Good premise but shoddy screenplay and over dramatisation makes it such a below average movie

No intelligent deductions. Using a 'hacker' for filling the plot holes. What's the use of having a 'psychologist' for hero ? He was just getting all his answers from the 'hacker'. Not even one scene was intelligently written. Average at the best !

There was no need for the first half in the film. Absolutely no point in having any of the songs. Total drag. The movie slowly comes to the point only close to the interval - nothing that happens in the first half is necessary for the core story. Entire first half could have been composed is 2 sentences. What was the point of showing the lead's first love and a duet added for no reason !? The reveal was so confusing and convoluted and all that invoked was sleep. Drag of a screenplay and rubbish writing.

Excellent writing, direction, acting and production values. A little gem and a treat for horror fans !

First of all this movie is an amazing visual treat. Got the pleasure of watching in 3D IMAX ! and boy did I love it ! Ang lee has proved once again that his story narrating capabilities overshadow (rightly so) whatever glitter feature that is present in his movies (amazing VFX in this one). The movie grips you right till the end and at one point or the other everyone can relate himself with the lead character Pi. That according to me is the ultimate achievement of Ang Lee. Speaking about the VFX, this movie could well set a benchmark for all the 3D movies to follow.The visuals don't engulf the narration rather it complements it.Go watch it now. Treat your eyes to something spectacular !!
