Jack Ryan
(2018)

Very good
I can not accept it is the last series Mr Clancy set the scene and much much more is possible.

The script writing was excellent, the .filming was faultless , the actors were all superb, The lead actor fits the books character Jack Ryan, very well, as do the whole Team.

It was good to see lead actors were women a goody and a baddie. I was reminded of Condoleezza Rice, Locations were well selected and served the story line well.

The editing must have been difficult as I am sure there must have been much that would have almost been enough for another film.

I thought it was one of the best series.

The Devil's Hour
(2022)

Wonderful
I loved it.

The writing was brilliant The plot was incredible a dark theme well directed All the acting was beyond great if was Supurb I found each episode seemed to fly by and the end of each one left you wanted more.

The young actor who played the prime character will go far The female lead made you believe in her desperation to help her son.

PETER CAPABLDI'S CHARACTER LOOKED LIKE AN EVIL MAN, almost to the end , just his facial expressions alone told a story.

I did not expect the ending

I hope there is a possibility of a follow-up series.

I can imagine new story lines following the other cases he was involved with.

Breach
(2020)

Unusual for me a negative review
I thought I would just relax and enjoy a sci-fy film.

I did watch to the end thinking it would become a comedy.

I have to report it did not.

It is by far the worst film I have ever seen in my 75 yrs.

There are no excuses maybe Mr Willis was ill but everything was atrocious but not funny

THERE is nothing which can be praised.

Sherwood
(2022)

Just excellent
It was a a real pleasure to watch this series.

The writing was, Supurb, some difficult subplots, but history is history. The truth is told The direction was more Scandinavian than US. Much more watchable.

Everyone of the actors were at the top of their game.

It made you think, those of us who are old enough to have lived through the miners strike, can relate to the story.

Thank you great drama.

Reacher
(2022)

For me this was closer to the books, I know the author does not like the character,
But the public do, it seems to me about basic justice, the underdog getting even. Like the girl with the dragon tattoo, we want them to succeed.

I can tell within a few pages of a new book if it hooks me, it is all about if I like / am interested in a character, Lee Childs created a character who is interesting.

Alan Richtson. Plays the part well, I think he will develop more into Reacher as we see more.

The Responder
(2022)

This has been the best drama for a while , up there for me as Line of Duty.
Martin Freeman is an actor I follow, he is wonderful, a character actor, he make you believe the person.

This series started slowly, as we get to know Chris, the whole cast were believable all played difficult parts but never let the theme down.

The writer hit all the emotions, all the sides of real people, the stress of the jobs, the lives of those pushed to the bottom, each episode pulls one in, each new episode anticipated, they have not failed once.

The will be no excuses , there must be a series 2 and on as long as the writer can take it.

I for one wants to know what happens to Casey. RACHEL and strangely Dr Gallagher a lovely baddie.

Vikings: The Viking Sagas
(2014)

Wonderful Series great writers, superb actors
Each Episode leaves you wanting more.

Ragnar is correct for his time and does evil things but the great actor makes you love him.

It has caused me to do research into the true history and that can't be a bad thing.

Without Remorse
(2021)

Not upto Clancy's standard
The book was excellent, emotional , thoughtful, detailed.

The film was OK, lightweight, just another shoot em up.

DISAPPOINTED I was expecting so much more.

The Nest
(2020)

I really enjoyed it.
I had recorded the series.

So when all the rubbish games shows and house diy and move to the sun/ country are on.

I choose to watch something which obviously cost more the the above.

And I found it worth it, the acting was excellent.

The writing flawless.

I did imagine an alternative ending, where they adopted the girl and the baby.

Bosch
(2014)

Love this series.
All the acting in this series is very good. I particularly like Lance Reddick in his role. The story lines are believable. I will look out for Michael Collins books. The filming is professional and smooth not erratic like some. Good use of locations, not over excessive. The main actor plays his part wonderfully fully believable, I enjoy the flashbacks into his past gives background to the character.
