Bay of Fires
(2023)

Got better as it went on
We were a bit dubious to start with, as we couldn't quite work out where it was going. However, stuck with this due to stellar casting and to be honest, it just got better and better as the storyline and characters developed. And what a bunch of characters! No-one was quite who they seemed and kept you guessing most of the way through, loved the female assassins! Great backdrop with Tasmanian stunning scenery as well. Wonderfully black comedy with several laugh out loud moments. Loved the twists and turns as it never quite went where you thought it would go. Definitely looking forward to second season.

Got better and better
I was very dubious about series three and how they'd make it work post lockdown. I needn't have worried! From the start, you are taken down a roller coaster of fast paced humour with banter between the two leads heading in various directions. Have loved the development of all the characters over time. I watched open mouthed as I got to grips with twists and turns of the story, the pure humour and angst of what was reality and what wasn't. I have to admit I love not knowing who will pop up in the screen at any given time. Very, very clever writing and brilliant performances. The final episode was pure genius. Thank you!

Fantastic Find!
Wow! High score for high calibre drama. Gripping from start to finish with no dip in quality. Cannot recommend highly enough! Yes, you have to concentrate but it makes a refreshing change from spoon fed dramas.

The Dry
(2020)

Gripping film
Loved the book and the film lived up to it. Perfectly cast and the director cleverly dealt with flashback scenes. This will do very well internationally hopefully as very accessible to audiences. Thoroughly recommend.

The Furnace
(2020)

Australian Gold
Was blown away by this film, not only the gentle story telling of part of our national history but the relationships between all cultures. Love and humour knows no boundaries if allowed. Beautiful portrayals of all races and it was wonderful to hear language being spoken. Stunning photography showcases the outback whilst still instilling the harshness of the environment. Thoroughly recommend.
