Welkeomtu Samdal-ri
(2023)

A so and so
Okay, after seeing many kdramas, I believe I can place this one next to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha with a big difference: the lead actress in Samsal-ri is working with a less interesting character . I do believe that's the Mai's problem with the series- a not relatable protagonist. There are moments where she just feels flat, shallow (even when the series try to show that she is not) .

There is a good chemistry, but up to the moment she is still a so and so character struggling with her career and life situations.

I didn't what yet the end of the series but I doubt the character will grow on me ... the story could be a little bit more well embroidered too. Not yet one of my favs .

Invincible: It's Been a While
(2023)
Episode 4, Season 2

Missing logic ?
I am surprised that this episode is gathering so many positive reviews .

People, this episode turn me completely off from the series . There is no logic to it:

He decided to attack and take earth by force, with almost no regards about his family - family that he created during 20 years - but from scratch he is now with a new family and doing his best to save them , even using is older child , risking his life, to save them.

A family that he has just created... okay, there is truly no sense to it , no logic . Obviously the fight scenes etc are well crafted but still, where is the story ? We need ground to walk on.

Sex Education
(2019)

The last season is dreadful
Okay, sex education was an outstanding show. The three seasons were amazingly written and possibly one of the best coming of age of the decade:
  • all all characters and stories were gaining a truth depth , with humor and pain . Beautifully mixed !

They managed to create a strong story with captivating people - the actors were amazing in their parts too.

But here we are , at the end , and so disappointed.

The fourth season lacks depth and logic , with only two decent characters that deserve some praise - Aimee and Ruby (more or less) .

The other characters were just filling in parts to show as much diversity and craziness as possible . Most of the new characters lacked logic and consistency and depth . It was palpable that they were there just to represent some kind of minority. Even if it's great to have all minorities represented , at least they should have their stories well developed but it was impossible . Most of them didn't bring anything to the table !

It was poorly mixed and written .

Truly disappointing to see how such great series turned up to be such a dull and annoying story where everyone acts as nonsenses ...

And then, they decide to have faith represented and some "magic" in the middle . The "magic" part was so frustrating and took me completely off . When we have such relatable characters , real people , we shouldn't add those kind of "magic moments" as it gets away of our reality .

I wish I stayed up to the third season only .

From
(2022)

Season 1 and 2
There series start in a slow burn but that keep us hooked . We follow the first season trying to understand what is happening, to have some kind of explanation. It just builds up to the last episode and no answers.

Second season starts and they decide to add more things, different, without much context . They are just building so many different plots without caring about the characters.

There are strong actors here but the feel flat due to the lack of development . Some come and go as their plot stop to add up but 3 episodes after , here you have them again to carry on their plot (that is alienated , sometimes uninteresting and without adding much to the story) .

First season was far better and made us interested but the second shows that the writers are grasping for ideas to create a good narrative . Episodes build up and always end in a cliffhanger that , in the next episode , is just nothing important ...

Frustrating and I don't feel they can save the series . First season is good, but after that nop.

It is difficult to find good shows that improve from season to season ...

The Wheel of Time
(2021)

The night scenes are impossible to watch
The series have a strong story that tends to be flat in every episode .

When something important seems to happen, it just feels vanilla . Plain. Uninteresting .

Even the fight scenes don't bring much joy . It doesn't look cheap made, but there's a cheap way of fabricating the story .

The characters are more annoying than enjoyable . I almost can't root for anyone , as they all are uninspiring and committed to do bad decisions for plot.

But something that I feel is truly disappointing: the night scenes .

I wonder if these people that created the series did watch ir before putting it on air .

It's plain dark . I'm just guided by their voices and noises . I truly struggle to understand what is happening .

Good actors that don't have the space to show their potential .

Most of all: their characters lack dept - real dept , to make us understand more of them.

To be sincere , this is one of the most disappointing series I've seen this year . I'm finishing EP7 of S02 and meh... nothing special .

Inside Man
(2022)

Sopa opera - bad one
I'm in the third episode and I truly can't cope with everything about these series .

I truly tried to see it up to the end but I can't cope anymore with how stupid characters are . How bad decisions are obviously taken to create a ridiculous and nonsense story .

Nothing saves the series . It is truly one of the worst I've seen this year .

