A Global Affair
(1964)

An Under Rated Movie That DOESN'T Take Itself Seriously!
Hope is wonderful in this movie. Yes I agree the plot is unrealistic but that is the beauty of this film. It is played for laughs and does not take itself seriously in any way. The movie is entertaining and fun. This movie shows Bob Hope gagging it up and having fun with a script that could have been better but still manages to make us laugh and entertains us. It is wonderful to see what NYC was like in 1964 when I was 7 years old! I do agree that one major flaw was the fact that no one would allow a baby to be handled in such a matter without contacting the authorities. The movie is predictable and that is part of its charm.

About Mrs. Leslie
(1954)

A Movie Ahead Of Its Time For Those Who Have Loved Deeply
****May contain spoilers**** Shirley Booth radiates in this movie. This movie ranks as one of my top five favorites. If you love a TRUE soap opera tear-jerker then this qualifies as a 5 tissue box movie so have them ready!! The love story is touching, heartwarming, and if you love romance movies it will touch your heart right to the core. People say that Robert Ryan is miscast as the love interest but they could not be more wrong! He is a kind, shy, gentle man who finds the love of his life in Shirley Booth. Shirley Booth gives up jobs and suffers to be near her "Mr Leslie, Honey" six weeks out of each year. The movie is done entirely in flashback showing how they meet and how their relationship grows and blossoms into love over the years. Shirley Booth uses these memories to sustain her life over the years remembering the love they both shared. For anyone who cherishes romance and the joys of love THIS IS A LOVE STORY FOR THE AGES! HOW I WISH THIS MOVIE WERE ON DVD!!!! You can't even find it on video. I had to settle for a bootleg copy. If it is ever released I'll be FIRST in line to BUY IT!!!! If you get a chance find a way to WATCH THIS MOVIE. It is one to love and ENJOY!!

A Brand New Life
(1973)

A First Rate Feel Good Movie That Makes Your Heart Soar!!!
This movie of the week is a movie I never expected to see on DVD. I am SO HAPPY that it has finally been released. You feel as though you are living through the characters eyes and feel what they feel. It feels very real when you see the struggle of this middle aged couple trying to decide if they want a child after so many years of marriage. Very heart felt and sincere movie. Very fast paced movie and it tugs at your heart. WONDERFUL!!! I would shout it from the roof tops for everyone to get this wonderful movie! I can only hope that other movies of the week will find themselves on DVD shorty just like THIS GEM OF A FILM! Unforgettable and worth getting.

The Blue Veil
(1951)

A First Rate Tear-Jerker
If you LOVE a tear-jerker then have the tissues ready. This one will have you bawling. It tugs at the heart strings and doesn't let go. If you love movies that involve high emotional soap opera drama then this movie is for you. The ending wraps everything up into a beautiful neat package and I love this movie. I wish it were out on DVD. Jane Wyman give a very convincing performance. The children will break your heart. This kind of soap opera is no longer made and is definitely a chick flick. I never tire of watching this film and certainly recommend it to all of you. If any of you have ever watched "About Mrs. Leslie" with Shirley Booth and loved it then you'll probably love this one too.
