Grey's Anatomy: Song Beneath the Song
(2011)
Episode 18, Season 7

How to destroy what should have been an amazing episode
Just watching greys again and had totally forgotten about this car crash (no pun intended) of an episode. Its SO SO BAD. Wth? I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now. Callie shaking the bed she's lying on and headbanging 😂😂 come on lmao. This should have been an AMAZING episode. Callie, the baby, and what do they do? Turn it into the worst episode that Greys have ever put out. It makes my ears bleed and is just so cringeworthy from start to finish. Having Meredith singing to Derek? What? Bailey singing? What? Who thought this was a good idea? Who okayed it? Hilariously bad doesn't come close lol.

Office Space
(1999)

OK, but a bit of a let down
This was one of the movies that passed me by at the time of release. With the score on here, my hopes were high, but alas, they were dashed. I get the story. I get that it a lot of people can relate to it. I just didn't find it very funny. There were a handful of laugh out loud moments, but that was it for me. Maybe I missed the boat on it. Maybe it didn't age well, as I get that it's 24 years old now. There are other comedies that are older, that I still find hilarious though, so I'm not sure. I have to say, Gary Cole steals the show. He's an extremely underrated actor, who I first met in American Gothic in the 90s (if you haven't seen it, go watch it). Other than the last scene, I wondered why Milton was even in it, because I just found him annoying and very unfunny. All in all, its an OK movie, but think it scores much higher than it deserves.

Meg 2: The Trench
(2023)

Come on! What's not to love about giant sharks! Lols?
I don't know what a lot of people expect from movies these days. An action movie is an action movie, all with different actors and plots but they won't be very different from each other in general. Same goes for other genres. I'm so fed up of reading convoluted rubbish from people who think they're film critics. In fact, I'm sick reading the same crap from critics too lol. Both Meg movies are pretty cool. Huge sharks, a giant octopus, jet skis and bombs? What's not to like? Acting was good, SFX are good, plot was dead on, and I never got bored. It's a popcorn movie. Switch off, chill out and enjoy it.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
(2023)

Much better than expected
I'm not sure what movie those who gave this such low ratings watched, but I don't think it was what I watched. I went in with low expectations, because they haven't been great, but was very pleasantly surprised. It was pretty cool seeing Optimus as he originally was, and it was nice to not have to watch him getting his as* kicked repeatedly lol. Mirage and Anthony Ramos were the stars of the show for me. With Pete Davidson voicing him, his personality couldn't have been any different! The story was pretty good, and the maximals were awesome. I don't know what people want or expect from movies these days. Watch it, switch off and enjoy.

Wellmania
(2023)

Great tv
Very pleasantly surprised by this. Went in with absolutely no idea what it was about and can honestly say, before the end of the first episode, I knew I was going to enjoy it. Livs character is so complex. She's a mess, a party girl. Drugs and booze galore. Her mum is worried about her, so when she comes home to Australia for a friend's birthday, she hides her green card to stop her going back to New York. When she tries to get a new one, she fails the medical because her lifestyle has caught up with her, so Liv makes it her mission to get healthy. Her brother, Mum and friend are all great characters, it's just such a well made programme with people you end up caring about. Great stuff!

John Wick: Chapter 4
(2023)

One of the best action flicks ever!
Wow. What can I say! I'd been looking forward to this since the last one came out and I wasn't disappointed. Flat out action from start to finish. The acting from everyone is phenomenal and Donnie Yen is on another level for me. Bill Skarsgård is also a fantastic actor and his turn as Marchese de Gran just shows yet again how much talent he has. I remember the first John Wick coming out and at the time, we knew nothing about it. By the end, we were blown away. I got the same feeling all over again last night. The fight scene choreography is very real and done very well. As always, Ian McShane puts in a stellar performance and the way he says 'Jonathan', just takes me to the fair lol. A movie that I'll happily watch in the cinema again and enjoy every minute of.

Benidorm
(2007)

Hilarious
I started watching Benidorm when it first aired on ITV, but faded out around season 4 or so. I've no idea why, because I've came back to it on Netflix and honestly, I'd forgotten how brilliant it is! The Garveys are brilliant, absolutely love Steve Pemberton. Mateo, Kenneth, Liam, Lesley/Les and Joyce are a fantastic bunch of characters. Kenneth has had me in stitches so many times 😂 They're the biggest bunch of stereotypical characters you'll ever see on a TV show, but it works! The recurring character of Martin is one of my favourites throughout the series. Kind of posh, but down to earth and keeps ending back at the Solana. Just a cracking TV show if you want easy watching and a good laugh.

The Devil's Hour
(2022)

Mind bending TV
Fantastic TV show. I honestly thought my brain was going to melt at some points lol but it was all worth it in the end. Peter Capaldi really is an amazing actor and very underrated. The casting in general was very good and the actors all worked well together. I genuinely cared about them. Mike was a complete POS, I absolutely hated him, so good job done by Phil Dunster lol. The whole show was just something very different, a bit reminiscent of Life on Mars, which is one of my favourite and IMO, one of the best TV programmes ever made. So many different interwoven storylines but told in a way that made sense. Really good TV!

