This movie is slow moving and exceptionally dark. Highly predictable plot line-nothing new here. You can predict the storyline after the first 10 minutes. They had a solid cast but they are wasted on a bad script. It's sort of a "Dead Poet's Society" meets "The Bucket List." I thought this movie was depressing and a waste of money. If you are into watching movies about dysfunctional families you might like it, but it's just not a good movie. At least it's got some long shots that are the beautiful New Zealand countryside. How many more movies do we need about dying people who treat people badly?

The premise of this movie was good but fell flat. The plot is slow and highly predictable. Jokes are not funny at all. I wouldn't waste time on this one. Coarse humor that was unnecessary.

I liked this movie but you have to know something about "Pilgrim's Progress" to fully appreciate the film. Yes, it's low-budget but if you are looking for a movie that your kids can watch that doesn't drop the f-bomb, this is an okay choice. The scenery is beautiful and costuming is pretty darn good for a low budget film. There were some direct references to Bunyan's tale which I liked. Some of the lines were not as strong as they could be, but some of the scenes were very powerful and worthy of some family conversations after the viewing. If you are expecting LOTR, don't. The stories aren't the same.

Boring film. That's being nice. Very random presentation of Tesla's life. Had potential but not enough money was poured into the film, sets are sad and flimsy. Acting is soooo poor. Characters were dull and lifeless. No mention of Mark Twain and his friendship. Not sure what they were attempting to accomplish with this film. Ethan Hawke deserves better scripts.
