You Are Wanted
(2017)

Boring and somehow familiar story line
Maybe being the actor of the main character, regisseur and writer of a series in one person was too much. I was looking forward to the heavily advertised series, but was disappointed afterwards.

Yes, Matthias Schweighöfer is a brilliant actor, sadly it is almost the only one. Karoline Herfurth and especially Tom Beck are not on Schweighöfers level of quality. Maybe Tom Beck should have stayed with "Cobra 11" instead.

Additionally the story line is very shallow, a simple cinema movie would have been the better solution for this script.

The result is a boring and sometimes even annoying, predictable series.

Ghostbusters
(2016)

No matter if male or female. This is a horrible movie
Alright,I know there is a lot of stuff on the internet about feminism and ruining the heritage of the old ghostbusters. That's why I told myself: Take your girlfriend and watch it. Fun fact: There were a lot of women in the audience (Stuttgart, Germany) but they didn't't seem like feminists. Talked to a few and they were simply curious about the fuzz, just as me. Alright, let's get to the movie. The female cast is a little awkward, you get the feeling that some actors aren't really that good. They seem to miss their lines or pronouncing the (obviously bad scripted)jokes wrong. After all, this was simply a terrible movie. Terrible acting and a terrible script. The gender of the actors simply doesn't matter. Terrible male actors would have created a movie just as bad as this one.

Warcraft
(2016)

Single non-fanboy review
Today was the day. I trusted a 7,5 IMDb rating and got betrayed. I knew there was a game called "world of warcraft", I knew there is a huge fan base but I did not expect all of them to rate this movie with ten stars on IMDb.

About the movie: A very thin story line, a lot of artificial dramaturgy, parallels to Tarzan and Pocahontas, sometimes extremely bad CGI, compared with sometimes average and sometimes really, really bad acting.

After all I was really happy when the movie came to an end,I will definitely not watch any other parts. One more thing: Non-WOW Fanboys: Do not watch this piece of cringe-worthy piece of "art".

And as a humble German: Sorry for my bad English.

Kill Your Friends
(2015)

Cynical and brilliant movie
I wasn't even sure if watching this movie is a good idea. But not trusting in the IMDb points proved me right once again. Kill your friends builds up the dramaturgy to a certain point, never getting too abstract or unrealistic. I have spent way too much time in London and in London's clubs and pubs to find the abuse of alcohol or cocaine unrealistic. And that was 2015. I couldn't imagine the music business in the 80s and 90s. On top of the storyline comes a brilliant cast. Nicholas Hoult is unexpectedly brilliant. I only knew him from warm bodies but this is a big leap in his acting. One of my favorite films until now in 2016.

Sorry for the bad English.

The Revenant
(2015)

Best movie of 2014
I really don't like giving 10/10 points, because almost every film could be better in some way. Put simple: this one couldn't get better.

Quite the easy storyline packed in breathtaking pictures, dramatic scenes and heart-stopping moments.

DiCaprio and the producers managed to make you feel the pain, the hunger, make you feel uncomfortable, cold and hurt in your comfy seat. It makes you want to give the actor on the screen a warm blanket.

The movie pulls you into the harsh wilderness, shows you the beauty and horror of untouched nature.

This, by far is my best movie 2014. It should get an Oscar, but even if not, DiCaprio can be proud of doing his best work yet.

Knight of Cups
(2015)

Waste of time (audience) and money (creators)
Maybe my German down-to-earth thinking makes me unable to like films like these.

I saw the cast and the trailer so I gave it a try. After the first five minutes I told myself "If this movie isn't changing in the next ten minutes, stop watching!". Unfortunately I kept on watching it and wasted two hours of my life.

The movie contains nothing but psychedelic background music, "artistic" camera movement and senseless sentences. Maybe some hardcore cineast or art student can like it, I simply can't.

If it was still 2014, I could say that this is by far the worst movie I saw this year.
