Suraag: The Clue
(1999)

BRILLIANT crime series from the 90s!
Suraag : The clue was a brilliantly made and superbly acted crime series. None of the recent web series on indian channels come close to it.

The plots were good and engaging and the lead actor did his role to perfection. 90s was the golden age of indian serials. Inspector Bharat was the name which was on the lips of every household and we use to sit and watch on our CRT televisions back then.

How easily Inspector Bharat use to solve the mysteries was a treat to watch.

If this series can be aired again, it should be. There was no VFX, pure story and pure acting.

Best from the 90s and best in indian serials.

Hostel Daze
(2019)

4th season Kills it.
All the hostel days seasons were good as they took me back to my college engineering days.

But the final season is the best which takes us through the turmoil and anxiety we went though during the placement season.

Nothing beats that feeling to relate and the feeling to get placed for the first time. Late night resume creations and talking to folks who got placed and then sitting there in the room and sharing your experience with folks cos you got selected.

Definitely worth a watch for folks who had an average hostel life cos average are the characters who provide you the fun you had in college and average is BRILLIANT!

Adipurush
(2023)

Not even a Ramayan for kids.
If I have to say overall this movie is a big let down. The huge budget does not do any justice to the way the movie has been made and the dialogues written. Even to some extent the looks of the character look pathetic, especially Raghav or Shri Ram. Prabhas's makeup is bad to be honest. Arun Govil looked so much better in Ram's role. Huge amount of VFX has been used which looks like a cartoon movie. Nothing looks real. Lanka is more like Mordor (but does not even come close to the VFX of LOTR). Ravan's ride is straight copied from GOT but the dragon looks like a toy. The dialogues are ok (if not great) in the first half but they become poor in the second half totally. The final battle had to be epic but it turns out as bad as Raghav's look.

Watch it if you want to see to what extent an Epic can be butchered.

Oppenheimer
(2023)

Brilliant dialogues. Keeps Engaged most of the times!
Don't watch this movie if you want to see how the first Atom bomb was made or the WWII ended.

Watch it if you love brilliant dialogues. The dialogues are master piece and so is the switch from current time frame to the past and back.

The characters have played their roles brilliantly. Murphy and Robert have done justice to their characters, so has Matt.

The movie is long, 180 plus minutes and that is where it captures the details and the essence of the court room drama. Doesn't stay in one time frame for so long that you get bored and swaps to past frame to make it relevant and a bit confusing at the same time (don't get me wrong with confusing word as it might get tricky if you don't follow the dialogues).

This is not Interstellar, so don't go expecting to see space crafts and bombs and fights. The fight is in the courtroom for everyone to see.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect
(2022)

Inspirational and Heart-breaking!
Have to admit that got to know about Sir Nambi only after this movie came out in public. Such an inspirational, adventurous and heart-breaking journey. Madhavan has done justice to the role and the movie had been sincerely. Felt glued to each and every scene. Scientists do so much for our country and the ones who dedicate their whole life for their country only while keeping their friend families emotions aside is such a sacrifice. And then there are people who try to bring them down. Some insiders, some outsiders. And that not just affects the scientist, his family but also brings the nation down or takes it backwards.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

Perfectly done sequel.
I don't have much idea into fighter jet detailing and all and the ranks but I saw top gun and I loved it. And then I saw maverick and must admit that the sequel was brilliantly done. Tom looks as good and reckless as a trainer. And Jennifer looks ravishing. The other cast is good too. I don't have any complaints or any critical feedback for this movie. Watch it!

The Batman
(2022)

RP has done a good job!
RP has done a very good job in the role of Batman. The story is more realistic where Batman is focused on eliminating bad with bad. There is nothing like make them good. Vengeance is the term!

Riddler has done a great work as well as the villain.

The cast is new but it's good. We will always remember CB and his Alfred. But this RP and his team are not bad either.

Refreshing if a bit long at times. But really engrossing and connected.

Moonfall
(2022)

BELOW AVERAGE! RIDICULOUS!
I don't know how this movie has 5+ on IMDb. I understand sci-fi. I also understand that moon can be hollow and is actually a mega structure. But the scenes, sequence of the movies don't make sense at all. They carry out a spaceship out of museum within no time and its all set to fly. Then they launch on 2 engines. Plus everyone evacuates and still they are able to launch with almost zero personnel on ground. Big trains and ships are flying due to moon's gravity but 2 running human beings are able to run completely. Utter nonsense. The only things which were ok was the special effects to an extent. They actually have a scene where the moon is brushing aside earth. I can't even imagine what would happen to civilization if that happens and here nothing happens. Just fee buildings fall and few die and then everything gets normal within hours or minutes.

Rocket Boys
(2022)

Loved it. Brilliant. Rocket boys!
Sony LIV has come with a brilliant series again. ROCKET BOYS- this is such a good dedication to our scientists Bhabha, Sarabhai and Kalam who put india in line of nuclear energy and space research.

Acting is brilliant from the reel characters as well as the supporting cast. Look and feel wise the series looks brilliant. The first nuclear reactor and first rocket launch which many of us we indian wouldn't have witnessed will get goosebumps for sure. A real sense of pride of what these people did in their lives. This should be watched guys. Indians go for it cos this matters to us :-)

A Thursday
(2022)

Worth watching for its message!
Rape has been an issue in our country for which the law is still not very clear. Criminals keep playing with the law. And our judiciary keeps adding clauses and then the human rights activists. Yami Gautam has done a brilliant portrayal here. Her acting is superb. No nonsense plot and fast paced to a good extent. The best part has to be the last interview with the PM. It shakes you down to the core. Wortha watch. And more over, something for our law and order to take care of.

