Boxing Day
(2021)

Romantic comedy genre gets a fresh addition
This was good fun and felt good. It was a breath of fresh air in the romantic comedy genre. It's going on my Christmas watch list.

As far as love triangles and interfering families go, I loved them both.

The Girl Before
(2021)

Great acting, great cast but story wasn't thrilling.
The cast did a great job with what they were given but it just wasn't thrilling.

It feels like answer was the most obvious one but the show spent 3.5 episodes trying to convince you that it might not be.

Karen
(2021)

Strong performance from Taryn
Taryn did a great of job of portraying a character that a lot of people pretend not to know. That's going to upset a LOT of people but the film is worth watching for her performance alone, if nothing else.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
(2021)

EXCELLENT!
The action was great from the start and the show just kept getting better. BRAVO!

A Teacher
(2020)

Bland
I don't have a problem with the subject-matter but I heard that there's an English version of this. I might watch that. There just doesn't seem to be any drama/tension in this one.

Wonder Woman 1984
(2020)

Positively different
This was clearly directed and written by women but that wasn't a bad thing. It was different, but in lots of good ways. Yes, there was some creative licence and you can't complain about a superhero film being unrealistic. I did like the way that viewers were treated to a woman's view of events and that the film was absent a lot of the usual stereotypes. My expectations were at rock bottom after the last one but I was VERY pleasantly surprised.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
(2020)

It's a beautiful Christmas musical!
I'm not sure what the negative commentators are looking for. It's a heartwarming Christmas family film. Don't they all follow a similar pattern anyway? Put all that negativity out of your mind and enjoy it.

Ambitions
(2019)

Classic soap opera
If you grew up on the likes of Dynasty then this is really enjoyable. Robin is a pantomime villain, and I'm not sure whether that's by luck or design, but it doesn't take away from a compelling storyline and that long-lost soap opera feel. I really hope there's a nice long second season.

Sex, Lattes & Hideous Dates
(2019)

Lack of diversity put me right off.
This might be funny and quite well-written, but I wasn't inclined to explore beyond the opening credits. I would need a London-based comedy to have more diversity.
