San ti
(2023)

A must watch before & after undergraduation
I already read the book in 2021 but won't say I was disappointed. It aptly painted the words from the book & my imagination of the story. Some of my favorite scenes: 1. Van Neumann's Computer Development - great depiction of computer's binary foundation 2. Wang's wholesome but highly informative scenes with his daughter especially the brain reader's one where the daughter fooled his scientist father 3. Ye Wenjie's research process for finding the amplifier properties of the Sun

What I didn't appreciate:
  • One of the end scenes is missing book's one of the best lines - "Let's get back. There is so much to do."

Overall, I enjoyed the original music. Hope you did or do too!

Life's punchline doesn't just knock you out!
Initially, it started like a Japanese version of Seinfeld where 3 struggling comedians are going to talk about "nothing".

Gradually, it starts developing into an overwhelming & motivating journey of 3 comedians & 2 sisters in their late 20s trying to figure out the true meaning of their past failures. It's a wonderful depiction of how a group of people can help each other find out the best version of themselves. I couldn't find any skit in "The Skit begins" funny at all however everything outside the skits was definitely funnier if not the "The Lip Reader" kind of funny. Maybe that was the punchline!

It is definitely one of the most mature content I have personally come across from Japan & would love to stumble more upon similar hidden-gems of Japanese television.
