The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.10
(2022)
Episode 10, Season 5

GOT & Vikings should take notes from this Ending
Now this is what a finale must feel like for these kind of genres.

It all about acheiving your ultimate dream but it all depends on the cost that one must pay to fulfill that dream. Uthred faced a similar fate.

He is now a true Lord and Bebbanburg is now under his rule and only his. But look at the price he had to pay. He lost his lovely wife, his childhood friend, his estemmed warrior Leofric, Alfred whom he considered his King, his lover Aetheflaed who died in his arms, Father Beoca who was like a father figure to him. And adding to his mysery, his eldest son was castreted thus ending his fatherly bloodline.

If you consider the ending, you shall come to relealize that whenever you set your goals, you must consider the endless sacrifices and compromises that you will have to make. This show just portrayed this life lesson in the perfect way possible.

Adios Uthred. The true Lord of Bebbanburg.

James May: Our Man in...
(2020)

Everybody is a Travel Vlogger until the Real Vlogger Arrives!
Amazon have done an amazing job by filming a documentary on one of the most places countries on earth. The documentary contained all the best and weird parts of Japan along with breathtaking scenery. Ofcourse James May's crisp presentation makes it more watchable. I have watched alot of James May documentaries over the years and Our Man In Japan is the 2nd best on my list (cars of the people being the obvious winner). I wish Amazon makes this into an anthological series with May travelling to other beautiful countries. Surely this is a binge watching documentary. Fantastic job James May & Amazon. Cant wait to see what else you have in store (pun intended).

The Grand Tour: Up, Down and Round the Farm
(2018)
Episode 5, Season 2

Old Top gear mixed with GT flavor and sprinkled with some goofiness
This episode just bought back old top gear memories. Hamster's Dubai trip was absolutely phenomenal. VW UP review was the highlight of the show (imo) as Captain Slow reviewed that lil' hatchback very well and also gave us a bit insight on the history of VW Golf. I m starting to prefer James over the other two for reviewing cars on the Eboladrome. And then there was Conversation street which was filled with car news. The jokes and bits in that segment again bought memories of old TG's The News segment. Clarkson's dig at Ken Block and the new TG was absolutely hilarious. Half of the viewers just seemed to missed the point of that segment and so gave the episode a bad review. The only let down was the celebrity segment which was plain boring. I skipped that part right up to the point where they actually have a face off. All in all this was a fantastic episode and next week it will get more car-ry as the blokes will drive old jags across Colorado and compete in some old TG challenges.

Rick and Morty: Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender
(2017)
Episode 4, Season 3

And that is how you destroy world's mightiest heroes and Worldender.....The "drunk" Rick Snachez way!
What a fantastic episode. Some of us fans have been a little critical towards the introduction of female writers but this episode deserves a praise towards Sarah Carbiener & Erica Rosbe for their imaginative writing. This season is definitely getting better episode after episode. This episode had a everything. From Rick & Morty only adventure to a bunch of futile heroes (except for Supernova) to a drunk villainous Rick and finally ending with a rap from Logic. The biggest highlight of the episode was obviously Morty and his bizarre ways to solve drunk Rick's puzzle. The stray observation if this episode was that how dumb are the Vindicators for bringing Rick back? I guess they didn't want a repeat of Vindicators 2 (which killed off three heroes of color), but damn. At the end (in the concert) we saw a lot of characters from previous episode including our beloved Gearhead who had his gearmouth replaced with gearsticles by Rick last season. We have already seen that Tammy & Phenoix Person survived the events of "The Rickshank Redemption" and now that Supernova is also on the loose we are going to get one hell of a battle between Rick and the others. Plus the creators also hinted on the return of Evil Morty so let's see how that goes.

Rick and Morty: Pickle Rick
(2017)
Episode 3, Season 3

Great episode but still misses that R&M flavor
Missing those days when Rick and Morty use to go on an adventure which use to have dark & twisted endings. The biggest highlight of the episode was obviously Pickle Rick but there were a bit underwhelming moments like the therapy segment and Jaguar. Also lately Beth is becoming more & more annoying. Kudos to Jessica Gao for trying her best but so far episode 2 & 3 lack imagination and creativity. On the positive side the fighting scenes were awesome taking into consideration how Rick transformed himself from a lonely pickle into a pickle with rat body parts and goes on to cause chaos in a Russian prison. I have high hopes for the next episode as it will be not only adventurous but will also feature just Rick & Morty.