I'm one of those people that when starts a series , even not liking it , I try to finish because , sometimes , we get good surprises / endings .

Im not sure if I will manage to end it .

If you want to see nonsense decisions and telenovela , well, here you have it.

Inside Man: Episode #1.1
(2022)
Episode 1, Season 1

Good start but what the hell
So, it started really well vir then just turns up to be a joke . The most crazy and stupid decision after decision

I truly can't believe the logic behind it . No one in its perfect mind would decide to do what the priest decides to do

. I'm going to waste my time and carry on with the series but I truly feel it will be a joke after joke

Well, not only bad decisions from one character , but all . All are ridiculous in some of their decisions

I need to write more characters but overall, people, keep your hopes low because it doesn't look living up to the investment

I'll try to carry on and give a final opinion . I can only hope for smarter writing.

The Last of Us: Long, Long Time
(2023)
Episode 3, Season 1

Sad
This episode is a masterpiece.

In a zombie type world, they managed to craft a story that showed the best of humanity and what love can do for people: love makes you thrive and survive as much as a weapon. Also, it creates the necessary net for the main character understand what he needs to do. He is seeing more than ever what love and protection can do , and the final letter gives him pain and enlightenment.

Unfortunately a big part of the community fail to see it - and it's funny how an episode about love and humanity shows that we lack that so much - are we the real zombies ? -

I was weird out for the 7,9 reviews and checked it - 29,9% rates this episode with 1 star . This can only be explained with an homophobic view - even if you feel it didn't bring much to story , and I support that , how can you not see the episode development and how was well written , acted and made ? Almost 30% voted 1 star and that is scary because my main explanation is: people are zombies, and people are homophobic, and people are incapable to see a story for what it is . We may not face an apocalyptic world in 24 hours, but humanity are doing an apocalyptical behavior for a long time now and it shows here .

Episode 16, Season 1

Not a romantic kdrama
I believe that 99% of people see this kind of romantic kdrama series to run away from the grey reality we live in .

Kdramas are slow built , and amazingly built , to make us linger in a dream like sensation where we float over these characters and , i part , we pass through them and we suffer a bit to, at the end , have our happy ending . It's basically a better Disney movie , with a more fortunate story telling (sometimes).

These series are great , even the end is good but , at the same time , we don't feel complete . We are not happy. Not entirely. If it's not for us to be happy, let's see other shows with a non-romantic storytelling . This one feels like when you are having sex but you can't finish it , you don't get the climax and the other person leaves before that . Disappointing.

The Imperfects
(2022)

Fun but not special
The series lacks a strong storyline and some bases through the episodes .

There's some situations and / or events that deserve and should be addressed but they decided to make it in a fast path and , sometimes, it creates too many story holes .

Too many situations happening and not a big interest in carry one from beginning to end .

Regarding the acting: The actors are mainly good , but some struggle to act ... you have some delivering really good characters and others that are school-level actors .

This is just one more series that is simply created to exist and not impress . Netflix is trying to sell quantity and not quality .

See it for fun, don't expect to be overwhelmed .

But enjoy the ride , it has its moments.

Partner Track
(2022)

Feels flat
One more Law firm for Romantics that are not willing to see something well detailed, well built , well developed . Good for people that don't want to think match . Good to make noise in the living room at night .

Everything is obvious, already done , and repeated: Friends that will fight and resolve it the best way possible . Bosses that are cold and heartless. Money speaking louder . Nice people against the money people . Uh. Same old same repeated in a very well dressed way .

Main character has more dumb decisions than the remain cast - if someone is really that good, would be doing the things she is doing in her private life ?

Even her sister - the story line and decisions , are for real ??? The earrings situation is just ridiculously unbelievably dumb.

Oh Morphy (poor Dominic). The actor is always overacting , to a point where his sexy-face is just ridiculous . At the end of the season he gets better but never good .

Regarding the remaining cast , better actors but struggling with the lack of content and development . Trapped in a fragile story where bad decisions need to happen to create more episodes because, to be sincere, there's a fragile and ridiculous story that will. It survive by itself .

Partner Track: Consequential Damages
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 1

Obvious bad decisions just to create a story
Ok, basic series and very poorly written in the "emotional part".

Dominic is dragging all the cost down - trying to much to be the mysterious guy, and not acting at all, just trying . A nice face isn't compensating at all.

