If there is one film ..... ... that need to be deconstructed as a psycho-sexual drama, this is the one. Excellent sci-fi, a star of that era, but you really need to wonder, no analyze, exactly what was going on inside the head of the story's author. In my mind's eye, something very scary and strange, indeed! John Hoyt is the superior actor and he had a long and rewarding career. John Agar seems wasted here and June Kenney is horribly miscast. Of course, decades later, what difference does it make? From my humble perspective, the highlight of the film was the cat in the matchbox! A good assembly of cast for the puppet people. It's a fun film to watch if you can cast off the disturbing undertones.
