Atypical
(2017)

Love it love it love it
What a great story. What great characters and fine acting. Sam is amazing. You feel like you want to know him and give him a strong hug the way he likes it. Casey is just fantastic! The parents are so human, authentic and moving. Zahid is a riot... so funny... Paige, Evan, Julia... and everybody else. So human and funny.. I just started Season 3 and am already sad that soon I will finish it and won't get to spend time with these great people. Give us more!!!!!

Fleuve noir
(2018)

Good slow and dark mystery
As a psychological mystery I think that it was a good movie. The acting is excellent especially that of Romain Duris whom I know from totally different roles. The only think that turned me off (done on purpose I guess but still...) was the greasy hair of the "commandant". It is gross to watch and not even realistic because even if he does not wash his hair everyday, he does wash it once in a while. I guess this was done to reflect his depressive state but still for me it was difficult to watch. Definitely recommend the movie to anyone who is in the mood for a slow, dark and good mystery.

A Place to Call Home

Genius

Entertaining, enjoyable ... till change of actor
This is one of the rare series which I watch with my husband. I have no understanding of science, my husband does. We both enjoy the show, although of course, it is obvious that it could have been much better. The opening scene is a disgrace and not necessary at all. I think the series gives you a lively glimpse of history. What a curse it is to have been born at a time when you had to go through the 2 world wars. What really annoyed us terribly - and I see from the other reviews that other people felt the same way - is the totally illogical change of actors in the middle of the series. We got used to Johnny Flynn playing Einstein (we did not know him beforehand). We enjoyed his acting. He grew on us with each episode. Suddenly at the Armistice when Einstein is supposed to be 39, here comes Geoffrey Rush who is 66!! We were so shocked, we could barely continue to watch. The movie industry does not know how to make an young actor age?! No, really this is totally ridiculous. In addition, most of the other characters except for Elsa and Mileva (no similarity whatsoever with young Mileva who was such an excellent actor) remain the same! What poor judgment!

Bloodline
(2015)

Fantastic series
I loved this series from the start and was so happy to see the 3rd season appears on my TV program. The 3rd season is just superb. In movies based on books you often feel that you need to read the book to go deeper into the characters' thoughts. Here, the acting is so superb that I feel as if I am reading a classic masterpiece which takes me deep into the characters' psyche. When I watched the third season I was glued to my screen and thank the creators, writers and actors of this series for providing me with such an experience.

Santa Clarita Diet
(2017)

You should be warned before watching
I had no idea what I was in for and since I have always enjoyed seeing movies with Drew Barrymore I started watching the first episode on Netflix. I do not want to give a spoiler, and I understand that this can be seen as black humor but I do feel that people who do not consider super-duper- gore entertaining should be warned that is not for them. For me the end of the episode was so gross it was totally traumatic and I wish I had never seen it. I guess nowadays anything goes.

Jupiter Ascending
(2015)

I finally understood what are two-dimensional characters
I do not see a movie without reading what the users of IMDb have to say about it. I am so thankful to the site for making me discover gems and helping me save two precious hours of my life by not seeing idiotic movies. I decided that the time has come for me to join IMDb users and become useful to my fellow movie lovers as well. I saw Jupiter Ascending yesterday with my 11 year old son. I do love a good science fiction movie, but boy was I bored with this one. Flat and cliché characters. Empty dialogs. A waste of good actors. It takes you a while to understand what is it all about but once you understand you are still bored.. The action and effects are similar to those of a children action animated TV series. My son did enjoy the movie, although even for him on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the Lord of the Ring/Hobbit trilogies or Indiana Jones) this rated low......
