps and fresh from graduating at UC Davis, I was hired to work at the San Joaquin Juvenile Detention Center. At French Camp, near Stockton, the facility was in the middle of nowhere. When they gave me a tour, they told me that Cool Hand Luke was film there. I could see a VHS copy of the movie at their library. New inductees would be shown the film.

I never get tired of watching this movie. It's methodical, but well acted. After 25 years of leaving and finding other work, I still enjoy watching it.

The Twilight Zone: The Comedian
(2019)
Episode 1, Season 1

What Did I Just Watch?
This just didn't seem genuine. It's reaching. I found myself wanting it to end so I can check out the next episode and give it one more chance.

Us
(2019)

Great Performance by Nyong'o BUT...
Ms Nyong'o performance was one of the best in her career. She shines. However, the performance of others in this mediocre pseudo-Hitchcock thriller falls short...way short.