Atrangi Re
(2021)

Show cases many social issues. Best acting till date by Sara.
This movie is cute. This movie also shows a lot of issues in our society. Shows the forced marriage issues in Bihar. Shows inter-religion marriage issues. Shows mental health issues due to trauma during childhood. Shows the discrimination between different languages in India.

Leave those and it has to be the best acting done by Sara till date. Dhanush is as always good. Akshay has played his limited part well enough.

Sooryavanshi
(2021)

Only the title is good, not the movie!
If you want to make a patriotic movie then make one. Don't mix it with romance for the sake of entertainment and getting more audience. The storyline is goofed up. Sleeper cells and mumbai - that's it. Too many goof up with police so that criminal keeps escaping. And in the end of that was not enough, the main hero Akshay Kumar is cut totally out of the scene and Ajay devgan takes center stage. I mean wth. Katrina Kaif is useless as ever with her role and acting. Only person doing justice to his tole is Ranveer Singh who comes in for 10-20 mins and does his comedy lines well. The movie is repeated old blowing up of vehicles. Disappointing.

Sardar Udham
(2021)

Very detailed and Impactful!
We all knew about Jalianwala Bagh hathyakand. But we hardly know anything that happened behind the scenes. Udham Singh is a brilliant made movie. Vicky kaushal has done his best acting. From body language to accent and filming, this film is detailed and keeps you glued. Masterpiece from Sircar. Must watch!

Thalaivi
(2021)

Overacting shop. Left midway!
The movie doesn't create any impact while watching and that's why had to leave it halfway. Kangana is a good actress but all she has done in this role is give some gyan and overact. The other thing which her character portrays is that she is just using others for her benefits. I don't think that's how Jayalalithaa was. She was a strong figure. Kangana definitely doesn't fit in her shoes.

Shiddat
(2021)

Started good but then became illogical - cute and tragic.
The first 40 minutes of the movie is real fun till the time Kartika's parents come to India. Sunny kaushal is great at his acting. Very spontaneous and full of energy. Radhika madan is cute and she has done her part very well as well. But after that though the acting remains good, the plot goes illogical with Sunny trying ti cross the English channel in sub zero temperature and then flies hiding inside the plane wheel and then ultimately falling to his death while landing. The end is tragic but this didn't need complications and all this nonsense. The songs are good. Especially Shiddat and Barbadiyan. Diana penty still can't act.

The Protégé
(2021)

Why was this movie even made.
The movie has basically zero plot. The fight scenes seem fake. Just a drag and nothing else. Maggie Q is not even a shade of what she was in mission impossible. The movie tries to show that assassins are better than other killers cos they do it for better purposes. Are you serious? Not worth a watch. Not a single moment where you feel like getting hooked to this.

Toofaan
(2021)

DO WATCH. Low ratings are fake and sign of hatred.
Farhan Akhtar comes second best here after Bhag Milkha bhag. Combines the story of a street gangster and inter religion marriage very nicely. Don't go by the negative reviews. Farhan has put a lot of effort in this movie to look like a boxer, play like them.

Hungama 2
(2021)

Couldn't watch it even for 10 mins.
Had high hopes of fun and laughter from this. But 10 minutes into the movie, it felt like getting dragged. Left it there.

Mimi
(2021)

Best acting of Kriti.
Kriti has portrayed the role of an unmarried mother nicely. Her dialogues come clean and feel authentic. The movie has its share of funny and emotional scenes. Pankaj Tripathi as usual has done his role perfectly. Good fun and message.

Shershaah
(2021)

Not brilliant. But definitely worth watching!
The movie plot is good. Covers the life of Captain Batra nicely. There is obviously that creative touch given to make it more exciting for a movie so some scenes veer off from reality but that's okay. War scenes don't look fake. Siddharth has done justice with the role. Good to see Kiara as a proper punjabi speaking girl. Though her role is limited, she has done it nicely.

Maharani
(2021)

Glorify Rabri and keep everything else as it is?
Acting wise and cinematography wise this is a good series. The characters do feel like from Bihar. Their tone, their language, the violence and caste based politics everything resembles Bihar. Then comes Mr Lalu who is showed as part of Fodder scam but then Rabri is shown as the one CM who is actually fighting corruption and even testifies against her husband. Well good for a fictional series but then on many grounds this series matches with the reality and saying this is not the case will be a plain lie.

Watch it cos the acting is good. But don't get fooled by it as people of Bihar all but know the truth!

Panchayat
(2020)

Fulera will make you smile and laugh! Perfect entertainment.
This series is a burst of smile, laughter and good feeling. You will fall in love with every character. You will fall in love with gram panchayat.

It's a fun filled, light hearted, must watch show!

AK vs AK
(2020)

AKs have killed this!
It's a brilliantly acted upon movie. The movie is fast paced. Shot with a hand held camera always. Everything looks coming out straight as real. Both Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor have made a real gem for sure.

Lootcase
(2020)

Watch it. It's entertaining!
Just sit and watch it. It's a real fun story. What else I need to say for a funny and entertaining plot. A total time pass and laughter filled.

Ludo
(2020)

Entertaining and Good!
This movie is an entertainer. The acting is good from the cast. The songs are good as well and a couple of them will keep you in humming zone. A different take for sure as it takes on the concept of what has to happen wil happen. Nothing is really in our hand. A total base of karma.
