Ouija: Origin of Evil
(2016)

They should have skipped that first Ouiji movie
And gone with this prequel. It's much better than the original. Give it a try if you haven't seen it yet. You might find you like it.

Dangerous Lies
(2020)

Just OK as a time filler during a pandemic.
For me, everything about it was just average to sub par, including the acting, script and directing. Not sure this will be beneficial on the resume of Camila Mendes and I think she's a good actor, so I hope in the future she gets better scripts. The wig on Cam Gigandet was distracting. Too many plot holes. As others have said, this was like an afternoon Lifetime movie. It might be an okay movie for a young crowd, but don't think older people are the target audience. For a young audience, I'd probably give it 5 stars out of 10. Get better scripts for Camilla Mendes please.

The Silence
(2019)

I watched this as a longtime fan of both Stanley Tucci and John Corbett
Unfortunately, Corbett was killed off early, and as great of an actor as Tucci is, even he couldn't save this movie. The script was lacking and any substance there might be is full of holes. Didn't feel any real on screen chemistry between any of the actors, but I tend to blame this on a lack of decent material. The ending did leave this open for a sequel, but I'd rather see a sequel of A Quiet Place...a much, much better quality film. That said, I didn't love The Silence or hate it. It killed appx 1.5 hours of time while sick and temporarily bedridden, so I'm grateful for that distraction. Watch it and decide for yourself. Nothing pleases everyone.

David
(1988)

Made in the late 80's as a tv movie, but worth watching
I remember watching it when it originally aired in tv. It packed a powerful punch then and, after re-watching it in 2019, it still packs a powerful punch due to the subject matter. Bernadette Peters was very convincing as the mother of David. I'm still sickened today by how relatively little time that Daddy Dearest had to serve considering how horrific the crime was against anyone, let alone the father's own young son.

The Masked Singer
(2019)

Good family fun
I didn't watch it to become smarter. I watched it for entertainment and it served its purpose. If you're looking for something intellectual, by all means, go ahead and skip it. If you're just looking for hour long episodes to relax and enjoy, give it a try. You just might like it.
