I remember this film. I was a Senior in High school. It was an okay pilot. With a little polish, I think it would have made a pretty good series. The real star of the show was Art Scholl's (RIP) Super Chipmunk stunt plane. I suspect that Mr. Scholl performed the stunts for the show. Since the show was on ABC, it seems that he may have done some contract work for them as the plane also appeared in an episode of the Six Million Dollar Man at about the same time.

The premise was a bit weak, but I believe in time it could have shaped up. It seems that ABC did a number of pilots in this fashion hoping for audience approval, I guess. Charlie's Angels was one of the few that sold, as did Starsky and Hutch.

I gave it an 8 because it had one of the best stunt planes ever built and did demonstrate some good stunts.

I remember this one fondly. I was 14 at the time and had thoughts of being a cop. This was also the time that "The Six Million Dollar Man" was on ABC as well. (SMDM was one of my favorites.)The premise was that an android cop could be more affective on the street if he could learn to be compassionate. This is where Ernest Borgnine's character came in. Using slang of the time (Head Honcho), he slowly taught Haven the human aspects of being a cop. Unfortunately, this series aired while I was at my Boy Scout meeting and I was unable to see many episodes.

The best scene for me was when Haven had been shot several times while trying to save his partner. Like the Energizer Bunny running down, he slowly goes down as the bad guy empties his weapon into Haven's chest. Borgnine, amazed beyond belief, rushes to his partner's side in an attempt to comfort him only to discover his secret. The scenes that follow further cement the relationship between Borgnine and Haven.

For the 70's SciFi buff, this series is a memorable one.

I love this cartoon. I was 7 when it was on. I never missed it! Watching it again, I notice how precise the details on the planes were (even the D/G says "Cessna"). That is a REAL 1969 Cessna 310P! I have several hundred hours in P models.

I also liked the flying advise at the end of each episode. Being a flight instructor also, it is accurate if somewhat abbreviated for young minds.

I wish someone did a complete series set of DVD's for this cartoon.

Thsi cartoon fed my flying addiction as a young lad. My dad was in the Army Air Corps (just like Cap Wilson) although as a mechanic.

Dad was able to fly with me several times before he passed. Dad always loved flying with me and watching me fly.

I can remember this like it was yesterday. Sitting at home, watching Funshine Saturday, waiting for the Six Million Dollar Man to come on. I was 12 years old. I was still addicted to cartoons and never missed a preview. I was especially interested in this one because my hero, Steve Austin was going to host it. The actor, Lee Majors, wasn't bad either. I thought he made a step up from Westerns, which I despised.

I gave this show a 7. Call it a childhood memory of simpler times. Still, I wish there were more cartoons on Saturday like the one I grew up with. Maybe kids would be calmer; less apt to take guns to school. Maybe they would try dynamite like Wile E. Coyote? Nah!

For a typical 1970's soap-opera-style mini-series, it had everything it needed: sex, scandal, numerous affairs, and oh yeah, we needed a hook to get you to watch. Why not Pearl Harbor! The action sequences taken from "Tora, Tora, Tora" were done well. You can keep all the rest of the phony-baloney gossip-scandal type stuff. Good shots of Angie Dickinson's chest. Leslie Ann Warren is by far the best looking. Robert Wagner is a cad. He does the doctor and the colonel's wife. Imagine Adam Arkin's face when he finds out his gay lover has gone straight. Gays! In 1941! Weren't they still in the closet!

If you like the attack on Pearl Harbor, this is okay if you can get through the first few hours. otherwise stick with "Tora, Tora, Tora" and "Pearl Harbor". Even Affleck's movie is more believable!

Oh yeah,, in the end the Japs did it!
