Ek Doctor Ki Maut
(1990)

one of the best
I think the other reviewers have said what I wanted to say already.

I just have to say this films is a top 10 best movies made in India. Too bad these films are largely ignored by Indian masses and most NRI's, who like to watch the no brain entertainers like KKKH, KKKG, DDLJ, Ready, Bodyguard etc..

This is a truly a film India can be proud of and show at international film festivals to western audiences and critics alike.

I wish Indians started to support films like these more and films made by Govind Nihlani, Shyam Benegal etc.. and this this would encourage more production of such movies.

Chhota Chetan
(1998)

It could have been a good film
This is the Hindi dubbed version released in 1998. The original was released in 1984. They have decided to re-shoot and add some new scenes with Satish Kaushik, Harish and Urmila. These added scenes have nothing to do with the original movie, and are boring and act more as a story breaker.

The original Malayalam version and the added new scenes really stand out really badly and are easily identifiable. They have so badly messed up the original movie, most of the time you don't even know what is happening.

I suggest you watch the original version as that is more simple, enjoyable and straightforward.

I have given it 4 stars for the scenes in the movie which are from the original 1984 movie. The new 1998 re-shot added scenes bring the movie down by 6 stars.

Shiva
(1989)

classic action movie
They don't make films like this anymore!

You can watch this movie many times you will never be bored. Raghuvaran and Nagarjuna excel in their roles.

Most of the films being released now whether Tamil, Telugu or Hindi are to unrealistic, like Rowdy Rathore, Wanted and others, that they just really miss the point regarding the social issues. Action sequences are also unrealistic.

This film is raw, 95% real, to the point and hard hitting just like action films should be.

RGV since this movie has not ever matched the quality of this work again (barring maybe Satya).

Jab Tak Hai Jaan
(2012)

Cannot believe the same director made Trishul, Deewar, Silsila
It is hard to believe the same director made true classics such as Trishul, Deewar, Kaala Pathar and Silsila.

What an awful and very boring movie.

This movie is just another typical modern day Yash Raj movie, over acting foreign locales, 2nd rate foreign actors, NRI's shown as people with loose character, no original story and brainless dialogues, screenplay, unbelievable display of wealth.

If I was Yash Chopra I would have made sure that my last movie is a classic and memorable movie on the lines of the 3 movies I have mentioned above, unfortunately he didn't. At least with the budget and technicians at his disposal he could have made a movie which was 100% Indian and original, but alas, no.

The people who will support this movie are the people who like other brainless so called "blockbuster" movies such as KKKH, KKKG, Ready, Bodyguard, Namastay London etc....you know what type of films I mean!! If these type of films continue to be successful we are heading towards the death of Indian cinema.