Rick and Morty: Rickmancing the Stone
(2017)
Episode 2, Season 3

Not one of the best but still a decent episode
This episode was pretty much solid but it lacked the R&M flavor. We are used to watch both grandpa & grandson go to some wacky dimension or place and usually cause chaos which mostly results in sad and dark endings. This however was a continuation of the family's lives after Beth & Jerry's divorce. The write Jane Becker did all her best to give us a taste of humor, love & sadness but missed the usual theme of the show. The Armothy Morty was the highlight of the episode whereas Summer & Hemorrhage's relationship seemed a lot awkward. Rick's robotic creations of himself & his grandsons was a hilarious bit. Elsewhere there were some cheesy moments in the episode like Rick's response to "Ah, you mean the Blood Dome?" to which he says "Save it for the Semantics Dome, E.B. White." and Robot Morty's descent into existential sentience, only to end with him saying "Hello" and walking away was by far one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. I have no problem with the introduction of female writers and I can't wait for the next one where Rick turns himself into a pickle.

Rick and Morty: The Rickshank Rickdemption
(2017)
Episode 1, Season 3

Rick makes new enemies (it seems)......
Before I review this episode, I have to praise the geniusness of the creators & Adult Swim for their unexpected release of Season 3 premier and that to on April Fools. This is possibly the best way to release a new (most awaited) episode. Coming to the episode, boy oh boy was I in for a lot of surprises. Firstly it was traumatizing to see how the Galactic Federation took over the Earth and that the Smith family (except for Jerry) have given up on life. Props goes to Summer's hopes and efforts for breaking out Rick (which was least expected from her). Rick transfers his conscious from C-137 to a Galactic agent, then to D- 99, then to Commander in Chief & then back to C-137. The way this was portrayed was absolute perfection. Last but not least, Rick ends up destroying Citadel of Ricks & Galactic Federation and also causes a rift between Jerry & Beth upon returning which will possibly end up in divorce. So now the big question is that will we see the Citadel and Galactic Federation team up to kill Rick? And will Jerry assist them? Not to forget Rick says in the end: "it gets darker Morty...". So I guess we are in for a lot of unexpected schwiftiness and more dark endings to future episodes. I strongly recommend you fellas to watch this episode. Because that will be the best 23 minutes of your life! Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!

Suicide Squad
(2016)

If you are hoping for Leto's acting to pull-off Ledgers....then no need to watch it....
Had a chance to watch the early screening and I gotta say: This film is great! A very well written and good casting unlike BvS. I am glad to see DC make a big impact. I have always been an admirer of Marvel films, but DC have really impressed me with this film. Leto's Joker might not be the best joker out there, or maybe not better than Ledger's but the guy did astonishingly well! People might have a negative reaction towards his performance but it's only because Heath set the bar very high. After Heath, if anyone can perform Joker well, it has got to be Leto. So if you are in for Leto only then it's better you don't watch it. Talking about other performances, Margot Robbie tops the list with crazy and chaotic performance of Harley Quinn. That annoying voice of Harley's might not be there but her evilness and nuisance is surely there. Jai Courtney's portrayal of Boomerang is on spot! His performance will surely make you hate his character by the end of the film and that's how the producers want us to feel. And the fact that there is a bit of Batman in this makes it even more awesome! Of course there are some things bad about this film and that includes less on-screen time for Joker and an unnecessary addition of Slipknot. Verdict: Suicide Squad is a decidedly different flavor than Batman v Superman. It goes for subversive, funny and stylish, and it succeeds wildly during the first act. But then the movie turns into something predictable and unexciting. Captain Boomerang, Amanda Waller and Harley Quinn nail their roles, and Deadshot makes a fine cinematic debut. But it's not the best DC film out there however it surely is a bigger improvement than MOS and BvS.

Black Mass
(2015)

Ladies and Gentleman, The Academy Award for Best Male Actor goes to.........JOHNNY DEPP!!!
The icy blue eyes of notorious Boston crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger stare out from the screen in Scott Cooper's "Black Mass" like the gaze of some confident jungle predator calmly lying in wait, holding his ground until the moment he moves in for the kill. And that same coolly calculated composure extends to every aspect of how the actor playing Bulger embodies the role, or rather disappears into it. But if Johnny Depp's mesmerizing performance — a bracing return to form for the star after a series of critical and commercial misfires — is the chief selling point of "Black Mass," there is much else to recommend this sober, sprawling, deeply engrossing evocation of Bulger's South Boston fiefdom and his complex relationship with the FBI agent John Connolly, played with equally impressive skill by Joel Edgerton. Something of an anti-"The Departed" (which was partly inspired by the Bulger case), the movie has an intentionally muted, '70s-style look and feel that may limit its appeal to the date-night multiplex crowd, but quality- starved adult moviegoers should flock to one of the fall's first serious, awards-caliber attractions. Not only that but Benedict Cumberbatch (who plays as a Senator and as Whitey's brother) has given a stellar performance. He is truly a talented person who gives his all in every film/show he acts.

BOTTOM LINE: Johnny Depp deserves an Oscar, if not then at least a nomination. Truly worth watching