The main character is between dumb and uninteresting , eager to do bad decisions because as a character she need to do those bad decisions to carry on a series that don't bring much . This episode shows everything we can expect: fabricated drama that average people wouldn't do because they have a brain .

They are trying their best to address racism but even that feels flat and lacks something deeper . They are not giving the decent character development before to give us impact . Really poor series.

Spriggan
(2022)

Dull old relic
The series , where relics from the past are central, is mimicking the old relics but with a problem: without the same importance .

Basic story lead by male protagonists with always a female in distress per episode . Ver "relic from the past " vibe on its storytelling , and not for good reasons .

No intro or character development- but the main protagonist and even that one lacks .

One of the worst animes I've ever seen . Do not waste your time unless you want to.

The positive part of the series - the animation. Good scenes .

The Umbrella Academy: Meet the Family
(2022)
Episode 1, Season 3

It could be better
Ok. Everything is good but the family fight .

It was just "kick your asses" because we need you to be beaten down to make up the rest of the story . So, the umbrella academy that have done several fightings is just smashed under them . To the point it's ridiculous . We could have seen some fighting but nop, only umbrellas being destroyed. I could go one by one and show why it's a week episode by what all the characters are representing but it will be a waste of time. I do believe it will get better but just dumb storyline. I was expecting so much more .

Killing Eve: Hello, Losers
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 4

Bad
Basically the writers killed the show.

Ending series is difficult, I know . Impossible to make everyone happy but it's important to try to keep the respect , the logical sorry telling.

This season was a big mess , and a big joke.

I'm not shocked with the final scene , but with the all season and the way it was ridiculously presented to us.

Fuimos canciones

The romanticism we no longer need
Women: you are better than this.

Despicable picture of how women reflect their emotions.

I believe they tried to give it a more up front vibe with some good old funny speeches (the one the main protagonist gives in the classroom to her former lover ) but all feels flat .

Just struggling women showing a huge sickness of judgement and auto control ...

Again, the romantic movie no one needs to see.

It doesn't even come close to the deep meaning that fleabag brings breaking the 4th wall (but it tries).

Kingdom: Ashin-jeon
(2021)

"The beginning"
Thank you for this amazing special episode.

It gives the space we need for season 3 and, most of all, explains why we are here now. Amazingly built up and the actress portraying Asher shines during the episode .

O Will understand some more traditional zombie fans feel turn off by the episode as this is not about zombies but about people - and sometimes people go too far. Kingdom is really a masterpiece that goes beyond the typical zombie dull horror. It's so much more!!!

Bad
Ok. It brings nothing new to the world.

All revolving in catchy phrases that we already heard somewhere else . Basic story with basic stories per episode .

I'm trying to finish it but it's truly one of the worst I've seen lately .

The protagonist is dull and her story his so unimpressive ... a girl promised to be so much more but avoiding it while trying to follow her daddy steps.

Please avoid this unless you have too much free time in your hands .

The Flight Attendant
(2020)

So bad that makes it funny
Ok. How to start this... the protagonist is pictured as the dumbest stupidest alienated character ever (character, not even a person as it's impossible for an average human being to be so stupid). It's so unreal that should be rated as a sci-fi. There are some good things but they are so tiny that it's impossible to give them a big appraisal - the what she manages to have a conversation with herself mirroring the dead guy is funny and different but hollow as it lacks depth. If we forget how people work and erase from a couple of minutes all the bad and unreal decisions , we can have a laugh . I do hope it gets better as the scores are being their best with so little . The lead character is funny and well projected as the dumbest person ever , and it helps . But it's not enough . See it if you don't want to think much and just want to see someone in constant panic with a funny face .

Fleabag
(2016)

Super!
An enthusiastic comedy that is not trying to picture Top Models as stars... I read here a review that says "the protagonist isn't pretty enough to be so confident" - my dear, this is not Hollywood and that's why it's so F* good: just normal crazy people that do a lot of wrongs - as we all normally do. Or wish to do in secret. Or do, and keep it a secret.

It's real, there's drama, there's time to laugh, all in 20 minutes. I'm really enjoying this new series and I hope it keeps this tracks!

Highlights: Boo flashbacks; protagonist sex life; the face to face camera time; the reality of minimal stuff (like the "london costing life") Weaknesses: no time to develop more other characters with potential and story lines
