I don't need to add much more than what has already been said so I'll instead sum up the pros and cons of this movie.
Pros:
- Best villain to date: Thanos is greatly developed and you wanna see more of him
- Best action to date: the fights are all fantastically choreographed and epic
- Awesome drama and twists: You feel for both the villain and heroes, they have been so well developed and created that each one going through a phase here feels compelling... and it takes balls to go as far as this movie has. BvS, get lost!
- Great story: the story itself may be simple (super villain wants MacGuffin to rule/destroy/semi-save the universe) but it's the good ol' formula done at its best!
- Epic music: as usual the music for an Avengers movie is amazing. Alan Silvestri did a fantastic job on the whole thing.
- Great build-up: the build-up for the next movie(s) is something the MCU has perfected like no other and this one is no exception.
Cons:
- Main villain motivation: more of a small con than a big one but still one worth noting; the original motive for Thanos to collect the Infinity Stones/Gems was changed in this iteration for a more... peaceful reason. As sympathetic as this makes Thanos, one has to question the reason for this monumental change.
- Underuse of some characters: with a cast so huge that it makes any contender afraid to even consider trying it it's only natural that some characters will have more screentime than others. As such, some characters should really have been given a bit more than others. Of course the runtime would likely have been too long if that was taken into account.
And that's my review of what is easily the greatest MCU movie, the greatest comic book movie and the greatest movie of 2018.
Congratulations Marvel/Disney, you have once again shown why you are the juggernaut that you are!
DC wishes it was you lol :p
