Quick Renovations for deserving Christians
First of all, the host, as beautiful as she is, is terribly annoying. Actually all the lead characters are loud, fake & super annoying. I like the concept of the series but it's hard to get over the annoying screaming and yelling in excitement all the time. So I scrolled forward to the end to see what had been done. I enjoyed the makeovers. Some of the things they did were very innovative. But what I found the most annoying is the fact that every "deserving" person just happened to be extremely religious and a leader in their church and all the good they did through their church and so on.

For me it was like having these gawd-awful Christian values shoved down my throat. I don't care what your religious views are, I respect them, but keep them out of my face. If people want to good, that is great, but to do it for the sake of "Christian values" stinks in my opinion. All people should do good, not because of a religious belief but because that is what it is to be a good fellow human. Period. I love Christianity for its contribution to art but that does not cancel out the millions of people who have been (and are being) killed, tortured and still are being treated like terribly because of and in the name of Christianity (3/4 of Africa as well as most of South America, Poland, Russia and so on, all have laws against being gay all thanks to Christianity.) So. Great concept. But really crappy that religious views get dumped down our throats. And terribly annoying characters.

Downsizing
(2017)

Witty, beautiful, heartfelt, funny worth many more stars
I don't know why this movie has such a low rating, it's literally one of my favourite films. The lead characters are amazing, I find them to be so realistically human and very relatable. They are so loveable and easy to empathize with. Even the more eccentric characters are believable, and I feel like everyone knows someone like them.

It's also a film you end up laughing quite a bit with, yet I also ended up crying too. I think it's Matt Damon's best film. Hong Chau's role in the film is amazing and underrated. She plays the character who wakes Matt Damon up from the cloud of depression when he realizes how many people are bad off and how Hong Chau's character takes it upon herself to help others in need.

It's perhaps the environmental implications that are to blame for the low stars. But it's message is an important one.

Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen
(2020)

Should be shown in schools and to all politicians ans
This should be part of every schools curriculum. Very well made, very human and extremely eye opening, it's unfathomable that people can still be treated so differently and often badly in these modern times, we are all just human after all.

A Secret Love
(2020)

humans in love at it's most profound, what everybody in life wishes for
This love story is one of the most pure and real, probably ever made, nothing in it is made-up or superficial. It is just pure and simple love and family and more love. Imagine being with the person you love for over sixty years and have to call one another cousin instead of wife or partner. Imagine being lucky enough to have someone to love for that long. This movie is touching and beautiful and very very human.

Special
(2019)

Really genuine and fun, I smiled so much.
Really human, which I find rare with television these days. I love this show. It is a truly fantastic series. The story line and the characters and the acting too, most definitely not for everyone, but I thought it was just great.

Year One
(2009)

Better than the reviews
This is actually better than one would think... But I like biblical humour, and this is Jack Black!! He is someone who you either love or hate, so maybe that is the same with the movie. There are some great scenes and historical wit. The humour is a bit slapstick flat at times, but there is also a lot of silly, whacky and intelligent wit as well, things that would make almost anyone laugh.

The Little Hours
(2017)

Underrate Nice Film
This film made me smile and it is quite easy going. It hasn't got great reviews and I think that may be because they mock some aspects of Christianity, but not in a crude way. Maybe not for everyone, but I certainly really liked it.