Halloween Ends
(2022)

Devastatingly awful!
I'm still in shock at how awful this was as the climax for this Halloween trilogy. I thought the first 2 were really good, (not including the "evil dies tonight" chanting. CRINGE!!! Lol). I'd been looking forward to this since the release of the 2nd one and boy, it was like being hit with a freight train full of disappointment. Random guy who killed the kid he was babysitting by accident gets bullied by high school idiots. Gets roughed up and chucked over a bridge. Michael, at the end of the Halloween Kills, gets up and murders all those who beat and stabbed him etc, then murders Laurie's daughter. Somehow, he is now old and decrepit and has supposedly spent the last 4 years hiding in a sewer/storm drain. Anyways, the drain just happens to be under the bridge Corey is chucked off. Michael drags him into the pipe but doesn't kill him. Like, what? Corey wakes, Michael grabs him and they see into each other minds and pow, a murdering tag team is born. Really? All the while, Corey is falling in love with Laurie's granddaughter Allyson, who is every bit as annoying as her mum was. Laurie tries to warn her off Corey, because somehow she can "see the evil in him". One minute Michael is grabbing nurses and pinning them to the wall with knives and the next he's weak again. Michael and Laurie are hardly in the movie. Spend over an hour on developing Corey's character, only for Michael to snap his neck like a twig. I could go on, but whats the point? A steaming pile of garbage inside a dumpster fire. If you have insomnia, this will cure it.

New Amsterdam: As Long as It Takes
(2018)
Episode 9, Season 1

Why can't TV shows stay out of politics?
I've just recently started watching this programme and I'm very impressed with it. Not so much with this episode. The whole trans kid thing winds me right up if I'm honest. When the trans kids parents state that he isn't old enough to drive or watch an R rated movie but the doc thinks it's OK for him to start moving forward with having their breasts removed, is absolutely insane. I agree with the parents 100%. Look how many young adults are now realising they weren't trans and have had life altering surgery and will never be the same. I think it's wrong on so many levels. The rest of the episode with Maxs sisters heart etc was pretty good tho.

Uncoupled
(2022)

Its fun. Just switch your mind off and enjoy!
I binged it and found it entertaining and funny. We know it's not a real depiction of gay men. SATC wasn't a real depiction of women either. Its a TV show. Wish people would stop getting so worked up.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

Best film I've seen in a long time!
Just recently watched the original Topgun, so it was fresh in my kind for this coming out and honestly, Maverick is 10 x the movie the original was. The F-18 scenes are absolutely fantastic and the lack of special effects are a welcome change from the movies of late. It was also brilliant and heartbreaking at the same time to see Val Kilmer back in action, and very clever how the story mirrored his own life. Bruckheimer actually said Cruise refused to do the movie unless Kilmer was in it. There are very few movies I would watch twice in the cinema, but this is one I definitely would!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
(2022)

Cannot explain my disappointment
I could have actually cried watching this. Dr. Strange is one of my favourite Marvel movies but this was just plain awful. 1 hour in and I was debating leaving. Marvel are losing their touch, and ever since Endgame, it just hasn't felt the same, apart from NWH. Sam Raimi messed up big time.

Morbius
(2022)

Don't know what the problem is!
Was very hesitant to go and see this because of its score on here, and a lot of the reviews. Ended up being really glad I didn't pay any attention. I thought Morbius and Milo/Lucian looked amazing as vampires. Good story and just thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife
(2021)

Great sequel
Grew up loving the original 80s ghostbusters amd this didn't fail to entertain me. Paul Rudd was great and brought some comedy to the movie and Mckenna Grace is a great actress who will go far. Was a little disappointed that Slimer didn't make an appearance but a blue relative of his did lol. The ending had me in tears. Thoroughly enjoyed.

And Just Like That...
(2021)

Don't understand the hate
The hate the show is getting isn't fair IMO. Also, the things men are saying about how the women look are actually making me sick. I'm not getting the woke comments either. Yes, there are storylines regarding gender but so what? Also, to the guy saying they should be looking for nursing homes, the 1950s called, they're missing you. My mum is 64, works full time and is fitter than most people my age. Anyways, it's not real, it's a TV show, it's entertainment. Take it for what it is and enjoy.

The Resident
(2018)

Great medical drama
Love it! Story isn't episode by episode, there are great story arcs through each season, dirty dealings, mental health problems, relationships and loads more. Dr. Bell and Dr. Praveshs' character development has been fab too. Really enjoyable well made TV.

The Resident: The Long and Winding Road
(2021)
Episode 3, Season 5

Beautiful
Still can't believe Nic is gone but it was done so well. Really sad to see her go but she has a young family and they come first. I was fine until the walk to the OR to harvest her organs, then the floodgates opened! Great episode.

The Big Bang Theory
(2007)

Not funny in any way
I remember when this first aired, I didn't really mind it but my husband enjoyed it so I watched it too. After the first few seasons, he began to feel like it was making fun of people who enjoy comics/star wars etc rather than being about them. My husband is a self confessed geek but nothing like anyone on this show. Being smart and a geek does not make you socially awkward or "odd". The jokes just got worse and worse and if you look up the show without the laugh track, it's just so hard to watch. It's hard to tell what's supposed to be funny and what's not. Awful writing and awful show.

Lucifer: Partners 'Til the End
(2021)
Episode 10, Season 6

Best ending ever!
I had a lump in throat almost the whole episode! Not much to say, it was just perfect 👌 😍

Phoenix Nights
(2001)

Still hilarious 20 years on.
Just started watching this again and it hasn't aged at all. It's still brilliant which I'm pleasantly surprised by because a lot of comedy hasn't. Just great!

Body of Proof
(2011)

Still great in 2021.
Absolutely loved this show when it first aired and I've never watched it again until it appeared on Star on Disney Plus. Dana Delany is a fab actress and very underrated anyway, but in this show, I think she shines! It started off a little weak but but got souvj better pretty fast. Definitely worth the watch.

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
(2021)

Decent 2nd installment
Made me laugh, had plenty of action and as always, Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds were great. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Now You See Me
(2013)

Brilliant
Love this movie. Watch, have fun and don't take it seriously. Not sure why people expect so much from movies these days.
